  • Never cared too much for Winger, but this song is amazing and Kip is a great bass player and singer.

  • God, this song was was huge and was so well written! I'm surprised Kip's voice is doing as well as it is here because it was written in such a high key. Great mystique to this song. Reb Beach was a monster on guitar... OMG time whenever he played leads. I'm glad Ibanez had that guitar made for him. Very cool of them to have a Reb Beach model...

  • besides the fact that this guy is TOTALLY good looking.. Aside from that...lol His voice is amazing and his guitar player ROCKS and they ARE MONDO talented songwriters ( or whoever wrote these songs) The changes are beautiful. I LOVE KIP...

  • If you listened to Mike Judge, you are WRONG lol.

  • Winger have never been a threat to my raging male heterosexuality; so I have no problem praising them for the GREAT overall band they've always been.

    LONG LIVE WINGER!

  • I think this is their best song.

  • I love this version of the song...

  • Kip is hot.

  • Isn't it amazing that he sounds no different live or on record?

  • 2 people are Headed For A Heartbreak...

  • Wow. Amazing musicians.

  • my speakers dont go loud enough.

  • this band did catch alot of post grundge shit.but the fact of the matter is,these guys rocked!i can think of lots of bands from that time frame who were alot less talented, and got more credit...also in my opinion, reb beach was one of the most underated guitarist of that time

  • Hey here's a good match up. Kip Winger or Micheal Anthony from Van Halen??? both have great voices when singing and have great talent. which ones better??

  • this band is fukin badass..

  • REB BEACH!

  • Winger gets so much shit from people....look at that shit Beavis and Butthead ragged on Stewart foor wearing a Winger shirt..

Winger kicks ass and all the band members can kick ass by themselves. Does anyone know if some of these guys were in Alice Cooper?

  • @agenthelios Kip was.

  • @agenthelios Both Kip and Reb were in Alice Cooper. Reb later went back to playing with Alice for a while but I forget what year/tour.

  • Winger are the best band ever.....period.

  • he makes the guitar sing , great song

  • @coldbluerain I remember listening to Seventeen followed by Easy Come, Easy Go in 1991, and I was 18. Listening to their music in 2005 brought back my love for 80's Metal.

  • Winger was just too talented for the 80's and 90's.

    Love them.

  • @LaWoman071 I loved them after listening to Pull during the summer of 1993.

  • The "Beavis&Butthead" thing did some harm, together with the "Seattle scene"...but Kobain is no more...and where are Beavis&Butthead now...!!All i know is that Winger are riding the crest of a wave ...and so they should...!!!

  • the ending is a great way to grow as a musician. (they are already there) if i had a band i would cover this..... and i would make it about 10min, add a few more verses, just let everyone have a turn just jammin. just stellar.

  • @THECURELOST13

I TOTALLY agree man! This song kicks so much ass. I have actually covered this tune on vocals and it is one of my all time favs.

    Your comment gets a sub!

  • I don't understand why there are ppl laughing at this band. I guess they just like to laugh then. The Wingers are great musicians.

  • people joked about this band but every member had a butt load of talent

  • @lookingatcrap I'm sure those critics are probably eating barbecued crow as we speak.

  • @lookingatcrap People can laugh all they want: they're probably just jealous and angry. Step up to the plate and do better. This is one of the most under rated bands ever. They are all amazing musicians, and really nice guys.

  • @lookingatcrap Saw Winger in Glasgow at the Cathouse, great show. No-one who has actually seen them live makes jokes about Winger!! C'mon back to Scotland soon \../

  • @lookingatcrap: I call them a supergroup!

  • @lookingatcrap I totally agree

  • I always wondered about that too. However, the majority of citizens outthere do not understand music. For instant, did you know that Rod, Kip, Reb and even Paul Taylor are classically trained musicians? The trouble is the majority of people listening to music do not understand what this means and they just assumed Winger associated with the "hair" band era. Anyway...

  • @paistekid You nailed it!! These guys are solid players on their own and each brings their talent to shine as a great band. :)

    Cheers.........

  • @lookingatcrap ...and a butt load of cum.. but I digress. lmao. J/K I know they had talent.. I love Reb Beach's guitar playing. I modeled my style alot on him.

  • @lookingatcrap agreed... however there's a reason Beavis and Butthead's neighbor "Stewart" always sported a Winger shirt.

  • i always like the guitar solo that told the rest of the story and i always will i miss the 80's sooo dam much

  • @heather8062 I truly miss the 80's rock scene, Heather. Looking back there were so many awesome guitar solos.

  • kip winger is such an amazing vocalist

  • @veilleux1990 Yes, he's truly an amazing vocalist who deserved more credit than what was given.

  • i was 18 when winger first appeared in music scene, man .. i still remember how reb beach amazed me with his solos

    80's is the best :)

  • My god it must have been great! I'm 16 and I haven't heard of any good NEW band in my whole life.. 80's Rocks!!

  • Yeah it's a ballad but Reb's solo is awesome!

  • Yep, nice solo and that jamming in the end is just amazingly great. Drummer is playing awesome too.

  • Wow, I had no idea this DVD was out there! Beau Hill, the producer of Winger's first two albums (and one of the big producers of that era) said Winger was the best live band he'd ever seen.

  • Una super banda!

  • who played keyboards?

  • paul taylor...

some songs he plays the keys, and some others the rhythm guitar

  • paul taylor, i believe

  • Twenty years ago,I referred to him as "Mr. Perfect Teeth"

Looking at him twenty years later, he has been renamed simply "Mr Perfect".

  • Who would ever leave that GORGEOUS man alone!??? lol NO ONE He was the Most BEAUTIFUL man in Rock n Roll with the voice of an ANGEL and STILL to this day sounds EXACTLY the same... He is PRICELESS.. xoxo Jamie

  • i know. i totally, completely, 100% agree... I just discovered this band to be honest about a month ago...and... i was speechless the minute i watched the Headed for a Heartbreak music video, along with the Seventeen video.

    Good. GOd.

every cell in his body was carved by and angel. lol xD

  • its just the georgous hair

  • Yea these guys kick ass. Reb Beach is amazing. I'm only 19 and i fuckin love these guys.

  • @thps89

That would make you 21 now.

    They still kick ass.

I remember when Kip Winger, used to play with Alice Cooper, before venturing off to do his on thing with Winger.

    Keep Rockin' thps89

  • Great band! Never got the respect they deserved! especially from posers.

  • agree!!

  • WINGER RULES ASHOOLE

  • WINGER LIVES ASHOOLE

  • singer looks like paul gilbert. whats their best album????

  • Really depends. They all have a different feel.

Winger - Self titled is there original. Very emotional hard rock sound. Great guitars and drums.

In the Heart of the Young - More of a Commercial album. Very fun though to listen to. Think chicks dancing and Reb jamming.

Pull - Very hard album. This was Kip saying F-U haters Winger can kick ass your asses.

  • cool ill have a look on ebay

  • Actually the original album is called Sahara, not many caught the title because its obscure in the lower right on the blocks. :)

  • Sahara was actually the original name for Winger. They changed it due to it belonging to someone else.

  • His voice pounds.

  • I saw Alice Cooper when Kip played. He was pretty good. Too bad he got blasted on a stupid cartoon (Beavis and Butthead) and became the butt of too many jokes - he's a talented guy.

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • awesome drumming. GREAT performance.

  • what an awesome band..reb is one of the best

  • sólidos! excellent!

  • OHH MY GOD HE MAKES MY BLOOD BOIL I WILL LOVE KIP TILL MY DYING DAY! He is the best looking man in the universe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FOREVER AND EVER!

  • HEADBANGIN69

Pull is one of Wingers best CD's!!!

  • I just noticed the keyboard player plays flat fingered. That is really bad technique. But they sound awesome. Too bad their consequent CDs after this were not as good.

  • Love Rebs Ibanez. Finding one of those these days is insane. His new Suhrs are incredible too. Reb's the man!

  • There realy good live I saw them in like 2000.

  • I'd like to see them live, Winger is an awesome band, always have been and always will!

  • These guys are awesome and incredibly nice guys too.

  • I think it sounds sharp because during the chorus, he sounds like his hand is choked up to much on the plam muted lead. The pitch sounds higher when that happens. It sounds normal otherwise.

  • This is a really good version. Underrated band, I suppose.

  • Fucking awesum

  • Oh my god... Anything Reb touches turns to magic.

  • How did Grunge beat this...??

Nirvana....Pearl Jam and all those shitty bands have nothing on this performance

  • Pearl Jam wasn't that shitty though, they had some pretty good stuff, but yeah, a lot of bands sucked in that genre sucked, the sludging chord mashing riffs had nothing on this. I seen Winger in concert in February, I was so happy to see them, I was only 1 when the band came out, so having the chance to actually see them, awesome, and Reb Beach has only gotten better on guitar, the solo he just ripped out was awesome, it was up there with Vai and all those virtuosos.

  • Nah... pearl jam really does suck bro. It's like hippie jam music without the talent.

  • LOL, are you kidding me? I know this was said 6 months ago but it has to be said: you're plain retarded, pal.

Pearl Jam is talented. It's funny you say that, because if we're going to talk about guitar chops, PJ in fact stood out big time compared to similar acts like Nirvana.

  • Pearl Jam isn't the second coming of christ.. they're a well known band with a couple of decent songs.. overrated. Nirvana has some good stuff, but mentioning that Pearl Jam is more talented than Nirvana isn't really saying much. They both have their strong points, but instrumental talent isn't really one of them. Which was the initial point of this topic.

  • The fact of the matter is that Winger is greater than both of them. End of discussion.

  • well, pearl jam had the better haircuts ;-)

  • Goooooood!!!!! That was AWESOME!!!!

Great song, my favorite by Winger, definitely, and an AMAZING performance!

    Thank you for posting!!

  • good band

  • AWESOME song,

    great performance!! :D

  • the guitar is slight out of tune, but great performance anyway

  • I tought I was the only one that heard that the tuning wasn't perfect. Well let's blame the sweat and stage heat that changed the pitch.

  • Yea, Reb sounds a bit sharp...

Except the solos were fine, just the fills sound off. Hmmm. The solo was friggin awesome, and Kips voice is just golden as always. These guys are right up there with Kings X. Totally were never really given the right kind of attention for whatever reason and completely underrated for songwriting ability.

  • When you are muting on a Floyed Rose equiped guitar it will be sharp. When you play the solo it will be in pitch. That's just the way THAT tremelo works.

  • So, would YOU pay thousands of dollars for a guitar that goes out of pitch when you palm mute on it?

Nope. Me either. I dont have any problems with it. He's just sharp, that's all

  • He made that guitar. Cost ? probable 300 dollars. Not to bad a tone for a non-gibson piece huh? How about you do you have his talent?

  • You're funny. My guitar has that same bridge on it. I dont go sharp when I'm palm muting.

Made that guitar? What are you talking about? Ibanez makes those for him. Do you have any idea what you're talking about? I'm beginning to doubt it.

No, I dont have his talent. I'm not afraid to say it. But I am pretty decent. How about you?

  • I'll correct myself too. Ibanez MADE those for him. Obviously he's with Suhr guitars now. Mahogany and koa bodies. $300 in parts? You're on crack. The EMGs alone would cost around $200 I think.

  • the EMGs are $200 now. But back in the 80's I'm sure they were just a tad cheaper.

  • a piece of Koa wood for a body of a guitar is very expensive...at least a good piece...i'm having one made for me right now and the body piece alone was 500-600 bucks. Like I said, it's a great piece...but expensive.

  • It astonishes me how such a stupid argument could erupt from a single comment. It's pretty simple: if you apply even a small amount of pressure on a bridge that is suspended in a cavity rather than resting on solid wood, the pitch will be a bit sharp!

  • that is a great guitar.what happened to reb beach

  • nothing happened to him...hes touring with winger and whitesnake!

  • Great voice, great song, great song, great band. what more do u want. trully amazing.

  • Sad thing about winger is they came to the scene to late. Just like skid row, warrant, firehouse, and a few others. By the time they got big. The industry just total turned on the whole metal scene. Though I guess being big time for a few years is more then one could ask for. But you know they got to miss it.

  • ya, they had a few years in the limelight, more than most bands ever get...for awhile you couldn't get away from Winger around 1988-1990...but 1993's PULL release took so long to finish in the studio (not to mention 400 grand) that I think they missed the last part

of the window. Such a great album, that missed it's window for platinum status by maybe a year to 18 months IMO.

  • yup.

  • The 90's really screwed over bands like these guys. Def Leppard was one of the few that survived and they are my favorite. There Adrenalize album was awesome and would of got bigger if it wouldnt of been for grunge in 1993 at that time.

  • damn you're saying it... All my favorites like warrant, firehouse and winger became big at the beginning 90s... That already was the beginning of the end of hair metal

  • That guy sounds like Chris Jericho when he sings!

  • Yeah he does.

  • Winger was the shirt of stewart on Beavis' show!

  • I just LOVE this song so much,

    this live version is GREAT!

    I love Winger's music :)

  • Why not Paul Taylor on guitar too and keyboard set-up automaticly

Van Halen does that too with songs like jump and why cant this be love

  • Yup.

  • Damn that long note is cool

    Very good voice

And that guitar player is good too

And those guy on keys I've heard some guitar work from him too (very good)

  • killer vocals and killer solo yes!

  • Reb-You kick ass dude! Your one of the best guitar players in the world. Keep rockin'! \m/

  • reb is fucking amazing, he truly is. i saw Winger yesterday in NY i was standing in front of him the whole time watching his every move on guitar..JUST PLAIN SICK.

  • Reb is awesome. He screams on the guitar whether its with Dokken, Winger, or Whitesnake

  • Another beautiful solo from Mr. Beach

  • A great performance of a beautiful song. Winger is top shelf. Great to see them rocking the house.

  • if there was metal gear solid back then they should of had him as solid snake. that would be sweet.

  • god his vocals souns just like the record kip winger is legend the band is also is legend

  • I LOVE THE 80!!!

    GUNS N ROSES

    KISS

    POISON

    CINDERRELA

    MOTLEY CRUE

    BON JOVI

    VAN HAILEN

LEPPARD and alot more!!!!! whitesnake!!! damn long list XD!!! rock on people!!!

  • That was fucking magnificent. It's a shame that they disbanded, but at least they came back.

  • Now, when you say 80's rock are we just limited to "hair metal" or all genres?

  • All....add The Clash in there, Pat Benatar, on and on....those were great years.

  • any one else think rebs guitar is sharp? especially during the unison lick with the keys?

  • You're right, Twangzilla. It's something like half a semitone out, but still noticeable. A shame that there's such a technical flaw, because the musicianship and showmanship is awesome throughout.

Amazing band. Winger's ability to write songs with such musical integrity (fantastic modulations and extensions) whislt retaining catchiness and accessibility is so rare.

Who were the true kings of 80s/Early 90s Rock? I'd say:

    Winger

    Def Leppard

    Bon Jovi

    What would you say?

  • Yeah, and probably add Metallica. Of course who can forget Van Halen :)

  • add Journey, Van Halen and Whitesnake, that'll cover the "kings" but there were a number of princes as well, TNT being one of those bands I'd have liked to see go farther

  • Who were the true kings of 80s/Early 90s Rock?

    guns'n'roses

    bon jovi

    def leppard

    winger

    cinderella

  • ya it's a bit off, his strings probably stretched, that's a common problem with floating tremelos, especially when you're changing strings daily and also changing your

    environment (humidity, temperature).

  • I always loved this song and the guitar solo reb blows up at the end is very nice.Kip is really a great singer he can get dirty and mean or he can get clean.

  • Awesome live mix! Kip is one of the best rock frontmen ever, he really had it all here. His bass lines are purposefully sparse so he can focus on singing. If I were writing music of this type, and had to sing lead, I'd do the same thing. I love this song, best rock ballad since Open Arms, and every bit as good...classy, original airy feel, great solo, and easy to understand. Listen to those monster chords on

    that guy...sick.

  • Wow, what a great showman Kip was, I've never a bass player that spends as much time with his hands off his insterment, it's pretty cool to watch, Jack Blades of Night Ranger plays like that also.

  • lol, i was thinking the same thing.

  • This a very beautifful song.....

reb beach in guitars very excelenty!!
