Thats why I buy a copy then download a cracked version. Im still legal. I also watch HD in my living room, best thing is to use a DVI to HDMI adaptor. I get full 1080p full sound by using a sound card and everything is perfect.
Well as it turned out all ot this never happend. At least I have never heard of it until now. So has it been canceled? I have never used VISTA so I don't have personal experience with it.
Tyranny by complexity. Things have gotten so advanced, no one including me knows how to make their own game console with homebrew so they can write programs they wrote. Cars have so many computerized parts, we are forced to pay $25K every 4 years because they can't be repaired even by the pros...no one has the time to look at every single trace on a PC's motherboard with a signal analyzer to see how to disable the DRM/inject a fake key. We are headed for the Dark ages again.
They put the screws to Microsoft ... that's not true MS can do whatever the hell they like and believe me they do this for profit. Anything that has a value on it (e.g. multi-screen viewing) will be charged by companies in the long run if the consumers do not fight back. Stick to XP its the better OS! For us musicians its way better as it had lower latency when recording.
"Or switch to Linux. Eg. Ubuntu is easy as pie to use."
That's exactly what I done, very reliable, everything works.
I need an operating system that does everything I want to, be totally secure, and most importantly not filled with nasty sucky Digital Restrictions Management crap at the expense of reliability and security.
'Tilt bits' or whatever crap Vista has, we can certainly live without this rubbish.
wtf so how are they intruding on u like this..wtf!!!..so that means this is some eagle eye shit where they can see er' thing u do wtf!!!!....damn i wish games would work with mac:(
Vista will not allow unsigned drivers, although it may allow them to work it will cause reliabiliy issues such as shutdown hangs and blue / boots, Microsoft is out of line disallowing us to us what we already own, legally.
Linux is a different "animal" than windows. If you approach it like windows you will fail and be disappointed. What makes Linux especially attractive is it's tradition of respecting user's privacy and it's resilentcy against computer virus's. Furthermore what's really exciting about Linux is that it just keeps getting better. While M$ and Windows continues to try to take users in a direction they don't want to go. Hence Windows keeps getting shittier with each new version.
true.. its too bad linux is not quite user friendly enough for the average user.. I would also like it if they would stick to just 5 main distro's instead of over 1000.. could help clarify some for non linux users..
No, piracy will prevent DRM sending us back to European Dark ages. Historian should give those who work in pirate business some credit. For my point of view, priacy is as importance as mass production of book in human history.
I did one Better after wasting money on Vista and realizing real quick how the Just made the system buggy. I'm using Ubuntu Linux right now. OMFG it's frakkin beautiful compared to Vista.
XP is not sold anymore since 30th of June. Some of the major PC manufacturers still sell "XP downgrade rights" but usually only the in the office range.
There is actually a way around this (to an extent) if you have an old pc with xp on it that is no longer in use, or a pc that has been offline for 6 months or more you can activate that key again.. so grab any old dead laptops or desktops and you can use the keys on a newer pc.. You can still buy copies of xp through 3rd party sites for a while, basically as long as they have a stockpile.. hard to say how long that will last though..
oh yeah, Just thought I'd point out, Where is Microsoft's logic on this one?? They are still making money on xp, why stop selling it?? Now people are more likely to pirate it since they cant buy it..
I have contacted their support and they actually still sell it hidden on Windows Marketplace. But all links on the main microsoft site that mention XP point to vista. Guess they want to introduce "trusted computing" by hook or crook. I have been with Microsoft OS since the late 80s but once XP stops working I will change to OpenSuse for multimedia & internet usage. For the office, there is no choice, have to stick with MS. Hopefully the users will fight back and see some sense until 2012.
Let me make this simple: What will M$ do if few people upgrade? Why do you think Vista is so much slower than Xp? The Linux community has seen a noticeable increase in it's users how come? People know about DRM and especially Vista and are rebeling against it in droves. M$ has just alienated it's users perhaps for the last time. To treat users as criminals will be their final undoing. M$ has a big problem on their hands people don't trust them anymore.
...until the government enforces not being able to watch high quality video over the analog VGA output with stun guns, pistols, lawsuits, and jail time.
This video is just full of paranoid thoughts.

It was real. There's a lot of money behind it. Most of it either got fixed or removed for Windows 7. Which is why it's Vista but works.

I wouldn't touch Vista with a barge pole because of this nasty Digital Restrictions Management junk it's filled with, making things unreliable.

XP was the last decent OS Microsoft made.

Well not such a good option if you already have invested lots of money in recording software...

Yeah, Ubuntu definitely rocks, I like it with Beryl, but with 7.10 since it is built in I don't run Beryl, but I might reinstall it just for kicks..
