man, the crash is not worse in eyes of people outside the Netherlands, if you see how lil dies in that flight. In the Netherlands it`s heavy if 9 people dies, in America they would think: 9, you`re damn lucky if one of our planes crashes there are 200 dead people. suck off.

By the way, the Dutch people suffered also sad crashes. Tennerife, the worst crash ever, where a KLM and Panam collided. But again, it is not a competition.

@slaneyboi actually, many ILS approaches terminate in AutoLand - I should know, I do them regularly on B747 - the ILS system provides an approach guidance but the autoflight system provides the actual aircraft control to touchdown. Deactivating the AFS is also common and always occurs if the ground based ILS is not of sufficient quality, however, that's the choice of the crew and not a must do. This crash occurred as a result of not monitoring the automation sufficiently.
