  • they should have had their backs turned to her

  • that car sounds like shit... change the oil or some belts for god sake

  • reminds me of the end of matrix revolutions with smith

  • badass.jpeg

  • Umm I'm graduating from Davis guys...and I'm gonna shake her hand and walk on the stage ;).

  • Absolutely chilling. I teach meditation and have talked a lot about the incredible strength of silence. But all my talk pales beside these 2 minutes of video.

  • walk of shame

  • "we asked for a silent respectful exit", hmmm your on to something there slag. Next time the occupy group should just tell the cops "we asked to not be pepper sprayed for sitting down"

  • If i was a UC Davis student graduating, I would not shake her hand when walking on stage.

  • @L331227 If I were a graduating UC Davis student, I wouldn't walk onto the same stage as this woman. She should've been fired immediately.

  • what UCDavis thinks- "we're merely expressing ourselves in the form of peaceful protesting. katehi, as law-abiding citizens we look down upon your infringement of freedom."

in reality- "OMFG wE 0wnd her!!!! shAME ON UUU!!! SHAME ON UUU1!! SHAME ON UUU!!! WUT U GET 4 HURTING OUR FEELINGS we will socially ostrasize the FUCK outta choo!!! epic win!!! we are so important!!!! *thinks they will be noted in history next to MLKjr, gandhi, and other decontexualized images flowing through their heads* "

  • What the fuck was that, I was like in total suspence up until she got in the car then when the video was nearing the end I was like...something fucken happen like what the fuck was that shit....ive watched children videos that had more action than this crap what the fuck..five thumbs down on who filmed this clip..i mean the movie didnt even have a title..come the fuck on!

  • This is a far more powerful statement than violence ever is

  • She's got no fucking shame at all. What a cunt.

  • This just shows how powerful silence can be at times.

  • Smile and wave boyyss...

  • Amazing all the sick authoritarian fucks on these "UC Davis pepper spray videos." Most of you nutjobs would get your rocks off watching your own mothers get pepper sprayed.

  • @jlhbr100 have you ever heard of something called "damage control"?

  • Creepy!

  • Where is Guile's Theme?

  • what?

  • Comment removed

  • This lady doesn't deserve all these shitty students giving her death stares. Fuck all these people that don't watch the "what really happened" video, showing that the students were ENTIRELY at fault for this.

  • @CARVERitUP Heil Hitler!

  • @CARVERitUP Sorry, could only give you 1 thumbs up.

  • and not a single fuck was given that day...

  • Must be Psychology majors. They're the only ones with classes easy enough to sit around and complain about the 1% all day.

  • @MrSteveleon Must be nice having a job that's easy enough to afford you time to sit around on Youtube comment sections complaining about the 99% all day.

  • @Zenthik Well it sure is Zenthik. I love making fun of the stupid lazy ass people like you that complain about people that put in the hours and hard work to get ahead only to be ridiculed by lazy pieces of crap like you that suck the life out of the social safety net. Try to get you IQ above 80 so I won’t have to tell you NO next time you ask me if I want to super size it…. LOSER!

  • @MrSteveleon Wow.... MrSteveleon you're not a very nice specimen a human being are you. What a hate filled person you are.

  • @oceandrew

subjugating your fellow human being as a "specimen" akin to a zoo animal is a lovely way of condescending somebody who disagrees with you...

  • @ragglefraggle09 "Specimen" means example, sample, representation of or even faxsimile of.... no zoo animals were impugned, insulted or offended in my comment. And the individual I was responding to did not disagree with me but I found their comment entirely disagreeable and nasty. Did you happen to read it? Do you agree with it? Then we clearly don't see eye to eye on civility and good manners. Have a wonderful life, now.

  • @oceandrew

the context that the word is usually used in is one that resonate something less-than-human in a lab environment. you could have used example, sample, or representation but you chose not to; they're too passive and objective to make a point. i commented on an aspect of your comment independent from "Mr"s. if he was nasty let him know and be done with him. if he spews nothing of value ignore him.

  • @ragglefraggle09 Oh for crying out loud... please practise what you preach!!

  • @oceandrew

i found your attitude worth condemning; it's a guilty pleasure ;)

you also indirectly said your own words have nothing of value

  • Personally I don't care what you think or what turns you on guiltily or otherwise. Now go hang with you bud, MrSteveleon and condescend to your hearts' content.

  • @oceandrew

    lol

  • bitch.

  • @BigDave1060 definitely a waste of time to stand up for something and do homework later in the night. i see where you're going with this.

  • @BigDave1060 nah they didnt have homework cuz they drop outs

  • i wish someone farted halfway through

  • @cmonbugmenot yeah this is a really good point. that would be funny and very deep. i see where you're going with this. very intelligent and enlightening comment, thank you.

  • @secretsocietyof trollers be hunting, 1670.

  • She has a big nose. You don't see people like that nowadays.

  • @TheGreatJuicebox You don't see people with huge noses anymore because they are afraid that Chancellor Katehi will order them to be pepper sprayed or something like that... lol

  • Slow clap!

  • UC Davis has a bunch of faggot liberals. They aren't having any true revolution.. Show me the real money. These are nothing but punks.

  • @GiovannisSanctuary Why do you think that it's acceptable to pepper-spray/hurt/arrest people who you disagree with politically? I'm curious about the mental gymnastics required to support something like this while simultaneously upholding the Constitution (or Constitutional values, like freedom of expression).

  • Wow, that was something else. I think if I was her I would have been more comfortable if they were throwing rocks or bottles or eggs or anything at me, because then I could write them off as being animals just screwing around. But for all of them to be silently sitting waiting watching judging me like that I don't think I could have taken the pressure. I almost pissed myself watching the video that was so terrifying...

  • @orangeapples Wow you're really horrible under pressure.

  • Thats fantastic. i can sleep in Lincoln bedroom at the whitehouse tonight, after all,it was paid for with my tax money.

Being a taxpayer or even a student means exactly nothing. I cant drive the wrong waydown a one way street even though i paid for it.

They were told to move. They did not. They were not sitting over in the corner of theuniversity, out of the way. The point is to be visible and in the way.

So you either get manhandled and arrested, or peppersprayed. It's their choice.

  • @AshburnSlumLord Do you really not realize that this logic justifies just about anything? There are traffic laws saying that you can't drive the wrong way down a street. If you get a ticket, you only have to pay it if it's decided that you actually broke an *actual law*. People don't have to obey the police simply because they are the police. If a policeman tells you to suck his cock, you are not required by law to do so. It's pretty disturbing that you don't understand this.

  • @BenkaiDebussy They broke the law when they were told to disburse. They are blocking traffic and that is blocking right of way. Why dont you try sitting down in the entrance to a local Costco and making it more difficult for patrons.

There is no law against sitting either, but when the cop tells you to move you move or you risk getting arrested.

  • Its no different at school. These people think that because their dad paid for tuition, that it somehow means more than a person that pays for a costco membership.

They both pay for the right to use services, not to be a douche.

  • @AshburnSlumLord "Risk getting arrested" would be a legitimate response. "Risk police brutality" is not.

  • @zev007 Pepper spray isnt brutal. Its a calculated action if the police do not have the manpower to handle all the arrests. For brutality, go after the fellow dooshbags doing the raping at these protests.

  • @AshburnSlumLord Wow, you totally opened my eyes. Gandhi was such a douche.

  • @AshburnSlumLord These students were UC Davis students. No doubt they had UC Davis student ID. So they had a RIGHT to be there. The campus fatsos didn't bother to check for student ID because they just wanted to have "fun."

  • @fantom58 Nah. They have the right to attend classes. Once they are disruptive, they give up that right. Dont like it? Dont block buildings for everyone else that is trying to work or go to class. If you manhandle them, then people cry about why you didnt use nonviolent means. If you use nonviolent means to shoo them, they cry that you didnt manhandle them.

Meanwhile, they complain about their student loans, but instead of complaining to Obama, the new loan czar.

    win

  • @AshburnSlumLord Actually, dinklefritz, the protest was in solidarity to another campus who was doing that and was attacked by the police. likewise, they were also attacked. They were not hard to navigate around and were generally staying out of the way UNTIL the cops showed up. Their only response to the cops was to sit down and link arms and yell. There was NO REASON for what happened. It was even a faculty sponsored event, and PROFESSORS were beaten, sprayed and arrested FOR DOING NOTHING.

  • well done. I remarkable display of action, I hope that every protest can have this sort of effect with this level of peacefulness

  • I wonder why I never saw the asshole crapping on the American flag, that I receive via email. Could it be liberal media only showing one side?

  • @wsoxman What are you talking about? Did you receive an e-mail from someone telling you that a liberal crapped on an American flag (or hates America or something)? If so, did you extrapolate that into "all/most liberals hate America"?

It's amazing how there's this belief that anyone left-leaning hates America that assumes anyone who says otherwise is lying (quite paranoid). It's literally based on nothing but conservatives telling each other that liberals hate America.

  • That's crazy, when the only sound you can hear is shuffling feet.

  • Its it wrong to enjoy how uncomfortable she looks in her walk of shame?

  • @CaliHoosierGirl Absolutely not.

  • @CaliHoosierGirl No - she worked hard to get to where she is now and it would be selfish and cruel of us to deny her her just rewards.

  • @smacksvideomayhem: They were making use of their Constitutional First Amendment to let their thoughts and feelings be known, peacefully and legally. Also, they were most likely attending classes during the day, since they're registered as students there.

  • I was looking for Dead Silence lol

  • @berserk9779 as long as he is not being an a-hole and trying to prevent the police from passing, i think he will be fine.

  • The driver did not wear a sit belt. Is he gonna be peppersprayed and pulled away as well?

  • She needs to take a long walk off a short pier.

  • lol i bet they're taking 100 pictures each on purpose, and then deleteing 99 of hem when they get home..

It's just to make her feel more awkwarder...

  • A worthy response by the protestors. Don't sully it with vitriol. Let the investigation proceed.

  • nervous harpy

  • She's got to go. Sign the petition:

    change.org/petitions/police-pepper-spray-peaceful-uc-davis-students-ask-chancellor-katehi-to-resign

  • Walk of shame.

  • Idiot

  • Well...that was awkward

  • She needs to take a long walk on a short pier

  • She needs to take a walk in traffic

  • MAKE HER WALK THE PLANK

  • Considering she presides over a glorified re-education camp/daycare center for spoiled marxist brats it's probably better for them to remain silent and be thought of as fools than to open their mouths and remove all doubt.

  • @jesseVenturanotaSeaI What's your gpa and SAT scores genius?

  • Comment removed

  • @jesseVenturanotaSeaI "Yeah, who needs an education! Besides, I know that they're all Marxist, even though most claim they aren't (they're lying!)."

It's depressing how so many uneducated people have decided that education is a bad thing due to their own insecurity. There's this misguided belief that people with college/graduate degrees are elitist and look down on them.

  • @BenkaiDebussy They aren't getting much of an education, are they?

Funny how you claim that I'm uneducated and then work "insecurity" into the equation. Since you disagree it must be because of a lack of education on my part, right? Since I am unwilling to unthinkingly regurgitate what was shoveled at me and uncritically adopt other peoples ideas and opinions as my own I must have not be "educated" and since you ape what you are told to ape you must be. Right? Not very "secure" of you. :-D

  • I would have been like, "What ya'll mad? Why ya'll so damn quiet? Say somethin', bitches. Pay the high ass Tuitions or get the fuck out of my goddamn school! I run shit here, ya'll just go here!" lol

  • Stupid bitch should fuck off home to her disgraced country of Greece. No place for Nazi tactics on a student campus.

  • She needs pepperspray in that hook nose of hers.

  • I don't get it.

  • Fake!!! Not enough asians were present! UC Davis is infested with those soulless zipperheads.

  • @whatsabloopie You take this piss out of Asians again and I will remove your iPod from its tiny nano-sheath and push it up your cock. And then I'll plug some speakers up your arse and put it onto shuffle with my fucking fist. And every time I hear something that I don't like, which will be every time that something comes on, I will skip to the next track by crushing your balls

  • @MrLearntoread Go play starcraft 2!

  • @whatsabloopie I'd rather shag your sister.

  • @MrLearntoread if i had a sister, I'd let you shag her. She would probably be a huge slut anywayz.

  • @cinereyes I don't have a personal computer at home. Don't assume.

  • OBAMA's UNION HENCHMEN COPS.OBAMA's democratic clowns up in SACRAMENTO created this mess by whoring out to the LABOR UNIONS catering to ILLEGALS bankrupting CALIFORNIA. OBAMA's democratic clowns have wasted billions on UNION jobs like COPS, jailguards, & DMV cubicle hamster jobs in CA - the kind of jobs that raised our taxes, raise our kids tuition, & pepper spray our kids & bankrupted this great state. I feel so sorry for these students. OBAMA & his democratic cronies has fucked them over.

  • i guess you could say this really opened my eyes about the OWS protests. the media casts them as violent and pointless. this proves to be otherwise. i fully support what they did there that day, and good on them for future protests.

  • @heyitslo741 Yeah, the media has been pretty awful. Even "left-wing" NPR refers to every incidence of police on protester violence as "protesters clashing with the police." The implication is always that the protesters were actively fighting with the police. Wealthy people are not happy about OWS, and the media depends upon wealthy individuals/corporations for funding/ad revenue. Unfortunately, it's looking like the negative media presentation has been pretty successful.

  • @unionjack72 You are the kind of retard who thinks that pizza is a vegetable. FYI, a tomato is a fruit so technically according to your own logic, a pizza a day keeps the doctor away.

  • Nothing happened. A lady walking to her vehicle, with people taking pictures of her, typical...wooo

  • She was owned by Occupy

  • That was boring

  • it's like that movie "the birds" ironic, because she kinda looks like one

  • @Mcgillicywillboy absolutely agreed.

  • chinga tu madre Chancellor Katehi

  • Powerful stuff.

  • Comment removed

  • take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints

  • Arrest the bitch!

  • play her off, keyboard cat!

  • @largegrainsofsalt I watched this whole goddamn video waiting for keyboard cat.

  • @TheNothingDoing lol u mad bro?

  • "it’s exactly what the climate of fear imposed by all abusive police state actions is intended to achieve: to coerce citizens to “decide” on their own to be passive and compliant — to refrain from exercising their rights — out of fear of what will happen if they don’t." -- Glenn Greenwald

  • Silent condemnation.

  • I mean.. The students were ignoring the enforcers of the law. Its not like the police open fired on them.. and to pick them up and try and make them move would have started a massive fist fight.

They can't just leave them there... you can't get special treatment within the law.

Pepper spray was the least harmful solution. If you're going to ignore the law, expect consequences you know? They should be happy they sent out a message with the risks they took.

  • @alliswim2010 Nope, the police were ordered to remove tents, not to disperse a crowd, arrest anyone, or anything like that (at least that's what Katehi is saying). The student's weren't preventing cops from doing this (you can see in the video that the police are on both sides of the line, so obviously they could get by). The police just didn't like them there, and decided to punish them for it. Since when were the police empowered to dispense summary corporal punishment?

  • Someone should pepper spray her ugly ass.

  • @KornSOAD why?

  • @2arunout I know what you're doing. You want me to answer so you can argue with my answer. I'm not falling for it. Good day to you sir.

  • @2arunout yea, it is hard to develop a logical response, so why not just resort to the name calling and the sort. Who on here cares about intelligent and rational dialogue anyway.

  • fucking lol at this gay passive aggressive protest...what a bunch of dickless faggots

  • @MYPOSTINGCAREERcom you're an ignorant piece of shit.

  • @mrbriscoe2001 They're allowed to apply force at certain times. Sometimes, they are given the "right" to apply this force at the wrong times. Laws are never perfect, so there will normally be too much, or too little force allowed. I happen to believe that if someone is sitting in a park, "pepper spray to the face" is "too much". It has nothing, at all, about avoiding consequences, and everything to do with civil rights. So shove that reactionary accusation up your ass.

  • @balthcat

how come they don't pepper spray goldman sachs execs for stealing 13 billion of your money in 2008 (illegal naked short cds bet against subprime mortgages with aig - aig bankruptcy).

How come the police don't do their jobs and go after the real criminals - starting with goldman sachs executives.

  • @balthcat "sitting in a park"?are you talking about these kids or the various Occupy groups.? They're not allowed to block a police force 's exit. peppers spray is a device and a strategy;so is hauling,pulling,clubbing..which technique do you prefer?and I repeat. Many of this generation never expect consequences;that's why they trash personal property after sporting championships;they enjoy the cowardice of mob behavior...not all. but many..

  • "Have you ever walked into a room, and then realized that everyone was just talking about you? But have you ever had it happen, 10 times in a row? I know I did."

  • she is so brave

  • 'Is it any wonder why Princes and Kings

Are clowns that caper in their sawdust rings

'cause ordinary people that are like you and me

We're the builders of their destiny'

she is one ruling class clown; dont get that twisted!

    greetz from europe

  • Back in my days, we got mad when racist cops beat black people with night sticks. Was it cool that these kids got pepper sprayed? No. Is it that big of a deal? No. At least they have a story to tell all their buddies. "I was a part of police brutality!"

"Woah man like Rodney King?!" "No I was pepper sprayed... But still!"

  • She looks and carries herself and speaks like a dignified person, which she probably is. I'm sure we've all done stupid things in the past. Nice silent protest btw.

  • That's the most boring video title of all time.

  • @areyouwatchingluke at least it's accurate? haha

  • I think people are being too hard on the UC Davis Chancellor. She has to do what is necessary to maintain order on her campus. Those 20 protesting students were told to leave and when they refused they faced the consequences. Yes, part of our American history is civil disobedience, but there is usually a price to pay for the civil disobedience. So if we're gonna protest, we have to be willing to accept the possible consequences for having done so.

  • @irvinetustin simply handcuffing people and escorting them off campus would have sufficed, don't you think? And look at the shame in her face, she knows she screwed up, big time...

  • The silence bit deep enough.

  • someone should have walked up and gave her a face full of pepper spray

  • i would have come up to her and pepper sprayed her face to give her a taste of her own medicine

  • This woman should be deeply ashamed of her own decisions, and should take some responsibility in the terrible assaults on peaceful protesters that followed. As for the people who think this was the right thing to do, maybe you prefer living in a totalitarian state, but that's not the American dream. It's a Nazi nightmare.

  • Awkward..

  • KILL HER

  • i would of beat the shit out of her u passive pussys

  • this is y black ppl are unequal to wite ppl

  • that bitch should be scared

  • Those idiots never read newspapers outside the world?

How come no yellow tends join the move?

    Only Greeks? Everybody knows.

  • Who's in charge on campus?

    The Police?

    I thought HER.

  • greatest walk of shame if i ever seen one -____-

  • i'd definitely feel more awkward and ashamed of myself walking amongst silent protestors, than loud, yelping crowds. this was done very well with tact, and much resembled my reaction to that infamous video.. silent distaste.

  • Incredibly powerful video. Please share this. This is chilling and should go out throughout the world. Longest walk of her life, I'll bet.

  • I gotta say, even though I haven't made up my mind whether the pepperspray was justified or not, this was powerful.

And to see this many students protesting without the use of violence is refreshing. I feel this gets the message across much better. inb4 faggot

  • Just a little pepper spray. College students today are soft. Back in the 1960's during the Vietnam demonstrations they beat us with clubs. There's one thing about college students though. They are as arrogant as they are idealistic.

  • @CarlLafong01 Go away, dickhead.
