I love beat um ups but this was the worse port of Final Fight i prefered more the Sega CD version, because it has all 3 characters, the co-op, and the time attack and it's the best homeport nearly looks identical to the arcade game check it out if you get a chance i highly recommend it

Final Fight for the SNES was awful, considering how badly butchered it was, and with how much stuff it was missing. The Sega CD version was definitely the way to go when it came to playing F.F. at home for many years, unless you either got the PCB to the game for the arcade, and when arcade perfect ports were released on the first volume of the Capcom Classic Collection compilation.
Yeah this game is very hard but i love it the final figh 2 was not as good as the first one since cody and guy are not in the game but guys sister was but the gameplay was the same they should add some new stuff to the game play, and Final Fight 3 was a GOOD game they add some new moves for Guy and they can run but i would have prefered that in the FF3 the story were about the return of the mad gear that would have been cool
The reason they didn't get the police involved was because Mad Gear had a mole in the police department, Edi E, and he would've informed Mad Gear that Haggar got the police involved.
actually, i own final fight, and it's not like the game isint good. in fact, it's a geat game.the challenge is there, the graphics are good, and the music is exellent. you can make the game a little less hard by pressing a,b,y,x,l,r, and start. this will let you open the option screen where you can boost your lifes from 5 to 8. you can also decrease the difficulty. id give this game 8.5/10, but thats just me.

you are talking out of your ass. force open your eyelids, the graphics aren't 100% identical to the arcade version. the animation is poorer, the characters are smaller, there's less of them on screen at once, there's a level and character missing, there's background details missing like the swinging hand rails on the train. the music is way inferior, totally different. and the beginning and end level animations are completely stripped. and there's censorship in the western versions.
the sound effects aren't as good either. you know about the censorship and character removal at least, which in itself is enough to tell u that it's not 100% arcade perfect.
u might also like to know that it's impossible for it to rip off moves from characters in a game that came out 'after' this was released. it's the other games that ripped this off.
get your facts right when you do reviews, u end up looking like a fool otherwise.

Actually they got some characters and made a new game. Later in alpha 3 they had some final fight characters, like guy, cody(in jail for some reason),the boss at 3:23,the 4th boss in ff2, and later in S.F.A.3 max, a boss from ff3 max, and its the same company

Guys Final Fight is the Original Not Streets Of Rage. Dont Get mi Wrong Streets of RAge is A good Game but its the copy Of final fight. face it RAge copied Final.
1. In the history section you should mentioned that many of the characters in this game later appeared in Street Fighter games. Cody, Guy, and Haggar appeared in the Street Fighter Alpha series (Haggar as a cameo) while Andore and Poison (Andore was renamed Hugo) were in SFIII.
2. Mike Haggar is said to resemble Jesse Ventura. Haggar was a wrestler and a mayor. Ventura was a wrestler and a governor. Weird thing is, he became governor AFTER this game was made. Capcom = psychic.
I don't mean to offend you because I think your reviews are great but I don't see how the special attack in this game's a rip off of the hurricane kick in Street Fighter. Both FF and SF are made by Capcom

It really doesn't matter what Capcom says about whether she's "supposed" to be female or not. It's just a bunch of pixels on a video screen. If it looks like a female, then it will be perceived as a female, and that's all that matters.

Parts of the Review I used my copy of Final Fight Guy. But then again you people probably already guessed that. I own Final Fight One for the GBA and I like it much better. I also have Final Fight on a Capcom collection to.
What makes no sense to me that In the Streets of Rage 3 they out did them selfs with censorship by clothing the Main Character as well the enemies more Why did they do that when in the 1st 2 games they did not? While in the Japanese version Aka Bare Knuckle 3 they didnt do any censorship. Also you forgot to mention in your review that they make a Final Fight Guy where they replaced Cody with Guy but I bet that you knew that. Over all Great Review I loved the final fight games Especially 2 and 3.
Streets Of Rage was way after this. One of the main characters I think her name is Blaze. She was a woman and the main enemies were men and they did beat her up. So why she wasn't censored or removed from the game makes no sense honestly. Capcom hot the short end of censorship deal if you ask me.

Great review. The snes version of this game is very weak compared to other version.
I own Final Fight One for GBA. It has the missing level, it has co-op (if a friend owns a gba and the cart which none of mine do) it has added cut scenes before each boss, and it even has two unlockable characters: Cody and Guy from street fighter alpha.
Only thing is, the game is renamed "Final Fight One" as if they were going to re-release 2 and 3 eventually, but they never did.
..y...why take away the girl?...i...i mean...exthereme vollyball was stuffed with em...(different aage but still...some older games are the same thing..just that was the only game that came to mind)

if you want to play the ARCADE' version of the first FINAL FIGHT you should get capcom classic collection for the PS2 and XBOX or even on the PSP. i think it's one of the best capcom collections of old school games from the arcade days i even play

This shit was not 100% spot on to the Arcade.

1. In the history section you should mentioned that many of the characters in this game later appeared in Street Fighter games. Cody, Guy, and Haggar appeared in the Street Fighter Alpha series (Haggar as a cameo) while Andore and Poison (Andore was renamed Hugo) were in SFIII.
2. Mike Haggar is said to resemble Jesse Ventura. Haggar was a wrestler and a mayor. Ventura was a wrestler and a governor. Weird thing is, he became governor AFTER this game was made. Capcom = psychic.

i played this on ps2(capcom collection vol 1) and its funny when you play in 2player with guy and cody since it was my first time playing i didnt know what was going to happen i was guy and my sis was cody and at the end (if you dont know) guy kicks cody's ass it was funny

Yes Kids shouldn't be learning about that. Teens are another story. Hence why Nintendo didn't go that way and just created there own characters Billy and Sid. Whom are in all 4 Final Fights on the Super Nintendo btw. Just so you know by four Final Fights I am also counting Final Fight Guy even though it is still the 1st Final Fight. But it was released after the 1st Snes Final Fight.

It really doesn't matter what Capcom says about whether she's "supposed" to be female or not. It's just a bunch of pixels on a video screen. If it looks like a female, then it will be perceived as a female, and that's all that matters.

I used to live in Ny yrs ago. Ive moved all over the us because my Dad is a minister. Then when I got Married my Wife and moved to Albany lived there for 6 months but we still Live in the east Coast. Eventually we won't settle down in NY again maybe in a few more yrs.

Great review as always KW. I regreted getting this game, it didn't have that "magic" that the arcade version had. Music/voice acting/2player option etc. Anyways, u mentioned something about going to the bronx zoo. Where are u from? I'm from the bronx myself and just found it curious.

great job on the review knightwing and pretty much agree with everything you said about the game especialy when you mention the bad part about the game that the game can be a unforgiving difficult game i happen to download this game on the wii virtual concole mounths ago just to see how good it is and i kind of thought the game would fairly easy almost like the batman returns snes game which was your last severial review which also you the game is almost a clone of final fight

Parts of the Review I used my copy of Final Fight Guy. But then again you people probably already guessed that. I own Final Fight One for the GBA and I like it much better. I also have Final Fight on a Capcom collection to.

What makes no sense to me that In the Streets of Rage 3 they out did them selfs with censorship by clothing the Main Character as well the enemies more Why did they do that when in the 1st 2 games they did not? While in the Japanese version Aka Bare Knuckle 3 they didnt do any censorship. Also you forgot to mention in your review that they make a Final Fight Guy where they replaced Cody with Guy but I bet that you knew that. Over all Great Review I loved the final fight games Especially 2 and 3.

Streets Of Rage was way after this. One of the main characters I think her name is Blaze. She was a woman and the main enemies were men and they did beat her up. So why she wasn't censored or removed from the game makes no sense honestly. Capcom hot the short end of censorship deal if you ask me.

Great review. The snes version of this game is very weak compared to other version.
I own Final Fight One for GBA. It has the missing level, it has co-op (if a friend owns a gba and the cart which none of mine do) it has added cut scenes before each boss, and it even has two unlockable characters: Cody and Guy from street fighter alpha.
Only thing is, the game is renamed "Final Fight One" as if they were going to re-release 2 and 3 eventually, but they never did.

yeah' but even STREETS OF RAGE" was more of a batter arcade' action fighter then FINAL FIGHT' but it doesn't mean i don't like Final Fight games

if you want to play the ARCADE' version of the first FINAL FIGHT you should get capcom classic collection for the PS2 and XBOX or even on the PSP. i think it's one of the best capcom collections of old school games from the arcade days i even play
