Conrad actually has a tendency to try to put his right ear over the "top" of the guitar so he can hear it better near the sound hole(s). He plays and learns songs purely by ear. Conrad has extremely limited vision with one eye (about 15% of normal vision), and none with the other and can't see the frets. When he plays with the band he also turns his head so he can hear the bass and drums a little better over the guitar amp.
