GT was good solely for the action. It wasn't one attack an episode like in DBZ, and that is because the story was simpler. The battles were epic, and only made better once Goku hit SSJ4.

Ssj4 is different because they are tapping into the primeval ape power thus they have a more ape like appearance. Thinking of that, their physiology must change as they are a mix of their saiyan and ape form. Hard to say since it isn't a real physical possibility.
@playstation444 That's why GT is bad among far worse reasons. It's indeed a fact, written on paper by Akira Toriyama himself, that the SSJ transformation increases the Saiyans power by 50, not 100. No matter how strong Goku becomes, he can't change the multiplier that a SSJ transformation gives him. He can become stronger all he wants but becoming a SSJ increases his power by 50, not more and no less. EVER!

You also have to remember that Goku was holding back a great deal of reserve before transforming so his power really could have boosted 100x from that point although the Super Saiyan transformation would still retain it's 50x increase characteristic.
@DOHCEJ22E1 No actually the point is that the GT staff just fucked up. They gave him the wrong number, nothing more. Searching for an excuse that he could have increased his power 100x after becoming a SSJ is meaningless, it's an error by the writers/dub writers.
I know that! LOL! No matter how powerful a Saiyan is, their powers can only go up 50x as a Super Saiyan. There are more errors than one in this case, the fact of GT even existing is among the greatest error of them all.
@DOHCEJ22E1 Well, i wouldn't say that. True, most of the story is flawed, doesn't have the same suspense and power as DB/DBZ but it does have some good things. SSJ4 for example is by far the coolest thing since SSJ3 (both are equally cool in my opinion), Gogeta is now canon rather than a movie only fusion, Vegeta finally becomes Goku's equal after countless years (give or take some powerlevel between them) and GT has some awesome big villains in Baby Vegeta, Super 17 and the evil Shenrons.

@054martinm Yeah, I can believe that. Most of the times when people are not seen speaking, there is a moment of silence in the original Japanese dub. English dubs have a habit of breaking silent moments by adding some dialogue to it that's not in the original dub. Not sure if it's the same here, but I'll gladly believe the 100x multiplier is a dub error rather than an error of GT.
Dragon Ball GT RUINED the Super Saiyan concept. What does SS4 look like?? A human-monkey mutant! Seriously, they should've stuck with the "golden warrior" theme. Super Saiyan 3 looks like the coolest level, in my eyes!!

But I don't think they screwed up ss4 at all they actually did a good job with what u called a "human monkey mutant" Since originally the saiyins turned into apes to show their true power. But since Goku grew his tail back out he turned into a ssj while an ape at the same time but also found out how to maintain his ape strength into his normal body which is why it looked the way it did. One of the very few logical things GT ever did.
@Segovia06 What always bugged me was why did the first 3 Super Saiyan levels have blonde hair? I guessed it was because they are radiating with so much energy that it literally illuminates them, but then why is it that the level 4 Super Saiyan doesn't have energy radiating off? Shouldn't there also be energy exerting around them since it's, so far, their post powerful Mode? If anything, the Level 4's design doesn't make sense when compared to the other three.

@EnableTheOwn if you look throughout the DBZ/GT series. It is obvious the characters are able to control how much damage they allow to the surround area. An example being majin vegetas final flash attack only destroying a lake, while normal non-majin SSJ vegeta was able to destroy a blast capable of destroying the planet with one hand.

never really liked db gt, but it had a few good moments. when watching it i really felt like the animations were so much worse :/ , not only that but some things were sooo awkward, watch goku ssj4 vs monkey baby (vegeta), when goku got hit to the ground he fell super slow and BOOM uber explosion of the impact on the groud o.O. also can't stand that goku became small again :/, but ssj4 goku does look great

Ssj4 is different because they are tapping into the primeval ape power thus they have a more ape like appearance. Thinking of that, their physiology must change as they are a mix of their saiyan and ape form. Hard to say since it isn't a real physical possibility.

@playstation444 That's why GT is bad among far worse reasons. It's indeed a fact, written on paper by Akira Toriyama himself, that the SSJ transformation increases the Saiyans power by 50, not 100. No matter how strong Goku becomes, he can't change the multiplier that a SSJ transformation gives him. He can become stronger all he wants but becoming a SSJ increases his power by 50, not more and no less. EVER!

You also have to remember that Goku was holding back a great deal of reserve before transforming so his power really could have boosted 100x from that point although the Super Saiyan transformation would still retain it's 50x increase characteristic.

@DOHCEJ22E1 Well, i wouldn't say that. True, most of the story is flawed, doesn't have the same suspense and power as DB/DBZ but it does have some good things. SSJ4 for example is by far the coolest thing since SSJ3 (both are equally cool in my opinion), Gogeta is now canon rather than a movie only fusion, Vegeta finally becomes Goku's equal after countless years (give or take some powerlevel between them) and GT has some awesome big villains in Baby Vegeta, Super 17 and the evil Shenrons.

The only reason it didn't do anything to Super 17 is because if it had, Super 17 wouldn't have had a good final battle against Goku. Unlike Cell, Super 17 can't regenerate wounds.

@054martinm Yeah, I can believe that. Most of the times when people are not seen speaking, there is a moment of silence in the original Japanese dub. English dubs have a habit of breaking silent moments by adding some dialogue to it that's not in the original dub. Not sure if it's the same here, but I'll gladly believe the 100x multiplier is a dub error rather than an error of GT.

But I don't think they screwed up ss4 at all they actually did a good job with what u called a "human monkey mutant" Since originally the saiyins turned into apes to show their true power. But since Goku grew his tail back out he turned into a ssj while an ape at the same time but also found out how to maintain his ape strength into his normal body which is why it looked the way it did. One of the very few logical things GT ever did.

I guessed it was because they are radiating with so much energy that it literally illuminates them, but then why is it that the level 4 Super Saiyan doesn't have energy radiating off? Shouldn't there also be energy exerting around them since it's, so far, their post powerful Mode? If anything, the Level 4's design doesn't make sense when compared to the other three.

@EnableTheOwn if you look throughout the DBZ/GT series. It is obvious the characters are able to control how much damage they allow to the surround area. An example being majin vegetas final flash attack only destroying a lake, while normal non-majin SSJ vegeta was able to destroy a blast capable of destroying the planet with one hand.

And it's not just with Goku. Even Vegeta doesn't turn Super in all of his fights, which is not like Vegeta. Once Vegeta knew how to turn Super, he never fought in his base form again.

Such as when he fought that troll early in this series to protect the bear and her cub. He turns SSJ, beats the shit out of the troll, passes out, and doesnt remember destroying the troll.
