Most performances that the judges say are off-pitch, I can't even notice; they just have an ear for it. But, with this one, I noticed the second Candace comes in that it was just plain off.

the chords were sorta off for a bit, like when candance comes in you can see in her face she's trying to find the note, and before that their harmonic structure was fluctuating, but i mean it was JUST barely off. I am at a loss as to why the judges kept afro blue, darmouth aires and urban method over delilah. it sucks cuz right after this, vocal point got the boot to

1:28 to 1:31 is one of the major holes. I was expecting them to do something, but there was nothing there. The singers are all fabulous, so it was only the arranging that suffered. They definitely didn't deserve to go off so soon after all of their amazing performances.

I admit a bias against all-woman groups because the tone tends to be more shrill due to most of the voices being in higher registers. That said, when this group was on, they were really on. I felt they did waver, technically, too often to stay in the competition at this point.

The judges were spot on unfortunately. Plus, their strength is in the more dynamic upbeat numbers with lots of bass, beatboxing, and feminine strength. I love the song, but its just depressing and a poor choice. They could've totally made it to the finale had they chosen a sassy Carrie Underwood or Miranda Lambert song.

This is one of my favorite songs and these girls totally butchered it. I mean I liked Delilah ok, but this wasn't good at all and they deserved to go home. They couldn't keep up with the likes of Dartmouth Aires or Pentatonix.

Eh, I love the song but not so fond of the arrangement. But I like the voices, sounds pretty. But I disagree with Mike, the top three should've been Vocal Point, Pentatonix, and Dartmouth Ares (however it's spelled) Urban Method's ok but not top three worthy in my opinion.

They are so marketable, and being in the studio they could do multiple takes to correct any pitch issues. If I had a label, I'd sign them in a heartbeat. It should've been them and Afro Blue in the finale.

I think one of their problems was that they kept doing songs in keys higher than the original. I mean, this song is originally sung by a girl, why are they doing it a whole step up? I'm in an all-female a cappella group, and we just modify the bass line if THAT'S too low. It just sounds like they're all yelling.

And I have to agree with others--after listening to it several times now, I don't hear tuning issues in the harmonies so much as I hear some holes at times, which may be what the judges were referring to when they talked about them trying to 'find each other.' Agreed. This wasn't as bad as how judges framed it up. Perceived pitch problems were the poly-rhythms in arrangement making unusual dissonance. Delilah made a choice of a lesser known ballad to stand out amongst the crowd of expected, fun, uptempo "yee-haw" songs. It backfired. Also, I think the producers & judges held them to a higher standard since they were a formulated contrived group. Aside from eye-candy, Delilah doesn't have a good TV human-interest angle to persuade producers to keep'em.

I was surprised that the judges focused so much on how "off-key" they sounded, when a couple of the other performances that night had more glaring pitch issues, which they just kind of glossed over.

Also, sometimes singers and musicians will "warm up to a note" as a way of increasing the intensity and vibrato of the sound, and that's what Delilah did here. I just hope they get an opportunity to develop and showcase their talent in the future.

you have to love how the standard for this show is so high that when a group is NOT EVEN A HALF STEP off key they are called out on it. I mean they were literally not even off key, they just had half of the group on top of the notes and the other half on the bottom of the notes....man I love this show, total music nerdgasm

This is actually the first time I actually liked a Delilah performance. There were pitch problems, but I only noticed them on the 2nd watch. The singers singing the background chorus were not with each other at all.
