  • Is this what English hunting is like? I think I'd rather shoot clays. Why don't you guys get out and walk?

  • Humans first appeared about 195,000 years ago & it is only in the last 100 that hunting has been divorced from food and the last 20 years that animal rights activist have given animals human like qualities and rights to the point where even the advancement of life saving medical science is frustrated. Today man does not hunt for food but the success of the animals under game management has been clearly evidenced even above RSPB reserves even if this offends urban politically correct sentiment.

  • Hi good shooting are you using a 20 bore and how do you think it fared on the shoot at the high flyers

  • I take it theres no limit?? ha ha nice video

  • Im all for shooting and do a bit of pheasant shooting myself but it just seems wrong standing in a line and having the birds driven towards you. Not very sporting is it, especially when the birds are there for that reason. Rough shooting is my cup of tea but each to their own I suppose.

  • Looks like the beaters was driving them right out them pens, insane!

  • you toffs couldnt shoot your load, id a smoked them with my hatsan.

  • That I would like to see :)

  • Amazing shooting im going next season cant wait!!!!!

  • Correct the title of the video, this is not hunting this is trap shooting...

  • What a load of sad cunts maybe some one should beat you with a stick and then fucking shoot you

  • @bj8168 your the sad one that needs beating with a stick, if you dont like shooting dont watch them.

  • @bj8168

You have every right to object as long as you keep your objections civil and your arguments well thought out. Your use of bad language debases your argument (if you have one and does you no credit.

  • no which weeks is it will have a read thanks

  • what was the end bag of the day ?

  • I have heard of 7th heaven, but I have now seen pheasant heaven.

    Nice shooting, well filmed.

  • great video and some very nice shooting.

  • Great shooting. Awaiting more of your videos thank you.

  • Excellent video. You seem to be in full flow by the 4th drive. Who arranges this shoot and how can one contact them?

  • @Griffinpaf - unfortunately I am in a private syndicate and we book year on year at these shoots, who offer us let days on these exclusive private/family shooting estates, and it's dead mens shoes for places.

I have a few contacts in the NW if you want but I suggest we comunicate privately

    Regards

    Ian

  • Do not worry, the guys on our shoot miss most of them as well, they say that they can't hit them as they are too small ......

  • What choke are u using

  • @duncanfr11 - currently 1/4 and 1/4 chokes for everything :-) they come down dead even the high ones

  • everybody has good and bad days as for your point on bolt action yes a lot of people do start with them but they are limited to 1 cartridge the only thing i dont like about autos is not knowing how many cartriges in chamber with young people its easy to forget

  • @123matthewpeter - agreed. I just gave them one at a time while I sat behind them supervising

Glad to agree safety is the most important thing - did you see my letter in shooting times on the subject a couple of weeks ago?

  • james couldnt hit a barn door as for coments on guns starting someone with a auto is foolish anyone new to a shotgun should have a break barrel and autos are not welcome on most shoots anyway

  • @123matthewpeter - agreed James had a bad day on this video - you will see from his other videos that he can shoot well. As for starting on an auto - many people started shot gun shooting with Webly a bolt action 410, as long as they are correctly supervised all should be ok.

As for shooting an auto on a shoot - I agree this is defibately not acceptable and should be restricted to pigeon hides and the marshes only

    Thanks for your comments

  • 1:19 missed behind!

  • This is the best pheasant shooting video youtube by the way! well done!

  • a phenomenal shot this guy is!

  • Really a very exciting video that captures the day. Well done that young cameraman James - good shooting dad!

  • I have never seen so much lead shot wasted in my life. Its to be hoped the sheep grazing in that field are tested for lead poisoning before market!

  • well done and well shot!!, nice to see the birds taken out in front and the low ones left, and i agree it's not the amount you shoot it's the whole day and being out with friends,

  • That is what pheasant shooting is all about!

  • hi im 13 and i've just taken up beatting my first ever beat was the saturday just gone. we only got 36 birds partly because they werent flying very high. and all so what shotgun do you suggest for me.

  • @drblueman1 Hi Tom, thanks for your comment - glad you had a good day. Remember it's not how many you shoot its the joy of being out with friends in the contryside.

It would be hard for me to comment on a gun for you, I suggest going to an approved shooting school

My boys started on a 20 bore auto which was light to hold - friends have started on a 28 bore which is even smaller

My lads use a Browning 525 20 bore with 24 gram loads through open chokes

Enjoy the sport - regards Ian

  • @drblueman1 well done for starting the event i havent been shooting long and i am enjoying it

  • Great days shooting to share with your lad. Looks like you both had a great day..

  • bloody hell dad ur amazin lol !!! literally

  • sky bustin

  • looks a great day and what gun are you shooting with. i must say you are a very good shot thanks james

  • @TheJamesz1 - I only use Browning. My gun is the 525 12G Grade 6 using 1/4 & 1/4 chokes, with Gamebore Black Gold 32gm No 5's

    Regards

    Ian

  • great vid enjoyed that

  • the man shooting on the 4th drive was a great shot .

  • That's great - we need youngsters in the sport as that is the future - I did it and so are my children - remember keep safe and have a good time

    Have a great season.................

    Best regards

    Ian :-)

  • @ianbanchris1 Hi Ian, great video. Im 17 and was just wondering what gun you was using as i am planning on getting my first gun by next year.

Sorry if the question has been asked before.

    Noah :)

  • @1N04H1 Hi Noah - I suggest at 17 you will be ready for a 12 bore. I use the Browning 525 Grade 6

For pointability I would recommend an over and under, any of the good makes will do Browning, Beretta etc remember guns are just two tubes that fire the lead in the air. Expensive wood and carving are just for looking at. You can't beat a well fitted gun that is an extension of your body.

A good shooting ground will let you try before you buy - good luck in finding your gun

    Regards

    Ian

    Noah :)

  • are yu pro or something ???

  • well theres nothing that sounds better than about 40 sotguns all ringing out

  • u fuckin suck turn the gun on yourself you loser

  • how old must you be in england to get your licence

  • fantastic shots, and great looking drives. nicely done

  • Great Shooting love ur vids will keep watching good job :)

  • great video the camera works the best iv seen on you tube. bit of advise for the young lad on the 2nd drive. he needs to keep swinging the gun through on the birds as it looks like he stops once trigger is pulled keep it up lads!

  • No reason realy apart from he started on the 20 when he was 11ish and feels confident with it - however I have to say that he is more often asking for the 12 especially on the ducks - and his younger brother Matthew is about to pinch the 20 bore as he shot his first crow and pigeon with it tonight!

Looks like dad needs another gun !!

  • @ianbanchris1 Hi, I notice that you are using ear plugs. I am really struggling with peltor defenders ( getting in the way of the stock) and wondered if you had your plugs moulded to your ears, if so do you find them effecftive and what brand are they ? Thanks in advance Iain

  • how come your son doesnt shoot a 12bore .

  • Bah, some cracking shots in there, looked like a great day!

As you can see we have been to some excellent shoots this year with another 10 days to go................ someone has got to shoot all these pheasants he he

  • @ianbanchris1 hi ian our shoot is going well thankyou and some enjoyable sport not as many birds as your shoot and yes someone has to keep the sport going :) and i am keeping well also im hopefully buying a few days towards the end of the season and next season if i get my license through hopefully a seasons shooting :) also have you been on just one shoot or several? we will have to do a bit of pigeon shooting or somthing at the end of the season or in the summer :)

  • @ianbanchris1 Ahh don't we all. I did 5:0 yesterday, haha i think its time to get the clay trap out!
