  • neet little gun

  • @ConcealedTactics Thanks, I recently talked to a gunsmith and he put my mind at ease as far as the striker, I'll be carrying this gun now as soon as my holster arrives :)

  • Very nice looking pistol there sir! I know what you're talking about with stiff springs & re-assembly. I have a Kahr that's a booger. I'd carry the one that you feel most comfortable with even though you purchased this with that intent. Thanks for sharing!

    Peace

  • @dwilhoite I find all Kimbers to have a stiif mainspring. I don't usually have a problem with 1911's but the small size of this one makes it particularly hard to handle. Thanks for stopping by :)

  • if you carry cocked and locked as you say, why not carry a revolver, more reliable, safer etc.. not that i need to tell you any of that. just wondering why you dont carry a revolver

  • @austinyoung300ex I have a shake in my hands and I need an auto, plus it's just what I feel comfortable with.

  • Looks nice, Sir.

  • @Cz858peter Thanks, haven't shot it yet but from what I've heard they're very accurate for such a short barrel. :)

  • All Kimber firearms are top quality, I have just joined a pistol club here in Australia and my first purchase after the waiting periods will be a Kimber in .22 Great video, very helpfull, thank you.

P.S Really love that mug :)

  • @Bijomaru1joker Thanks for stopping by. Of course you know that's one of Pete's mugs, top quality :) With all the poisonous snakes ya'll have down under I'd have to have plenty of rat shot handy :) Kimbers are all very nice weapons. I've heard a lot about breakin periods but so far all mine have performed flawlessly .

  • nice mug :)

  • @extethy It's beyond nice and it's mine :)

  • Sig 938 will bury the Kimber Solo.

Save your money people ! Nice review though.

  • @Bulwark1911 As soon as one pops it's head up over here it's mine :)

  • i always thought you had a beautiful mug!

  • @theARMORYchannel It looks better with hot chocolate in it. :)

  • I'm glad I got my Solo when they first came out. I called around to my local shops and I found one in stock for $600. If I was to look for one now and my only option was a waiting list, I'd just wait for the P938 instead.

  • @Nakanokalronin When I see my first P938 I'm going to grab it :)

  • I'm skeptical of any pistol that is ammo specific and carries a one year guarantee. Good review though.

  • @mpg827 Yep. Makes me a bit leary too:)

  • Looks nice...

  • @OilTheGun Thanks, the size and weight is perfect. I guess I just have 1911 on the brain. I really wanted to carry this one but will just use it as a secondary conceal .:)

  • That magazine is adorable! Nice looking gun haha, seems like it'd be a great little utility pistol.

  • @FuzzyDicePimp Thanks for watching. I think it'll find a use around here, till something better comes along :)

  • I need to get a gun :(

  • @ I've had my permit for about two years and I'm never worried about being taken advantage of. You of course need to have the ability to use it if and when it becomes necessary. Always being aware of your surroundings is equally important. Another bit of advice to pass along to your friends on Facebook and possibly the most important, should you ever be taken by surprise: NEVER,EVER go to a second location. Make a stand where you're at.:)

  • would this gun run good with the winchester white box full medal jacket?

  • @interceptortow Kimber does not recommend it. They recommend Federal Hydra Shok JHP, Remington Golden Sabre HP, Hornady TAT JHP all in 127-147 grain. It's made specifically to fire high pressure ammo, which is why the recoil spring is so stout.

  • its nice looking, kimber big name....

  • @glenrushh Thanks. Gotta take a look at the Sig P938, I believe it may be just the ticket I've been looking for :)

  • You sure sound disappointed. Do you think you will end up keeping it?

  • @jstmo95 I'll keep it but was a bit disappointed with the takedown problems, I'll get over it :) I'll buy a SIG P938 to help me cheer up :)

  • Holy smokes that reminds me of a Kahr P9 or PM9, rather - aside from the safety mechanism.

  • @TheSoundBarrier Very much so. :) I like the ergonomics of it, feels just right in the hand :)

  • Sweet looking little gun. I wish i can afford one. Kimber makes excellent pistols huh.. I'd say you have the coolest collection of guns/pistols here on youtube. My monitor is always wet with drool everytime you show those puppies.

  • @87971045 Thank you very much. I own a few Kimbers and I've found them to be quality weapons :)

  • Chuck how are you gonna mount that bayonet to that little pistol?!?!?! Lobl:) hey there is a Kimber Manufacturing facility just a ways down the road from me I should buzz down there and check those out! There are alot of Kimber custom shop pistols in the local gunshops.

  • @Birchbarkjohnny You're lucky to be in such close proximity to them. If I had that opportunity I'm afraid I'd run out of money :)

  • for that kind of money they should def give you a couple mags

  • @JesseLJohnson You're right, it's like buying a new car with no spare tire :)

  • @MyHollowpoint my CTS-V didn't come with a spare they have them shitty run flats can't get very good traction with them things guess they are all shipped from Caddy without a spare

  • bullshit they only give you one mag with the pistol

  • @JesseLJohnson Yeah, cheap bastards aren't they :)

  • Looks like a sweet lttle pocket gun!!

  • @GunznGear Thanks Van, I'm sure I'll warm up to it ..Probably won't be able to hit a barn door but that's minor :)

  • I really want one of those badboys. Good score Chuck.

  • @MakingMasterClass You just don't see any around here. I'm fortunate to have snagged this. :)

  • that would be a great carry gun, enjoy.

  • @deadgameguns That was my intention. Time will tell. It's compact, light and has a carry meld. It would be ideal.

  • Congrats man!

  • @ShepherdDawg Thanks, I'm going to try and learn more about it and eventually maybe carry it.

  • The sudden release of this gas into an area of the firearm not designed to contain it could cause serious injury or death to you and bystanders as the receiver disintegrates. Other than that, it's a real blast to shoot!

  • @sjones5674 I've got all the "stuff" that goes with it and will learn more about it and then give it a whirl in the backyard :)

  • You should have a little gauge there with your Mosin Nagant for adjusting headspace. Too little headspace will prevent the bolt from closing completely (or not at all) on a cartridge. Too much headspace could result in a gap between the bolt face and

the base of the cartridge (or a gap between the rim and chamber) that could cause a release of high pressure gas into the receiver when you fire a round. The sudden release of this gas into an area of the firearm not designed to contain it could ca

  • Awesome Chuck! Hey i'll trade you! I just got a Kel Tec PF9 with your name on it! Just somethin to think about buddy! Store that thought in your mind and let it simmer like Ragu sauce in a pan.

  • @breatheeasy420 Thanks for the offer but I gots to give it a chance, lol. :) I'll keep ya in mind :)

  • @MyHollowpoint Ok buddy i here yah. I'll be right here waiting for yah. Don't worry the Kel Tec ain't goin nowhere. ;)

  • nice gun i feel the sameway about strickerfire guns i like 1911 type two great video

  • @interceptortow Thanks for watching. I need to learn a lot more about the striker system before I feel comfortable with it. I want back up safety on top of safetys :) Nothing would be more embarassing and problem causing than to have one accidently go off.

  • Very Nice Chuck!! sweet little Kimber!! :))

  • @TheLocknLoadChannel Don't need it, don't want it but Erica doesn't have one :) Or a Vaquero for that matter Lol. :)

  • @MyHollowpoint But he does have a Mosin though!! :))

  • @TheLocknLoadChannel That's why I bought two,lol. :)

  • @MyHollowpoint LMAO!! :)

  • @MyHollowpoint Send it up here to Ky,I'll give it a great home and keep it well fed LOL.

  • @ammohead73 I'm sure it'd eat bacon right up,lol. :) I was at Ft. Knox, love Kentucky!

  • I have a Solo and have put quite a few rounds through mine. Save yourself some grief, stick to the recommended ammo list while breaking it in. Mine is a jamomatic when I try to run any 115 grain rounds through it. Only "practice" round I've found to be reliable is Blazer 124 gr. The other hollow point rounds get rather expensive for practice.

The striker is fine, just use that safety. It keeps the gun safe.

  • @linuxed1 Thanks for watching and the info. First time I've seen a mfg. specify specific ammo. I'll follow their instructions to a T :)

  • Thats a fine looking pistol my friend, looks like it would make a great pocket pistol

  • @brotherskeepers111 Thanks Mike, I'm sure I'll grow to love it as I do all these other pistols. Never met a gun I didn't like :)

  • Chuck, that is one cool little Kimber man; I have been intrigued since they were announced. Loved your very graphic description of your takedown experience, LOL. I think it would probably be too much for me to manhandle around too. Nice review, thanks for all the details brother.

  • @GunSmokeGuy I probably just need more practice. Ya know the first impression is a lasting impression :) Thanks for your kind comments :)

  • Oh... you got your self a Mosin Nagant!! Good choice Chuck!!

  • @MrKZizzle Yep, can't wait to shoot his expensive sniper rifle :)

  • @MyHollowpoint LOL... That's probably the best molah that anyone will send on a cheap high powered rifle. Did you check out my vid on my Mosin's? I ended up sporterizing (probably didnt spell that right) one of them and kept one original.

  • @MrKZizzle Haven't seen the vid yet but I will. Don't know a damn thing about them :)

  • @MyHollowpoint They are sweet. Nothing to them really.Just have to make sure that the firing pin is in the correct spot before you take it to the range. Did you get a firing pin toll with it??

  • @MrKZizzle Don't know what that is but by the time it gets to the range I will, lol. :)

  • @MyHollowpoint Sorry for the type"O". I meant firing pin tool. I have a vid on that too. Just make sure that the tool that came with your Mosin is the correct tool. Let me know if you have any questions.

  • @MrKZizzle Thanks! Yeah it came with all kinds of little gadgets, gotta get the cosmolene off first . Wondered what all those things were, haven't touched them yet.

  • That's a very nice pistol Chuck, once you get used to the striker fire pistol and the trigger. I picked up one @ the local gun shop just to feel it in my hand. Small enough to conceal, but for the money I probably would buy the Kahr PM45. Just as compact and much better trigger and about the same price. I do like Kimbers as I own a few. What the hell.. take it to the range and see what's up, then do an update vid and tells what you really think... Thanks for the vid!

  • @MrKZizzle I'll be doing an update for sure. It's only fair :)

  • OMG, Chuck! You got Miss Battle Born knocking on your door, there. She's a real looker and smart, too!

  • @sjones5674 Makes my heart palpitate :)

  • when i woke up this morning this video sais ruger solo! lol well weres my damn highway patrolman

  • @23mrcowboys You're seeing things,lol. :) In the safe, it's a keeper :)

  • @MrSwiftndeadly Whose ebomey? lol. :)

  • Chuck that's a girl gun and I don't know if you've noticed or not, but I'm a girl. I will kindly take it off your hands for you. You're welcome.

  • @MissBattleBorn I hadn't noticed either the gun or you :) Who are you again? Maybe we could work out a trade, lol. :)

  • @MyHollowpoint Well, aren't you a saucy little minx! lol

Trade? I'll send ebomey over to cook you a nice big pot of chili in the nude and you send me the gun. Sounds like a fair trade

  • @MissBattleBorn The chili sounds a little bit too rich for my taste so I'll pass. Surely we could come up with something a little less filling :)

  • Nice new toy. It sounds like it's going to be a dust collector for you. I hope we get to see the part when you shoot with it.

  • @sabr686 I'll make some shooting video's, just haven't worked out the logistics yet. Probably have to evevtually get in front of the camera :) Most of my pistols don't see a lot of action but it's a horrible disease, just like buying 'em :)

  • Good looking pistol chuck. Garth agreed now he want to see you shoot it. Man that is one sweet CCW pistol and reliable. Are those the grips that cam on them or are they aftermarket ones?

  • @guns4funca They came with the pistol. The rosewood grips looked real nice too, actually better. If I can find an aftermarket pair like them I'll probably get them :)

  • Sweet gun. I'm sure you will like!!

  • @slinginLEAD10 I'll give it a try, who knows, maybe it'll end up being my favorite:)

  • What a little beauty. Nice vid I really love kimber!!!!

  • @bLaCkOps226dark Thanks for watching. It'll grow on me. It's really a perfect carry size firearm.

  • And don't pay Eric no nevermind; he's just a bully!

  • @sjones5674 And a rump ranger :)

  • Hey Chuck, I don't know what the innards of a striker fired Kimber looks like, but anytime I start feeling worrisome about my condition one horizontal carry Glock 21, I just pull the slide off and gaze at the plunger; it ain't gonna accidentally discharge unless the trigger is intentionally pulled. Great vid...

  • @sjones5674 I'll get it all figured out sooner or later and it does have the thumb safety in the mix too :) I bought it from a gunsmith, next time I'm in there I'll get him to explain :)

  • Nice guy .... your such an asshole they where just trying to get rid of you!

I can't wait to hear your thoughts on shooting it.

I would like to see you rolling around on the floor with it.

It's about fucking time you bought a Mosin!

  • @ebomey I thought you were going to be nice until Sunday, now I'm disappointed and hurt at the same time. I did better than that, I bought two :) Now, if you don't mind, it's time for my nap, lol. :)

  • @MyHollowpoint

I had two, But I decided it was uncool to own more then one of them.

  • @ebomey Maybe I need a 3rd one :)

  • Nice little pistol Chuck. She's a beauty. I love those Kimbers.

  • @gunnwild1 I really like the ergonomics of this one. Just going to take a little getting use to it :)

  • Those Solos are smooth little guns, and they feel great in hand. I have yet to shoot one, though. Can't wait to hear how you like it!

  • @LbrtyNJustice4All Thank you, it just feels right to me but I don't think I can get past it being striker fired. I'll have to make a shooting video one day. Thanks for watching :)

  • I agree the Kimber is not for everyone. It is difficult to pull the slide back and disassemble and reassemble. It, however, is a sweet shooter with the proper ammo. Good video.

  • @FirearmPatriot Thanks for watching. There's just not much pistol to hold onto when disassembling this small pistol. Full size Kimbers aren't a walk in the park but at least you have more room :)

  • That's because you're a 1911 kind of man lol

  • Seems like a good gun for the price.

  • @stainlessfour5 It seems to be. Feels great in the hand and a solid weapon. I just can't seem to get past my lack of knowledge on striker fored :0

  • Seems bizarre to me that they put a safety on it at all. Especially with a 6 1/2 pound trigger. I wouldn't hesitate to carry it chambered and NOT locked (like a glock) so long as my holster had a good trigger guard.

  • @grishfish I guess it just boils down to what I feel comfortable with. Seen a lot of people shoot themselves with striker fired and they were more knowledgeable than me.

  • the sig 238 in 9mm alures me , i want to handle it to decide if i like for sure.

  • i carry an older hk p-7 , everyone says 9mm is bad to carry , but i can shoot 4 shots on a quarter at 25 yards , other than being lighter i see no advantage over my gun. but it looks very nice ,that black grip mdl would be my choice . much better than 380 acp. that seems to be the craze now they are moving on to 9mm to carry.

  • @glock2026 Sig has come out with a P238 that is a 9mm. I'm going to give it a look when I see one. I carry their .380 condition 1 .

  • Hey I like that...Good review Chuck...

  • @RisArms Thanks Matt :) The bayonet is for the fat Irishman :)

  • @MyHollowpoint Oh My...LOL!!!!

  • There was an article in American Rifleman about the Solo. I didn't read it because I am cheap and would probably not buy a Kimber. I don't have a problem with striker fire guns. Just as with any gun, keep your finger off the trigger and you should be fine. I carry a Kel-Tec P3AT, and it has an internal hammer, DAO. I don't mind the long hard trigger pull because when SHTF, I am sure I will be able find enough strength to pull the trigger...lol

  • @saltyshellback I read the article and just HAD to have it :) Quit giving all your money to Nuts :)

  • @MyHollowpoint LOL...Nuts needs the money to buy DIllhole a shirt :-)

  • Good info there!!!

  • @lhusby Thank you. They say the break in period is 2 dozen rounds :)

  • very nice little 9mm.that is a weird lookin barrell.looks like they tried to shoot a 45acp and bulbed it out..Eric loves anything that has a swell in it! lol!

  • @1dabirdman I'll take your word for his likes and dislikes,lol. :)

  • The other looks like a pig sticker from a Mosin.

  • @hazman440 You got it! n Irishman prod stick :)

  • @MyHollowpoint Ha ! Ha ! Irishman ... I can see where this is goin .

  • Looks great! I don't like the idea that it is picky on ammo. But that is just me. Sounds like you need to take it back and get something you will be more comfortable with and is easier to take down. You will never want to clean it lol

  • @Lookinformemarbles I waited afor one to show up, guess I'll keep it :) Can't have too many guns :)

  • That's a sweetie Chuck ... if you don't carry it , give to Becky.

  • @hazman440 Becky ain't getting another gun from this boy, she don't use the ones she's got :)

  • Nice buy chuck! I need a full size 9mm though, got rid of my XD, looking at the hi-power

  • @TheHobbyistChannel I'm looking for a pistol that's a bit lighter and I'll eventually find it. I carry the p238 cocked and locked and now they have a 9mm. :)

  • I read where you have to replace the recoil spring after 1000 rounds. I don't know if that was a misprint, but I was rather surprised that it wasn't more durable. I wish Kimber would supply more than one magazines with their pistols, though.

  • @thebudgetarmory1 It wasn't a misprint and you're right about the mags :)

  • Well, you could carry it in "Condition Butterscotch" if you're uncomfortable with the striker! :-)

I've molested one of these, and wouldn't mind having one, but as you said they're scarse as hen's teeth.

    Thanks for sharing, friend.

  • @kg9pz I like butterscotch in a malt. What is it in a pistol ?

  • @MyHollowpoint You'll have to watch The Yankee Marshal's video about it, Chuck. I couldn't begin to explain it here! LOL!

  • @kg9pz I hatte being preached to but I'll give it a shot,lol. :)

  • Nice Job Bro!

  • @bluetunder40 Thank you, glad you liked it:)

  • That is a nice looking pistola! What ammo did they recommend? If you shoot it a lot maybe you will carry it once you feel it's reliable. That bayonet would come in handy at the buffet!! Great video Chuck!

  • @Mr45Bullitt Damn forgot to hit "post", now I have to go look the ammo up again :) Great idea for the bayonet though. Let me go look it up, be right back, only for you Bill, lol. Fedral Hydra Shok JHP, Remington Golden Sabre HP, Hornady TAT JHP all in 124 or 147 grains. There ya go Lil Bill, sorry ya had to wait for me to figure out what the hell you were talking about :)

  • @MyHollowpoint I didn't want to know just thought that would keep you hopping!! LOL! No seriously I just womdered about that. Thanks only you would do that. That's why you got to the front of the line:) Seems like they want a punch hence the stiff recoil spring.

  • @Mr45Bullitt I'm not about to ignore the CEO of the Inner Circle, lol. :) I'm not like Eric. I panicked when I saw I had :)

  • "BULBOUS"....Watch it! You're gonna get Eric excited all over, again.

  • @sjones5674 He's tried to call me 3 times already! Hope I can learn to edit :)

  • Nice looking pistol!

  • @alleric357 Thanks Alex! :)

  • @MyHollowpoint@ I agree about the striker fire, I prefer a hammer fired pistol!

  • Another great gun Chuck. I like it

  • @bperk80 Thanks Bobby, I'm trying to like it enough to carry. Might be some time getting here though :)

  • Nice piece of equipment man

  • @TheBlayzinAsian420 I like it, just don't love it :)

  • Nice looking Kimber Solo those things are real shooters, Great Review Chuck

  • @GARYMANDIEVAN Thanks Gary, couldn't wait to get it, now not too keen on carrying it. I guess it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks :)

  • you bought a MOSIN NAGANT?

  • @TADPOLE696 Two,lol. :)

  • @MyHollowpoint nice i still haven't shot mine

  • nice review... i think it would be too small for my hands.. LOL... monkey on a football.. thats like eric having sex

  • @TADPOLE696 I'll have to take your word for it, you seem to know him better than me :)

  • @TADPOLE696 late nite skype sessions reveal a lot about a person... lol

  • Hi, that is a good looking gun, and as you say they are rare as Hen 's teeth as Kimber can't make enough of them at the moment. I can tell from your tone of voice you are not happy with it, as you don't sound your normal 'chipper' self. Maybe too much time monkeying around on the football has worn you out. At the end of the day you are only going to carry what you are comfortable with. Thanks for sharing the Kimber Solo it is another gorgeous weapon to add to your collection. All the very

  • @BonnevilleTB7 Thank you! Had my heart set on carrying this and getting off my cuff but guess I'll have to wait a little longer. Sig has a P238 now that is 9mm, gonna have to look into that one. Disappointed with the take down I attempted, those springs are stout and not much to hold onto while holding it back to install the slide stop. Maybe practice will help and I can make another short vid on that :)

  • Awesome Review, Chuck!

It is a nice pistol. I've heard good and bad...Too bad it's a Kimber. I'll never own another.
