I made them and they are DELICOUS :D but i didnt have any shortening or cream of tar tar, so i just put a little more butter (sub for shortning) and instead of baking soda and cream of tar tar i used baking powder and they came out perfect <3333 :D thx for the video :3

I just got done making my own batch, the recipe that I used didn't say anything about shortening...and my cookies came out puffy like corn bread. =( My cookies always come out like that. I may have cut my butter a little short as well and I greased my cookie sheet. What did I do wrong?

yes tartar is optional, you really don't need it
