@TheYanks751 well what the hell did you expect dipshit? You think you can just sign some papers and they say ok you are certified to fly this here multi million dollar fighter jet? You shouldn't have considered joining in the first place because basic training is naturally rough! It is specifically designed to separate the men from the pussies! NO SHIT!!!!!
All you have to do to succeed in AF BMT: pay attention to detail and do exactly what you are told. If you are able to do that without fail then you will be fine.
This gives me SO much motivation to workout! I need to get my run and my Pushups WAY up. I am going to do it though. To join the worlds greatest Air Force is my DREAM and GOAL! i am also trying to use my Youtube videos to help motivate me to lose some weight too (even though i am in the height weight standards).
I am not Air Force but from my experience they have the best lifestyle of all the branches hands down because they take care of their people far better than the others. AF personnel have assisted me far more and far better than any of the other branches excluding the Navy (haven't dealt with them). AF support personnel I'd say are the best in the military. (CG excluded from this post because they are homeland security)
@footballrox12 doing rotc will help you start off 1 rank higher in any branch you join. for example, you do rotc for 1 or 2 years, you go in as an e2 instead of an e1
@warmen0808 You're not enlisting are you? It would be a waste of your degree to enlist instead of going in as an officer. Having a degree as an enlisted man doesn't get you any points. You'll go in with people who are way younger and way less educated than you, and you'll be treated like shit just like them.
@cadreamin45 Not at all. Im going in as an officer. I've done my research before making such a big decision and thank you as well for your comment . I agree with you, it would be a waste of a degree.
Its imposisble to go into the Air Force as an officer right now. They have no officer openings for the rest of the 2011 fiscal year and the USAF is not allowing many many officers to reup their contracts in 2012. I have a bachelors degree and am going in enlisted, i'll worry about going to OCS a few years later when the economy gets better.
@cadreamin45 thats not true at all. getting into OTS is extremely hard, you don't just become an officer becuase you have a college degree. and those who can't often enlist and begin a path towards becoming an officer down the road. also, going in with a bachelors automatically gives you a higher ranking and higher pay than someone with an associates or a high school degree. you'll also be more likely to get the career choice that you want becuase you are more desirable.
@warmen0808 Not really. It would be a bigger waste of time trying to go officer in the US Air Force nowadays given the 10 percent acceptance rate. If you don't have a technical degree, you more than likely won't get a call back. I enlisted having majored in English.
@ThatVincentGuy having a major in english will get you no where, you want something useful like mechanics. you know, something actually to deal with your job
@ThatVincentGuy im only 16. im not trying to offend you. im just saying, the airforce isnt going to hire someone that majored in something like english because that has no use
@ThatVincentGuy this is VERY true. I was in the application process for OTS just recently until I started reading more about what kind of degrees are most selected, average GPAs of selected candidates, etc. I didn't want to waste my time either. Plus, I'm not sure I'd want to be in an officer position anyway. Enlisting with a bachelor's is still good. You graduate BMT as an E-3 rather than an E-2 & it could have an effect on quick you rank up as well. I'm totally with you!!
@cadreamin45 I'm in my freshman year at college. I haven't even gotten my A.A., can I go once I get it or can I go before? Or do I have to get my Bachelor's degree?
@theprettygirl45 if you want to enlist you don't need any college. If you want to be an officer, you need at least a bachelors degree. If you have a certain number of credit hours, you'll get two stripes right away if you enlist. I can't remember how many credit hrs you need. I would keep going to college if you can afford it and go officer.
ah they talk to them so sweet, they still smile and everything, ha try going through the Marines, the mental standards compare nothing to the Corps, imagine how much mental focus you have to have to manuver under fire, not able to hear your own voice and beyond exhusted, and complete the mission. Your stress comes from to much paperwork on the desk, while sitting all day. I earn my right to boast about my branch just as some of you. Takes balls and brains for the Corps
@skaterride2 Yes. They have computer and automotive related fields, such as cyber security and surety. Always good to have with a computer related degree or on a resume
613maccabee- 1.-academics is not stressed in your branch,2.few marines have/will actually see a firefight though they are 0311's,3.you speak of secondary education,i speak of AF education,4.marines think on your feet?nah, you REACT.marines and pressure?you got that right.pressure is something you feel when you discover you are ill-prepared for the task. we are thoroughly trained, hence no pressure.5.better equipment?nah-better training, advanced maturity and unsupervised responsibility.
People... don't get butt-hurt over YouTube shit-talkers. I bet half of the people on here commenting and bashing other branches have never set foot in the military.
I read and interesting book called "shadow warriors" by oliver north and The Air Force is one of the most valued special operations branches of the military. Now dont misinterpret what i just said i have Outstanding respect for all branches and all special ops. But the Air Force is Valued so much because it brings a different skill set to the fight. Which is More accurate Air strikes and etc.. I chose Air Force Because at the time i Enlisted it was the hardest to get into. I wanted a challenge.
Why does everybody bitch and moan about who is better? You know what the first word of every branch is? UNITED. We work together for a common goal, as an interdependent team. If you're joining a particular branch to prove something to yourself, then you have the wrong mentality for serving in the U.S. military. Service over self.
All you Marines need to pull your heads out of your asses and climb off your high horses. YOU ARE NOT BETTER THAN EVERYONE ELSE. What were your ASVAB scores? 20s? 30s? Hmm. Why don't you do some fucking research before you start talking shit. Go through AFSOC training and then come talk to me.
If you are in the Army or Marines, you are at no grounds to call the Air Force pussies when we save your ass when you fuck up. Oh, and beside the fact that we have the most badass spec ops, which are tougher that the green berets, navy seals, army rangers ect. Think before you rag on the ones that save your ass when it gets too hard for you.
@jt8hammer8 Hmm, funny that my unit’s air support in Iraq were all Marine pilots and aircrafts. Oh, but the Air Force saves the Marines, that’s right.
If all of you whining about why the Air Force training is so "weak", its because there is not much combat training, its all technical based. BMT is only to give you some military training, then you are assigned to a technical school where the hell really begins (especially if you a pilot, 12-13 hours of pilot school per day). Please, never compare the Marines to the Air Force, Marines are direct land/sea combat. Air Force is not.
to people comparing AF and Marine training, they train marines for close combat, where you need to know how to fight and counter people trying to kill you, if your in the AF your not going to experience any of that after basic training, why would you need big muscles and be able to fly a jet, AF is going to be flying jets, mechanics, fabrication, predeter drones, satalite servalence, ....oh and you shouldn't go into the military if you put one branch above the others and say the others are shit.
Wow. What a bunch of fucking pussies. Good thing they have a branch like the Air Force for all the nonhackers to join, so that they can still feel like they're contributing *something*. I mean, Jesus titty-fucking CHRIST, yell at them, make them run faster, stress them a little, do SOMETHING. I've had PE classes in high school more strenuous than that. Grow some nuts, airmen.
@griever0311 Your a total disgrace. Your not better than any other branch. But, keep telling yourself that. It must make you feel really important, you probably run your mouth more than John Madden, walking up to random people telling them what you do and how important it is and how weak the other branches are. Does this sound right? Every branch serves their roll, every MOS serves their role. Anyone that belittles another job or branch shouldn't be in the military to begin with.
Rofl air force is weak ha! Tell that to the guys who dropped the nukes. Who the fuck do u think dropped them to all those ass holes who don't appreciate the importance to all the branches of the military.
@Soccermaniac3555 Hate to break it to you, but that was the Army Air Corps. Those bombings were in 1945 and the Air Force wasn't created until 1947. Not saying they're weak or anything, but you may want to get your facts straight :)
My favorite moment with my MTI...Your reporting statement!!! Sir, Trainee...whatever the Hell your last name is, reports....as....ORDERED!!!!! So for 99% of you clowns.....Sir, TRAINEE DUMBASS, reports as ORDERED!!!!
@RanDmHero960 probably tear gas. they make you take your mask off for a little while also while your in it to show you its important to properly fit your gas mask
@wefinishthefight@xwestbayx Fact: When you do your years in the marines and you get out, not one person is going to care how many convoys you have been on or what grunt work you did. Why? because that stuff is useless for civilian life. Sorry you didn't meet the AF standards to get in.
fact : marines-not the most intense training by far. Look into air force spec ops i.e. Combat Controller, PJ. The most intense out of any branches. We have Seals who leave for more of a challenge with us.
HAHAHAHA I remember all of this...thank goodness I am out of that. Definitely was an experience I will always remember. The best thing about it was how close you got to your flight because your TIs were always riding your ass. It goes by fast though...now if I can only get out of tech school! lol. 322nd! Second to None! ;) Best Female PT, huah! Good luck to all of the newbies that roll into BMT. Its life changing!
I love america, dont get me wrong. Im in the USAF. My problem is people speaking spanish and ignoring english. Stay in mexico if you dont want to adapt to our customs.
@WeFinishTheFight ok first you claim to be a marine going on a navy bootcamp video , people don't buy your bullshit there so you come on here tryin to act like your an airman . You are so full of fuckin shit its pathetic. I hate wanna be mother fuckers like you that use youtube to try to be somthing your not because your real life is pathetic and worthless.
what an ignorant thing to say there slick, so because the girl said something in Spanish she's already a Mexican and she's completely ignoring English. Maybe her parents don't speak English and she's trying to say something to them. What are the customs do hispanics need to adapt to anyways? yours? like what? explain por favor.
daddy3195,thinking and then performing the task regardless of circumstance is what makes an Airman an Airman.all services do their jobs well. as to us not coming close to the physical calibre of the corp, the same could be said about the corp regarding A.F. academic, technical, and mental standards. not even close.
@cadreamin45 thanks for this site. its nice. i see mrcodezero thinks bmt is a joke and we're weak.here's what i think, posting shit on another services board is weak(keyboard commando).lying about how hard mcrd is,is weak(that shit aint hard, you just think it is).the weakness is in you guys character (those who have character).
@colors1387 In the Marines you have to think on your feet and make instant life or death decisions in the middle of a fire fight. The A.F. does not have that pressure; and as far as us not comming close to your academic or mental standards, I know plenty of E-3s & below who have or are working on a degree and I agree the A.F. has better technical equipment, but the Marine corps gets way more done with what little we have and I am certain that America sleeps better at night because of the Corps.
@613maccabee See above post by me.and by the way, how many marines are on This board talking shit?instead of elevating yourselves, some in your branch continue to wallow in their own mental detritus by denegrating the Air Force.cool... but here's a thought; i know a few good men. i also know plenty of punk-ass dudes that went into the marines and they became punk-ass marines (you know them). oh yeah- America sleeps better at night because of the Department of Defense. All of us. Above All
im probably gonna be at the top of my flight. i can do all this physical training shit easily by looking at this video. ive played football 6 years and soccer 3 years so this is really a piece of cake to me
I think you said it best. I showed a few of these video's to my fellow co worker who is also a fellow Marine. We about dropped our jaws when we seen these guys smiling and having a good time. The only smile a Marine breaks, IF he breaks his bearing is when he is dismissed by his Battalion Commander after boot camp. THEN he's earned the right to smile.
wow, the confidence course looked cute lol i was at benning when i went through OSUT home of the infantry had a blast but that training right there looked undisciplined
Went through February-March 2009. BEAST is pretty intense, but I'm not gonna lie and say it's like the Marine Recruit Training. The new direction of the AF is developing it into an expeditionary force, rather than the support/garrison role it's taken in the past. Feels good to be able to look back on it.
is it this easy? like during the video ppl are laughing and no DI is around... how long is training btw 6 weeks and do you have a 2nd dairy training like all marines have combat training or stright to MOS school
supermike82marines have air ground and sea so before you start talking about things you dont know, corp does almost all the ground and pound. and we support our own.
...it is 8.5 weeks... Just half a week less than Army. It was a Video for the parents. Do you think they are going to show the real thing, or a sugar coated 'this is fun' thing?
@mikeflaherty75 only if your home town is next to your assigned base lol. They aren't going to pay for you to drive in from a distance, you live and work where the USAF says. They will give you an allowance to live off base but I believe you need to rank up a few times first.
I leave in two weeks to Lackland on my journey to become a United States Airman-a title I will carry on with honor throughout my life.

@griever0311 you've had a p.e class with a gas chamber? well sir if that's the case then I can see why you're so angry at the world.

@Soccermaniac3555 Hate to break it to you, but that was the Army Air Corps. Those bombings were in 1945 and the Air Force wasn't created until 1947. Not saying they're weak or anything, but you may want to get your facts straight :)

RanDmHero960 1 year ago
@RanDmHero960 probably tear gas. they make you take your mask off for a little while also while your in it to show you its important to properly fit your gas mask

@wefinishthefight @xwestbayx Fact: When you do your years in the marines and you get out, not one person is going to care how many convoys you have been on or what grunt work you did. Why? because that stuff is useless for civilian life.

Its life changing!

what an ignorant thing to say there slick, so because the girl said something in Spanish she's already a Mexican and she's completely ignoring English.

@colors1387 <---soon to be airmen, MARINE = Muscles Are Required Intelligence Not Expected
FrankfortHigh 1 year ago
@colors1387 In the Marines you have to think on your feet and make instant life or death decisions in the middle of a fire fight. The A.F. does not have that pressure; and as far as us not comming close to your academic or mental standards, I know plenty of E-3s & below who have or are working on a degree and I agree the A.F. has better technical equipment, but the Marine corps gets way more done with what little we have and I am certain that America sleeps better at night because of the Corps.
613maccabee 11 months ago
@613maccabee See above post by me.and by the way, how many marines are on This board talking shit?instead of elevating yourselves, some in your branch continue to wallow in their own mental detritus by denegrating the Air Force.cool... but here's a thought; i know a few good men. i also know plenty of punk-ass dudes that went into the marines and they became punk-ass marines (you know them). oh yeah- America sleeps better at night because of the Department of Defense. All of us. Above All

@MrCodezero
THEN he's earned the right to smile.
daddy3195 1 year ago
@daddy3195
Yeah thats because it's just a video, they are milkin it to make it look better then it really is!

wow, the confidence course looked cute lol i was at benning when i went through OSUT home of the infantry had a blast but that training right there looked undisciplined
infantryguy20 1 year ago
Went through February-March 2009. BEAST is pretty intense, but I'm not gonna lie and say it's like the Marine Recruit Training. The new direction of the AF is developing it into an expeditionary force, rather than the support/garrison role it's taken in the past. Feels good to be able to look back on it.

is it this easy? like during the video ppl are laughing and no DI is around... how long is training btw 6 weeks and do you have a 2nd dairy training like all marines have combat training or stright to MOS school
supermike82marines have air ground and sea so before you start talking about things you dont know, corp does almost all the ground and pound. and we support our own.

so does any1 no if if u join the airforce reserves and i wanna get a apartment by my home town do they pay 4 u
mikeflaherty75 1 year ago
@mikeflaherty75 only if your home town is next to your assigned base lol. They aren't going to pay for you to drive in from a distance, you live and work where the USAF says. They will give you an allowance to live off base but I believe you need to rank up a few times first.
ksb2050 1 year ago
@mikeflaherty75 if your in the reserves you pay for your own place. you only work 1 weekend a month? why would they pay for that.
