I just finished watching the PBS series Baseball, by Ken Burns. The lovely Carly's sings this classic piece of Americana at the end of the Eighth Inning, and does so like no one else can. Thank you for posting this.

FYI: In addition to her many hit records, Carly fans need to hear the romantic Someone Waits for You, from a movie w/ Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn. Showcasing her smooth voice, it is one of her best songs ever.

This version is ok. However, I have heard Carly sing the whole song with the "Katy Casey was baseball mad....verse, as well as the "Katy Casey knew what to do verse....." It is legendary. I am not sure she has ever recorded it.
