  • HA HA!!! Bill

  • Isn't that music from 2001: A Space Odyssey?

  • HA HA!!! The cut for Space Odyssey came from a CD I own called "The Incredible Film Music Box" as played by the City of Prague Philharmonic orchestra. The City of Prague Philharmonic purchase the rights to songs and do a FANTASTIC job at re-cutting the older songs. I own quite a number of their Cd's and sometimes the music is not had anywhere else. The movie 2001 A Space Odyssey was made in 1968 so that was before soundtracks... The Composer was Richard Strauss... Bill

  • That looks like a great set I can't wait to see it after you built it!

  • I did a total of 4 videos so far on this set. See - "Bills' Creations - Lego 50th Anniversary Set" (this one) - "Bills' Creations - Lego 50th Anniversary Castle" - "Bills' Creations - Lego 50th Anniversary Castle COMPLEX" and "Modeling Blog Daily - 06/29/08 - Building Lego Castles"... Bill

  • Bill you could maybe take all of your lego car's and make a parade putting this music to backround!

  • HA HA!!! I have done parades before. Generally they are different companies models but are really cool - see - "Bills' Creations - Trains on Parade" - "Bills' Creations - Backhoes on Parade" and "Bills' Creations - Micro Christmas Trains on Parade"... Good idea... Bill

  • Yeah haha I do have the exact same jacket Mutt had in the movie now all I need is a bike and a Marlon Brando style hat! Btw did you see the lego 50th set called town plan? Its classic 50s set with a movie theater and 57 chevy I think.

  • I have the TOWN PLAN. I just haven't built it yet!!! Great stuff - daddy O... HA HA!!! Bill

  • Yeah you always have good music playing! Im a rockabilly man myself! Living in the 50s would of been great I could of been an actual greaser.

  • HA HA!!! Just like MUTT!!! Bill

  • Bill did you ever get the lego town plan?

  • I've got it... I just haven't built it yet. You would really be suprised if you really knew what sets I have to build... Lots of fun... Bill

  • Thats awsome I wish I grew up in the 50s! I got jipped out of a great time and I flat out got robbed on the great music back then...

  • HA HA!!! It was for me the BEST of times... You hear me pepper my videos with songs from the past - as well as present. I'm actually very eclectic in my music taste... Bill

  • I will check it out. Yeah I love 50s stuff so the box is awsome to me! Why did the 50s have to end?

  • HA HA!!! I grew up in the 50's as a kid so it was a VERY special time for me personally... Bill

  • This set has been out for two weeks now and I got mine at LEGO SHOP AT HOME USA. You can order it on AMAZON but the delivery is 3-4 weeks. It sells for $39.99. Your best bet is to get it directly from LEGO as they ship immediately. This is a great collection of wonderful basic bricks!!! The retro box is way cool... Bill

  • Thank you... A neat tribute to the wonderful world of LEGO... Bill

  • Retro box and golden brick!!

    Thats really a deal! HAHAHA...

    Xariel

  • The old timer picture was in great shape on the box cover so it is probably the real thing and NOT a mock up modern picture. BTW - NO INSTRUCTION MANUAL. Just the box - a ton of bricks - and some ideas on the outside... Bill

  • So you got it shipped in congratulations on Lego's 50th!

  • Kudos to LEGO!!! Thanks for the nice comments!!! Bill

  • awsome, nice 1!!!!!

  • Thanks. Building these SIMPLISTIC models makes me kinda want to build more. There are more pictures on the box of a circus scene that I will probably build SOON. And I have a old timer LEGO IDEA book with a ton of ideas - but NOT THAT FAR BACK. I'm looking for a IDEA book of SIMPLISTIC models for early vintage LEGO... Bill

  • AWESOME SET- I luv the col;ors- by the way, what is this AMZING SONG CALLED??

  • Gary numan - Cars ;)

  • HA HA!!! Right on... Bill

  • The first song is the THEME AND INTRO song to the FAMOUS movie 2001 A Space Odyssey made in 1968. The second one was Gary Numan and CARS - a VERY GREAT song as well - with a modern flare. You know flush the old and then new for the 50 year set... Bill

The City of Prague Philharmonic purchase the rights to songs and do a FANTASTIC job at re-cutting the older songs. I own quite a number of their Cd's and sometimes the music is not had anywhere else. • Grats on acquiring that set Bill. You have to get TOWN PLAN next, that looks like an amazing set, but a bit too expensive for me. Also, had to say thanks for recommending GADUNKA, I wasn't able to find GADUNKA, but in my searches I found MAXILOS & SPINAX, looks like a great set; building it as I watch your videos.

  • I'll have to chek on MAXILOS & SPINAX. I have the TOWN PLAN but just haven't yet built it. Thanks for the nice comments... Bill

  • HA HA!!! This is a great model and you can get it in the LEGO SHOP AT HOME shop (at least the USA). Great fun and a wonderful set for the 50 YEAR ANNIVERSARY of LEGO... Bill
