I first experienced the Ozric Tentacles in the early 90's when they blew my mind away; like a modern psychedelic version of Hawkwind. A combination of seeing Hawkwind at Reading, experiencing Glastonbury & seeing Ozric Tentacles in Birmingham, have galvanized my love of the band!
@alexander161192 It fits into a very broad category of progressive rock that many people break down into progressive psychedelic. A quote from the Gibraltar Encyclopaedia of Progressive Rock has this to say, "Ozric Tentacles is generally regarded as one of the best things to happen to progressive/psychedelic rock in recent years."
Good video. First saw the Ozrics in '85 in Reading at a free gig. Obviously influenced by Gong esp. Steve Hillage (one of the greats) who has also collaborated with them. Keep 'em coming!
Great Tune, saw them in 92, 95, 97, 99, 2002, 2005 and in 2009 yes Ed Wynne is a great guitar player. The Ozrics are great.. If they are in your neighborhood, Go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing band-one of a kind. I saw them at B.B. King's in NYC last summer and my brain expanded. I spoke with a couple of them and they are very cool people, too.
i love this band i remember way back in day when there early stuff was only on cassette so in reverence ive put me ozrics trump cards on ebay for you all.
Dude are you tripping? They are poles apart.Dream theatre are guitar orientated high pitched vocal stuff...,Ozrics go with whatever suits the song.Strings,keyboard,flute,bass...etc,
The British can make some Psychedelic rock. Much better then the Americans. I got to see these fellows in West Virginia, US a few years back. Best band at the whole festival and they only got to start the show off on Thursday. Lame, maybe it's because Trey Anastasio was there that year and he was afraid. He should have been. Dude, used an electronic drum machine during his show. What!? I would think a real drummer is in order...
