You should do more that pedal angle.. Just one question, because I'm recording a demo with my band, you use how much mics ? One for the hi-hat, for toms, how do you record ?
3 mics is normally the minimum you will need to get a good drum recording.
(a pair of overheads which should be condenser mics) plus a bass drum mic. I normally use a snare mic and tom mics too so I use at least 6 mics for most of my recordings. Some people like to mic the hi hat aswell but I find that the overheads pick up the hi hat pretty well. If you have enough channels and mics to use then mic everything, but if you are limited, try just a pair of overheads and a bass mic.
The next most important mic is the snare mic (Shure sm57 is the normal mic to use for the snare if you have one) Make sure your overheads are positioned equally spaced from the snare and then pan them left and right in the mix. That way the snare will right in the middle of the mix. I normally have an overhead above my hi hat (about 3 feet above it) and one above my ride cymbal about the same height as the other mic. I record on my laptop using Cubase. Good luck!
Awesome! Love to play with this along on guitar, thx 4 uploading!

Double kick shuffles are much harder to master than simply going nuts and playing high speed double kick 16/32 etc. Very well done!
