Also there is alot of other things besides that the b16 is just a stroked b16. Its is stroked by the way. I believe b16 is 81x77.4mm (bore x stroke) b18c (95-00 dc2 and db8) is 81x87.2mm with a 11.1.1 compression and 97-01 b18c5 is 10.6.1 with 81x87.2 Also if they were looking for a cheap bseries to turbo i would of picked the b18b had lower compresson and put a little more money into the ghetto turbo kit that i saved by getting the b18b? tuned before just straight ripping the fuck outta it2

i'm not talking about exhaust backfire. i'm talking about when you are boosting, and then you let off, you have tremendous pressure still built up behind the throttle, and it has no where to go so it goes back into the turbo, wearing it out quickly. to much pressure will cause it to blow.

Ya well its def only a b16a/a2 b18c1 bc hes still hitting the rev limiter at 8200 and its doesnt have a computer to lower it so it definately isnt a b16b or b18c5. I know but it sounds like a bigger turbo like a gt37r the way it spools and how the turbo whisltes so loud. My GT30R or my new GT35R doesnt sound like that well in a rsx. b series can still be made into a badass motor with a little work and the b16b is a good engine to have in any civic/crx/del sol. what car do u have this motor in? my friend has a b16a2 in a 91 crx si other has b18c1 in a 95 civic coupe and other friend has a b18c5 96' type r in a 92 hatch with s200 tuned. i havent seen an b16b run b4 but id think the extra.4 compression and 15 hp would help out a little. friends b16a2 only ran a 14.7 with i/h/e no cat and b18c1 ran a 14.3 with same mods

Thx. To make it more clear the bigger the turbo for your engine size, the more you have to sqeeze every gear so the next gear gets at higher "engine-RPM" -> more exaust air to move the "turbo-rpm" again to full boost level.
These days you can get a GT25 BallBearing for much faster spools.But like every goodie you need bigger pocket.Double trile money from a T3/T4.

you guys obviously know nothing about cars. If you knew anything, you'd know his VSS is either loose and not tightened down all the way are messing up. VSS is (vechile speed sensor) and it will make the mph/kph jump around like that if not in all the way or messed up. Its not a fake video!

Different turbos flow differently at different psi, psi is a very inaccurate measurement of stress on a motor. It's all about cfm which translates directly to whp.
No engine block itself is forged they are all cast. Internals such as pistons/rods, that's another story.
Block material has nothing to do with it. The sleeves are ductile iron.
funny, my b18c has higher compression than a b18c1 and mine came with 10.6:1... interesting. lots of numbers being thrown around. for one. (to jonsie420) the tune sounds fine. the jump on the throttle is from the larger injectors trying to be tune with. long story. second, the tune probly has a fuel cut off. even dsm 450 injectors are more than needed on a b16 for 9lbs. the real problem here is a lack of understanding.

it is more then safe on a stock d16 with stock bottom and top end... you just need injectors, fuel pump, a new computer or a chip.. and a good tune... the motor itself will definitly handle it. ofcourse if u abuse it .. you wil break things and theres no way ur civic puts down 140whp... its old bro... ud be lucky to put down 125whp.. it prob puts down 140whp brand new.

I wouldn't really say it's a downgrade, b16's and b18's are really the same motor, just a different stroke I believe.

you guys obviously know nothing about cars. If you knew anything, you'd know his VSS is either loose and not tightened down all the way are messing up. VSS is (vechile speed sensor) and it will make the mph/kph jump around like that if not in all the way or messed up. Its not a fake video!

you need fuel support. first thing get a WIDEBAND GAUGE!! get a fpr reg, walbro 255 pump, injectors and a way to control the amount of fuel being delivered. and then turbo the boost up!! for all you noobs out there a bit of info fo yo face

In the USA,
99-00 Honda Civic Si's came with B16A2's
Some Del Sol S' came with B16A3's
And Integras come with B18s. LS/GSR/Type-R all have different versions of the B18.

lol. first off. the 2jz engine is nuts. Its forged... there really isnt anything stronger from the factory then a forged engine. it can handle 15-20 pounds of boost stock.. Second you failed at turbo charging a b16. its a 10.6 to 1 compression ratio and your already pushing almost 10 pounds of boost... on an aluminum block?.. what?

B16 is 10.4
B18 is 10.6
Different turbos flow differently at different psi, psi is a very inaccurate measurement of stress on a motor. It's all about cfm which translates directly to whp.
No engine block itself is forged they are all cast. Internals such as pistons/rods, that's another story.
Block material has nothing to do with it. The sleeves are ductile iron.
I don't think you know what your talking about.

funny, my b18c has higher compression than a b18c1 and mine came with 10.6:1... interesting. lots of numbers being thrown around. for one. (to jonsie420) the tune sounds fine. the jump on the throttle is from the larger injectors trying to be tune with. long story. second, the tune probly has a fuel cut off. even dsm 450 injectors are more than needed on a b16 for 9lbs. the real problem here is a lack of understanding.
