dude, you're an idiot. i, personally, do not like his voice at all, but i can still see that there's emotion in it. just because something isn't the exact same as the origional doesn't mean there's no emotion.

there wasn't a band in semifinals until season 3 or 4, the first 2 seasons semifinals were only with a piano

Yeah, Steve Perry is an awesome singer. But this was not a bad performance from a then amateur. And it was ballsy of him to try and do a song sung by Steve Perry.
