  • i used to ride my bike to class with this cassette in my walkman. what DID happen here? this LP should have been huge, did the label just not push it? didn't they think it was commercial enough? no $ for any videos? if huey lewis could sell 80 zillion copies of sports, this should have at least made a dent. those first 4 songs all could have been hit singles. it looked like john was poised for the big time, and...nothing. hmm, think i still have this tape somewhere...

  • You did your best. Nice try, thanks. It does seem the label didn't push this very well and he didn't have any videos on this LP to put up. It was even better than the LP that 'Tragedy' was on (as great as that LP was). This song, "Alphabet Girls", "Breathless" & "1949 Dormatory Drive" are probably the best first four songs I've ever heard on an album. They really got it all. Great writing, great synth work by John, rocking guitar, big vocals, big drums and huge funky P-bass. Just great pop.
