They also tend to get upset when they can't see out of their enviroment. My Minnie used to make that noise when I put her in a box to clean her cage. =( They're very fussy.

I guess people aren't reading the info for this vid. This hamster was rescued and a home was found for it. A trash can is not an ideal home but it was only temporary if you read the info. She seems to be crying because she feels trapped. But at least she went to a good home instead of living in a muggy old bar where drunks or weirdos might have caught her or stepped on her. Poor girl!

I had a handicapped hamster once, yes thats right. He yelled and cried all the time but i kept training him to not be so aggressive and after about 6 months of training, he grew accustomed to being handled. Its hardwork but if your up to the task, your hamster can be your best friend.

my hamster did this for like the first couple of days when i opened the cage to put some food in when she was sleeping. but it was just cus she was stressed out by moving. its sounded more like a screaming pig though..

Yeah, that's the sound of a hamster in distress. I'm glad you rescued the poor thing. I had one once who tried to do an open-throated roar when he was frightened, and came out sounding like a miniature pterodactyl. ::: Reptile, your hamster has nightmares too? Mine does that a lot. When I hear him squeaking and yelling in his sleep, I wake him up. He sniffs my fingers, figures out he's okay, and goes right back to sleep.

my hamster made that noise when it was freaking out cause i had it near my pet rats. i think it's either scared or just being weird. lol. idk. it was weird to hear from my hammie cause i'd never heard her do it before either.

Hey dude just to let u know the hamster might be scared, because last time i was in the living room watching tv with my mom and my hamster was sleeping and then he started to do that noise and maybe he was having a bad dream so make sure he doesnt get scared :).

I had a handicapped hamster once, yes thats right. He yelled and cried all the time but i kept training him to not be so aggressive and after about 6 months of training, he grew accustomed to being handled. Its hardwork but if your up to the task, your hamster can be your best friend.

My hamster makes that sound too, if I make any sudden loud noises or if I wake him up when he doesn't want to be woken up. It's really surprising how loud they can be for such a tiny creature!

Just letting you know, I used to manage the small animal department at a pet store so I was always working with young hamsters-- they only scream like that when they are younger... sometimes females scream when they are older.. buts thats because they're bitches!
