  • cool video! very helpfull. :)

  • you look sillly with the bed head face. lol.

I just got a small intuos tablet, and the wheel does not work, do you have to program it? I am using just the software that comes with it.

  • @bassbugg7

It works with the software that comes with it. However, you can do custom settings in the graphic software you are using.

  • I used to put a sheet of paper over my tablet when I'm drawing, until I put a screen protector over the active area of the tablet. It gave me a smooth and plastic surface texture, as long as you can get over the loss of resistance. My nibs last longer as a result, I draw very lightly and yet I managed to grind them down to chisels.

  • @Zoujen

I do this as well sometimes.

  • Nice review, but i couldn't help finishing your sentences for you :P

  • @smoothymcgyver

I'm thinking about making a aaaahaaam-free version of this video. Neatly combed of course.

  • @mariokluser Haha, well of course.

  • What aaam good stuff aaam are you smoking aaam?

  • I have a question; I'm left handed, so if I get this tablet I will probably be flipping it around so that the shortcut buttons are on the right side. If I do this, will the digital display text labeling the buttons flip as well, or will they read upside down?

  • @Valexxii

    They will flip as well.

  • People doing tech videos need to edit out the part at the beginning where they tell you what they're about to do. Just cut to the review please.

  • for those who looking for an alternative to wacom intuos have a look at Hanvon Artmaster 1107 (A4 active size) for less than half the price of an intuos.

  • Would you recommend the bamboo create? or the intuos4 small? Thank you!!!

  • @jeeyun217

The price difference (at the time of writing this) is just $30 on Amazon. I would go for the Intuos4 small in this case.

  • @mariokluser then I have another dilemma...screensize. I've been leaning toward the intuos4 small, but I've heard the small screen size becomes difficult to work with. And I've also read and seen good reviews on the Bamboo create. ---confused.. thank you!

  • @jeeyun217

Have a look at my video on small tablets here /watch?v=fN7fAigrTaM

Maybe this makes it easier. Success with your decision!

  • Nice desktop background.. Awkwaard..

  • dam, wish i had the money to buy a nice tablet lol

  • @asianlikeramen

You could start a little smaller with a Bamboo.

  • hehehehe such a cripy feed back

  • If you have a Bad-Hair-Day, you better just put on a cap. Seriously. On MY opinion, it's really akward.

  • @thebrawlgamerxD

Agree. In some video's I did just that.

  • @thebrawlgamerxD I don't trust artists with non-crazy hair ;)

  • @thebrawlgamerxD I had no problem with his hair. I only made it 2 minutes into the video before all of the "ummmms" and "ahhhs" and "ohhhhs" chiseled away at my patience. For God's sake, man...spit it out!!

  • Thank you very much. Are the nibs expensive? Sorry for posting the question twice I didn't realise I did:(

  • @RuthsArts

I didn't need to buy new ones in the meantime. I really don't know what the prices are at the moment but I guess it's too much anyway.

  • @RuthsArts They are $2 apiece. So yes, expensive indeed :O

  • Wait so if the nibs wear quite fast does that mean you have to keep buying more? Or does the pen come with spare nibs?

  • @RuthsArts

There are different kind of nibs coming with the pen. Also some standard nibs as replacements. If they are worn out you have to buy new ones indeed.

  • You're luck you have a clean workspace... my workspace exists within the bowels of my elementary text books. -_-

  • @nekopii

I have to admit I cleaned it up before I made this video. Just yesterday I cleaned it up again and found all the important stuff somewhere under a pile of clutter.

  • Why so many dislikes? Is it because he´s french and that means he´s a good artist by default, (its not racism if its positive).

    Seriously, why so many dislikes.

  • @RagdollRalph

Actually I'm from the Netherlands. Thanks for your positive racism though. BTW, I don't force anybody to watch this video. People who dislike it are free to do so and head over to a video on the Intuos4 produced by somebody who hadn't a bad hair day and just sums up the specifications you they can find on the Wacom website anyway.

    However, thanks for your support.

  • @mariokluser Maybe they just don´t like lady gaga:)

Enjoyed the video man, just ordered this tablet of the "Internets", i´m hoping to use it a lot, really want to learn more about digital art.

    Anyway "subbed" :D

  • @RagdollRalph

That's possible. I hope they found something to their liking elsewhere in the meantime. I'm still thankful that they took the time getting annoyed by me while there are billions of other video's to watch on Youtube.

I wish you a lot of fun with your Intuos4 and thanks for subbing :-)

  • R u smoking

  • @olifish4

    Yes

  • Comment removed

  • do you know how to use it on the MacOS??? (im hopeless at computers xD) thanks for showing how to use it! Keep it up! ;)

  • I'm gonna like this video before I've watched it, just because of the Gaga-wallpaper

  • hahaha! my english teacher has the same accent! but he can speak the th better ^^

  • great review, answered most if not all my questions, definitely going to buy this now!

  • @RenekaStudios

    Ehemmmm, thanks :-)

  • whats that smoke? O3O

  • 23 Dislike it because of Lady Fagget

  • Im so angry just because u got gaga wallpaper ;@

  • paper get up humidity and will be wavy at short time. so not as good idea as seems to be in first glance.

  • 5:30 and moving on. LOL Sorry, I'm sure it's great.

  • I'm way to ADD for this. I'm pulling my hair out and I'm only 4 minutes into it.

  • Sexy accent!

  • @SmileLyubov

    Thanks

  • @SmileLyubov

Thank you very much! Finally there is something sexy about me :-)

  • you look like sean penn!!

  • @dozdesign

Hear this for the first time. But OK, while I'm waiting to get this Al Pacino expression I already reached the Sean Penn stage. You have to start somewhere.

  • awesome review but do you know how to change the pen nib? and how did you reset the settings for the eight button?

  • @TDLakaDavidLover In my video on the nib wear you can see how I change the nib. I also made one on the software.

  • @mariokluser thanks for the information! and sorry to bother you but is there any specific way to matain the sketch pad? like any plastic covering?

  • @TDLakaDavidLover

Don't be sorry. There are plastic coverings available on Amazon for a couple of bucks.

  • Im having an insane amount of trouble getting my tablet installed. I tried using the install CD, and it seems to just cut out the install quickly, and goes back to the cd main menu. In Program Files > Wacom, all there is are like 4 files and a "32" folder. Nothing actually downloads in terms of an install program. The tablet 'works' in the sense that it moves with my movements, but pen pressure doesnt work. I've emailed Wacom and they gave me suggestions, all of which havent worked.

  • having a FAG

  • Hi mario, does the pen use batteries? Bon Jour Mario, le crayon utilise des batterie?

  • @commandosolo2009

No, the pen doesn't use batteries. As far as I know Wacom is the only system where the pen doesn't use them. They have a patent on it.

  • @mariokluser thank you for the prompt reply. Cheers

  • How do you know what youre drawing if you cant see anything on the tablet? How do you know where to pick up again when you stop drawing?

  • @videogamer65

You see what is happening with your drawing tools on the screen. You'll change your hand-eye-coordination and get used to it very quickly. Of course there are people who have problems with drawing this way.

  • @mariokluser Oh yeah i know that. But when you drag the curser with the pen to continue drawing will it draw? how does it know when you just want to drag the curser and when you want to draw?

  • @videogamer65

It only draws when the pen touches the tablet. If you just want to drag the cursors to another point at the canvas you hover approximately half a centimeter or so over the tablet to do so.

  • this sucks,, advice, never do an interview after you just woke up

  • @meshowz

Yes, I'm glad it wasn't a job interview, lol.

  • Very good, I thought. Thanks. :)

  • I liked this better than most other reviews. I don't mind that you said "Umm" a lot, but I liked that you didn't just say all the same things that I could find on the Wacom site or Amazon spec page. So many reviews on YouTube are just a spec list in video form, so thanks for relating something a little bit more personal to your usage.

  • @eaw213

Thanks. Actually, I think relating to personal usage is what a review is about.

  • @eaw213

Thanks for your appreciation, I very appreciate that. Lol.

I don't like spec listing reviews either as they don't have much to do with the real world usability of a product. At least not all the time.

  • Errr..aaaahh..Errrrr.ahhhh.

    Painful to watch..sorry.

  • @johnherrera305

Luckily there are billions of other videos to watch on Youtube that are less painful :-)

    Have fun!

  • uhmmehhhh .uhmmm thx for ....the uhmmm ehmm review....ehhh ..uhmmmm bye

  • @catgenx uhhhmm, arhhhhh thank you, uhummmmm, for errrr, let's say hmmmm watching, lol

  • you sound like the evil doctor from human centipede

  • thats a medium you are using there?

  • @klevelandboi09

    Yes, it's a medium. Large enough :-)

  • @mariokluser

    yeah..what size is your monitor?

  • It's been a few months since you first posted this video, how is the pen nib now? The whole nib wear issue (and Wacom's lack of caring since 2009 when the issue was first brought up) has been preventing me from picking up an intuos4. I was wondering if I should just save up for a Cintiq12w.

  • @undeadnightorc

Good that you bring this up. I planned to make a follow-up video on the nib wear and will do so shortly. I'll try to show the nib wear as detailed as possible. It's on my to-do-list.

  • @undeadnightorc

The thing with the pen nib wear is caused by the added pressure sensitivity of the intuos 4. You need to press harder on the pen than in previous models in order to get same result in line opacity than you did in the intuos 3. However, Wacom does provide many nibs with the tablet and you can buy more off their website. Within a year I have only had to change nibs once. If you are the type of person that likes to press hard on the pen, then go with intuos 3.
