I love the classic controller since its so SNES-like, something is unbelievably satisfying about playing games like Secret of Mana and Super Mario RPG on the controller they were meant to be played on.

The CROSS is NOT the best sub-weapon, believe it or not the HOLY WATER is which was always underrated but vital for virtually destroying any BOSS very quickly and easily once you obtain the Triple Roman-Numeral.

Portrait of Ruin on the DS was my first Castlevania. I *really* liked it. :P Music in it was awesome, which seems to hold true for the Castlevania series in general. I may get Order of Ecclessia, as well as SotN on XBLA.

it,s nice to have many snes games on the wii but you better off to get the actual game cartrides,uselees you, don,t have the money,don,t want to constandly dig out the snes,and if nintendo will put a picture & sound enhancer for old games, to match the resolution of wii games.

I think that there were two more after this: Dracula X and Rondo of Blood. Rondo of Blood was on the TG-16 and Dracula X was on the Super NES. Could be off on some of the details but I do know they were traditional Castlevania games.

I just downloaded it and yeah, even though I expected something like Dawn of Sorrow for NDS, I still thought this Arcade-Style is very nice and surely addictive... 'till I died and I saw the password system ... -_-

I disagree with you on the music sound track. The game following it, dracula x, had far better music. They remade bloody tears, beginning and vampire killer. I couldn't have asked for more.

Being a huge fan of the CastleVania games... this game would NOT be a 10 out of 10!!! Maybe an eight or nine, but not 10. It just didn't have the same great look of the NES CastleVania games... I know, different system, but this game should've looked a lot better for a SNES game!! A lot of the graphics were too "cartoony" and they used some weird color mixtures...

i played that castlevania on the playstation the night version or whatever its called it has great graphics but uses a sword which i hated i perfer the whip castlevania 4 is king over all

The difficulty rises exponentially in later levels. Also, losing all of your lives mean starting back at the beginning of the world, but you'll never find yourself at the beginning of the game (and if you somhow want to restart, there's a password system if you want to continue where you left off).

Actually Super Castlevania 4 was not the 4th game in the series... it was the 7th in Japan, the 6th in the US. And Symphony of the Night hit the PS1 first, not after the Saturn version.
