  • @applecrumping33 i appreciate that fam a lot of people these dayz just think hip hop i s wat plays today well i agree that it is rap but its not the spirit of hiphop it feels good to hear that come from another person in another country

  • @MistaChubbz1 Real Talk!

  • wow thank you!!!

  • Look in the Dictionary...and search for Hip Hop and within the Definition you`ll see this...NAS truly is God`s Son.

  • It should be a requirement to take at least one demo track this ill into an A&R's office, when you try to get signed, or the A&R has the right to shoot you in the head. That would solve a lot of the problems in modern hip hop all at once, I say.

  • He's the best . . . dat ain't HARD to tell

  • i can't even speak......this is omg....what has rap come to nowadays? Mane this is smooth

  • holy shit. just damn. wow.

  • instrumental would be beautiful

  • Comment removed

  • @RapPwnage Mmhm, MJ is FTW bro.

This version I prefer over the official one.

  • This is smooth. Sounds like Human nature in the background, is that right?

  • @RapPwnage Yes, it MJ. I don't recognize the sax, though.

MCing over awesome tunes - I believe this is one of the five pillars.

  • @RapPwnage yep...he sampled it (:

  • How do I get the MP3 version of this???

  • i love this song

  • i bet krs-1 loves this track

  • Nas hasn't always had the best ear for beats. Its funny cus nas wanted this version on his cd along with the original version of represent, but both preemo and large pro remixed both to make them classics.

  • @ChetLinkton that's cuz Nas is Old school, imagine yourself as a MC of that era, what kinda music were you gonna like, this track is dope either way. I'm pretty sure a lot of people would have liked the song regardless of the beat changin.

  • even better than the album version

  • who disliked this video? the black man who was caught by the clan that still couldn't hang with this?

  • Kid. I think I prefer this to the proper version. Dope.

  • Nas is clearly one of the illest mc out there.

Damn, both version are such beasts.

  • A black man caught by the KLAN couldn't HANG WITH THIS - Nasir Jones.

God damn that line is harsh. I love this and I never get tired of hearing it

  • He sampled human nature in this song

  • /watch?v=u8rVQswCzKM

  • damn this is ill! my fav Nas joint.

  • the best ever point, blank period.

  • True MC'in like this has basically disappeared in the wake of a 12-15-year wave of southern crunk and commercial snap, so this pure NY sound is a true relic. This track just can't be touched, and in my opinion is absolutely flawless. Nas is the illest, more complex than B.I.G. and much better flow than Pac. Somebody PLEASE bring this NY sound back onto the surface so that people can learn what real Hip Hop is...fuck that ELECTRO HOP BULLSHIT....word is bond dunn.

  • @Canali305 I feel you!!! Real talk!! Yo....go check out Juell Ortiz on Youtube and/or Amazon!! He is spitting something ridiculous!! He is a throwback to the Nas era!! Listen to how Juell 'attacks' the beat!! You should enjoy him!! But yeah, Nas is the BEST and that's not even a debatable issue!! He reps the streets 100%!! Peace!

  • @Canali305 thank you!

  • @Canali305 Totally agreed. I'm the one, check me out. Search "Kounsel" on facebook and soundcloud

  • one word for you fools... im bein R rated!!

  • "hold a mac 11 and attack a reverand" haha gota love that

  • Never heard this before. Nice. You won't hear rhyming like this again.

  • Anyone knows if there's an instrumental off this in here? It would be even better to write to (= Strictly pure wisdom this song here....

  • wow!!!!

  • this beat is so tight.

  • "I call you tattoo - you never come off"... whoa!!!!

  • dam hezznaztee

  • i luv fucken naS yll hear hea fuck all u haterz

  • sounds hot .... but the other version sound like he found himself and sound a lot more confident and relaxed..... this is hard tho.

  • this nigga said "you might as well be a singer but ain't harmin' Nas (Harmonize)...yea this version is lyrically rawer than the official version but he flows crazy on the album version. They both hot though

This is one of The * finest* examples of Tru-Hip Hop.

  • @MultiWowwtf hell yeah, back when there was doug e. fresh, biz markie, and big daddy kane.

  • fo real man rappers nowadys needa take notes from dis song

man cant go a day wiout listenin 2 dis song

  • 3 Verses of genius.

  • @ALLMIGHTYWU PURE genious

  • @ALLMIGHTYWU its funny how just half a verse from nas makes lil gayne sound like celine dion

  • gay wayne and soulja fag need to take notes,

it's tracks like this that give hip hop a wonderful memory, cuz today it's off the respirator.

  • I agree with u 100% medmel. The illmatic version is awesome but this is just lyrically raw. Any1 whos heard this cant tell me that nas isnt the greatest ever.

  • "Your style is fake, snake, well dramatised

You might as well be a singer but aint harmonized

Here's the break, I'ma translate lyrics so well, I excel

    It aint hard to tell"

    So awesome.

  • the world became a better place the day i first heard this song

  • Everyone on your list but sellout jay z should record an album together.

  • i cant think of a greater hip hop track than this

  • Greatest rapper ever, no doubt..

  • No shit it is.

  • sample inspired many hooks+ songs including this...

  • origin of : beautiful-damien marley - bobby brown ,melody from hook .

  • ahh thanks for droppin that knowledge. I was wondering...

  • Nas is a Legend, It ain't hard to tell.

Also this is my fav rap song, possibly fav song ever. (this version and the other as well; maybe the later more than the first.)

  • i put this against anything dead or alive.....north south east west>>>>>what.

  • Wow, I never heard this version before....

  • kelis was a gold digger "it aint hard to tell" lol

  • "you might as well be a singer but ain't harmonize (harmin nas)" lol damn

  • nas, one of the best to ever do it, this song speaks for itself, nas indeed prevails "your style is fake snake well dramatized, you might as well be a singer but ain't harmin nas" lol ill

  • Nas is the rapper with the most absolute style, and whatever comes good out of life.

This rap was recorded way back when and is still tite to death.

    INCREDIBLE ! ! ! ! !

  • look up nas demo on youtube.. theres a guy with an account, i think its called eskimo with numbers at the end.. its something like that, but he has nas' demo for download.. it was from before he released illmatic

  • dope as hell!! i gotta get this

  • theres a link bro or send me your email and ill send it to you

  • so this is really the original track ?!?!?!

  • yep

  • GREATEST

  • This particular track sounds very very Rakim-influenced..Just his whole style is almost precisely like Ra's. Obviously the content and obviously the multi style of flow..But also how he performs the words, where some parts are lower pronounced and then abruptly slightly louder at the end. Exactly like Ra. Sick Raw as track.

  • @Tha6l9 he actually sounds more like GRap on this track but your right, Ra nd GRap are who gave us Nas.

  • Real Hip Hop right here. Nas indeed prevails

  • wow i really like this track
