For starters, the lyrics is better.

Secondly, I hate when they redub movies for no apparent reason

and add scenes that weren't included in the cinema's/VHS editions.

Also I prefer the dubbing voices in the 89 version rather than the 99.

The only voice I actually do like in the 99 version is Antti Pääkkönen's (the voice of Sebastian).

@anima07swe I must say that in my opinion Eric's voice is way better in '99 dub.. he sounds manly but young and he's somehow very basic Finnish prince voice. '89 Eric sounds some parts very girlish, other parts like some old pervert, and his voice is already Beast, Dodger, Tramp.. But I agree that this reprise has way better lyrics in '89 version...

It's hard to say which one is the so-called "official" Finnish Ariel. I think some people would say Nina but I must disagree. Johanna has done a lot more work as Ariel than Nina. Johanna did the 1st movie and all the 31 episodes of Little Mermaid TV series. Nina did only the movies. So that's why Nina is probably more likeable for the foreigners. I don't expect them to see the TV series. However most Finns prefer Johanna, that's a fact.

Mielipidekysymys mikä sopii ja mikä ei. Olisin samaa mieltä jos kyseessä olisi joku muu piirretty mutta Disneyn tyyliinhän kuuluu että prinsessa kuulostaa "vanhemmalta" ja "oopperamaiselta". Kuuntelehan esimerkiksi Lumikkia, Auroraa, Pocahontasta tai Jasminea.

89 versio on mun suosikkini. Tietysti tämä johtuu siitä, että olen katsonut ja kuunnellut koko lapsuuteni tätä versiota. En voi moittia myöskään uuden version ääntä. Sen sijaan uuden version uusi suomennos saa karvani niin pystyyn, etten ole koskaan saanut uutta veriota loppuun asti katsottua.

I hope you ALL people realize that Johanna's singing is the CD VERSION!!! She sounds totally different in the real movie version. That one is also availeable here in YouTube.

Itse koen Ninan äänen paremmaksi Arielille koska Johannan ääni on niin paljon vanhempi kuin Ninan ja Ariel tosiaan on 16 eikä vähintään kolmekymppinen. Joten oma vastaukseni on että Nina on parempi
