  • the patriot game's a foot!

  • Bias Movie.. The IRA would never do the tactics that they do in the movie.. They give warnings and do not tend to kill women and childrern if people think.. Would you rather be fighting the Taliban or IRA in the North.. The IRA have done some stupiud things in the ppast, but must we forget what the brits done?To get rid of evil you need to get rid of the source..

  • that kid at the beginning got blown away...literally

  • Jack Ryan is one of my favorite characters in books and films. Only Harrison Ford - could as well play this role!

    Good trailer! Good luck!

  • @Serega2000L

I am a big fan of Ford (I love Han Solo and Indiana Jones, including Crystal Skull), and I do think he does a really good job here and in CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER. But to be honest I would have liked to have seen how Baldwin (The portrayer of Ryan in RED OCTOBER) take a shot at the other films. Harrison has always come off to me more as a straightforward tough/rugged action hero. Baldwin came off more to me as the CIA analyst type. Just my thoughts.

  • @Serega2000L Good thoughts, but I'm still not seeing the moviereading the book is represented the by John Ryan, Harrison Ford as such.

  • damn i forgot samuel l jackson was in this.

  • the devil's own is better

  • Stop whining you Irish fucks. The only reason you Irish-AMERICAN fucks are so pissed is because the only reason you have so much pride is because you watched The Boondock Saints so many times. I hate that movie so much cause it makes Irish-American fucks think they know so much about their history. Im Scottish and Braveheart isn't my source of my pride. The IRA have always been terrorists, deal with it. I bet the Taliban calls themselves "freedom fighters" too. Freedom can mean diff things 2 ppl

  • @DeathsBite so the old ira are terrorrist well not according to your queen she honoured them when she was here and i am scottish born and my family is scottish but i was raised in ireland you probally some lowland scumbag who worships the english go marry and fuck one then get out of our country.

  • @DeathsBite fuck you pig. the ira have done bad things but the sas and mi5 have done alot worse you fucking scumbag. btw how dare you compare people who blow themselves up like cowards and treat women like shit with the ira.

  • @DeathsBite nobody likes you ya worthless little scottish cunt, keep sucking off your english masters

  • @DeathsBite Its a movie ya cunt, so's Boondock Saints, and if you are smart you'd know the difference. You should consider the individual before you start calling all of us fucks. Are you some kind of fuck? Why don't you just come over, and we'll invite ya to the bar of your choice and we'll buy ya a beer and let by-gones be by-gones...it's better that way

  • @DeathsBite Stop labeling Irish Americans as Irish then if you want to make a valid argument.. George washington and his lads were Terrorists, Its necessary some of the things that have to done to accomplish a aim, but the IRA have made stupid mistakes and decisions.. But I wouldnt compare them to the Taliban.. Maybe the PLO, but not theTaliban..

  • @DeathsBite Someone's kilt is in a twist

  • @DeathsBite shut the fuk up real irish people like myself know our history better than any scottsman knows theirs and our history shows that we fight for freedom and nothing elste but i agree with you in the sense that whats still goning on in the north is wrong the people blowing shit up these days are doing it out of haterid and money and disshonouring the irish republic un like the easter rising and the hunger strikers

  • wait....the ira are the BAD guys in this movie, you fucking serious?

  • Cool trailer

  • This movie is reminding me of Aamir Khan's movie BAAZI

  • "There has never been a terrorist attack on American soil" was edited out of the movie because it sounded like a challenge.

  • true story

  • S.A.S bitchessssss!

  • Can anyone tell me the name of the actual real-life person that Jack Ryan is modeled after?

  • @ub2bu2b Steve Pieczenik

  • @ub2bu2b I think he's just a ran guy than Tom Clancy came up with.

  • Comment removed

  • the ironic thing is. America funded the IRA.

  • @aidenmccloskey

colonel gaddafi too. we funded the taliban also. life always has ironic twists and turns

  • @Glaswegianmark indeed it does

  • This film is complete biased bullshit

    up the ira

  • @podgewalsh4 most irish support IRA,right????????????

  • @folladordeprostis theres no clear amount of support in ireland any more for the IRA but nearly everyone is still republican.

  • @podgewalsh4 cuban press support IRA

  • @podgewalsh4 except that they were not really part of the IRA, they were a faction that broke off because the IRA wasn't radical enough for them.

  • I love this movie WAY more than Clear and Present Danger, in fact I would say it's my Fav Jack Ryan Film (Hunt for Red Oct, Patriot Games,Clear n Present Danger,Sum of All Fears)

  • MY WIFE MY FAMILY

  • @jimbobjimminy

lol its a common harrison ford thing.

GIVE ME BACK MY FAMILY! GIVE ME BACK MY WIFE!

  • nice film

  • Great, tense and thrilling Thriller/Action movie. I liked Harrison Ford's acting very much but Sean Bean made this film - he was just brilliant!!! The whole cast did a decent job. I miss the 90's

  • UP THE RA YOU YANKEE BASTARDS

  • bullshit

    UP THE IRA

  • 0:18 - HAN SOLO harrison ford

0:42 - MACE WINDU samuel jackson

0:56 DARTH VADER jame earl jones

  • This is when everyone thought the Americans were the good guys. What happened?

  • @jackolavin Americans are still the good guys, just certian media groups point out to be the bad guys because of Iraq, people seem to think Iraq was France or something lol

  • people, stop criticizing usa... they have superman, hulk and terminator! :)

  • americans are clueless....wish they would just shut the fuck up

  • Dan LaFontaine at his finest!

  • just finished the book

  • It's funny how all the idiots here start blaming everything on the Americans.

  • what the fuck, the IRA where freedom fighters, not terrorists or gangsters. This never happened, americans dont have a fuckin clue what the war was like.

  • fucking americans have no business with the IRA

  • now its movies & music vs my mom

  • irish pig

  • @TheNasurudin asshole

  • YOu know that this is actually a prequel to Red October.

  • Sean Bean was awesome in this movie. :)

  • lol they just spoiled the entire film.

  • DONT MESS WITH HIS FUCKING FAMILY!!!

  • i thought baldwin was a better jack ryan

  • Harrison ford has the same exact family in Clear and Present Danger.

  • @philboudreau138 Thats because the two are part of a series.

  • @philboudreau138 Both are based on tom clancy novels written about the character, Jack Ryan, as were the sum of all fears and the hunt for red october, just with different actors

  • @philboudreau138 That's because he's playing the same exact character.

  • 1:08.....:(

  • i just finished this book, now tiem to watch this move on netflix

  • 1.05 -9 years later that wasnt so true

  • fucking right wing tom clancy shite

  • the cat-and-mouse game sequence in Ryan's house was quite intense.

  • i think today's IRA is not supported by society as it was ie in the 1920s or even during the troubles, although im hungarian so i only know whats being said in studies. yet its funny to watch what a different approach americans have to terrorism when it comes to the IRA...its irish its understandable, not like with the arabs...really upsetting.

  • If Gary Cooper and Gregory Peck had had a child together, it would have been Harrison Ford.

  • This trailer gives sooooooo much away! lol

  • @mahargraham85... did you know 88 years has passed since that wee vote your talking about occured and the simple fact of the matter is catholics are the bigger proportion of the population in the north of Ireland today. The IRA and similar splinter groups only became active in order to defend their own against the onslaught of attack from loyalist communities and the british government (Bloody Sunday). So if that was to be voted on again, Ireland would be rightfully renamed a 32 county republic

  • great country - past tense

  • @SlappinTheMonkey Which country, Ireland or America?

  • If it weren't for Ford this would be a good movie. They shouldn't have let go of the dude from Hunt for Red October.

  • Great movie. A Great Country. American

  • why is this full of Americans who think they know what they are talking about when it comes to the troubles, I ask you this, do you think the USA should give back all the land to the native Americans and you should all move back to Europe?

  • .22 5,000,000,000,000 trillion sperms 22.

  • I love this movie. One of my top 5 favorites. I love the scene where the guy is watching tv, enjoying a cup of tea, casually gets up, walks across the room and blows away an assassin through the door with a shotgun, after which he mutters, "that's me holdin' my temper Jimmy Boy."

  • Is this movie good or is a B action movie???

  • @kondurperusix Tom Clancy classic man: This is class A stuff. It won awards.

  • O shit ,really??? so is a good action movie and not a b-action movie such as jean claude van damme movies

  • Van damme.... yuck! Nah it's top drawer. A class movie.

  • Look guys this is a fictional movie based on a fictional novel. Fictional means that it mustn't totally be true. If there is any problem its with the book and not the movie. Go blame Clancy for all I care. Don't like the movie? DONT WATCH IT. Dont go around spewing all sort of C@#$ flaming and trolling this video... because just as you dont like this movie... some of us do.

  • left right south north east west bullshit

play GTA and dont judge nations

  • northern ireland belongs to the irish people meaning a united ireland its simple as that and the troubles will never go away you carnt invade a country and then exspect everybody to 4get about it it just dosent happen all they want is there country bk and quite writely so

  • lol three of the actors worked in star wars... james earl jones, ford, and jackson

  • They missed Sean Bean of all the Credits........ He's the second character.

  • @GTSinc100 Holy crap! :D

  • @GTSinc100 Samuel L Jackson wasn't in Star Wars, those movies never were

  • @Teldumor yes he was in the new trilogy he was the fag with the purple lightsaber sword thingy

  • Great movie, great cast and great soundtrack. Harrison Ford in his best role.

  • Aah those times, when people loved the good ones, now it is all different. Ppl, as society (at least in Lat Am) loves bad guys, loves criminals and local corrupted govs. Wheres Ford? wheres george clooney

  • boromir from LOTR !

  • i love this film, im reading the novel at the moment

  • The novel and movie are not realistic.

There is no mention of loyalist paramilitary groups like the UVF or UDA who terrorised Irish Catholic nationalists in Northern Ireland at the same time that the Provisional IRA were attacking the British Army and the RUC and launching bomb attacks against Britain.

It is very unlikely that Irish republicans would launched an attack on a British politician or against American citizens on US soil.

Their war was with the British government not America.

  • Its also intresting to note (that that I support of defend them in any way as they are just as bad) that groups like the UVF did not turn up untill the late 50s/60s while the Republican movement have been blowing people up in England since the 1800s.

Anyway Harrison Ford did his sympthy IRA film with Brad Pitt in The Devil's Own which was also a load of balls

  • aww my boyfriend is the grown up little boy in the car at the beginning! and hes still that blonde and cute!

  • I enjoyed this!

Can't wait to read the book!

  • Gotta love Robby

  • i red the book

  • YUread the boook

  • I think Sean Bean is a good actor, well suited to tough/ bad guy roles, he should be in more films, now that he`s older he would cast well as a mercenary and I prefer him to Jason Stratham, who does not have such a range

  • Don LaFontain ftw

  • RIP :(

  • Later, Churchill openly acknowledged the excesses of the Black and Tans, admitting in the House of Commons: "It was quite impossible to prevent the police and military making reprisals on their own account."

Well well well. What a pretty picture your own leader paints of murderous crown forces. Oliver i think people can see your full of SHIT on irish history. You views are pathetically one sided and your failure to condemn murder by the crown forces is sad. Your a bitter little man.

  • I've read all off your comments, and i dont know how you can say that they have one sided views, because you're unbelievably biased. I'm not denying the Black and Tans commited some heinous crimes, but the IRA also commited some terrible crimes in years to come, both sides have that's the nature of war, it brings out the worst in people. There will never be peace if people keep going over the same ground.

  • When one side stomps all over the other side's rights for 700 years until they finally start to fight back out, you can't blame them both for destroying the peace process. Yes, the IRA have done things that could be considered war crimes and I'm not saying that's good, but they did not start the war and you can't ask Ireland to just sit back and accept Britain's crap for the sake of peace and security.

  • That's exactly what I think. If America was attacked and annexed, your telling me us as Americans wouldn't make a guerilla force to fight against the oppressers? I don't consider them terrorists, but freedom fighters. War crimes you say? Did you know a recent study said that Britain caused 90% of terrorism in the Troubles. The Brits are war criminals too if you want to get into it.

  • Did you know a recent study said you know sod all about NI? Jesus Britain caused 90% of terrorism? I ask you why the British government would blow up people who voted for it, and its own army and police force?

Ireland got its freedom in the 1920s, every part voted if it wanted to stay British or be Irish, 6 counties in Ulster voted VOTED to be British and since then the IRA, PIRA, CIRA etc have been blowing up women and children and WWII survivors on remembrance day.

  • here its site to talk about the movie not the made up history You are talkin about. Please do every family who lost a member during the troubles or who's home was destroyed and look up the facts on irish independence and northern ireland then bother another movie site with them. P.S The republic of Ireland act was in 1949

  • Yep, just jump on the side of the guys who fire an Uzi at a schoolgirl on her way home... Moron. Recent studies show 90% of the idiotic comments on youtube come from complete simpletons.

  • @BeastlyGerman - "Did you know a recent study said that Britain caused 90% of terrorism in the Troubles." What recent study? IRA Monthly magazine? So it wasn't the IRA but Britain that shot dead 14yr old Kathleen Feeney in 1973 or murdered 3 yr old Johnathan Ball and 12 yr old Tim Parry with the Warrington bomb in 1993? The British not the IRA who planted the bombs at Warrenpoint, Birmingham, Enniskillen, Hyde Park, Manchester ,Omagh etc,.etc,.etc.,? You're living in your own little world.

  • @BeastlyGerman Well in that case then all of humanity and all the world's leaders past and present would be considered war criminals and all of us should be condemned. Is that what you say? It's one thing to be a freedom fighter fighting for your country's independence, another thing to be blowing up innocent people and shooting people who have nothing to do with the whole situation and then hide under the banner of "freedom fighting". That's what the IRA is.

  • @Nelsonwmj What do you mean by IRA?

  • @DarthMonkeyBoy I mean the Irish Republican Army, or at least that's what i remember of it. Basically this paramilitary group supposedly fighting for independence by going around British citizens and properties and blowing them up.

  • @BeastlyGerman Seriously dude. What shitty little magazines have you been reading? Don't even begin to talk about causing terrorism.

  • @BeastlyGerman You sir, are a penis.

  • @BeastlyGerman The Brits are terrorists in uniforms.

  • @IrishNY1 fuck of you fenian scum

  • @BeastlyGerman

    bollocks

  • @BeastlyGerman No, at the time of this movie, Samuel L. Jackson was not yet a Jedi Warrior.

  • @BeastlyGerman no we get blamed for war crimes because of you americans dragging us into everything and then ducking out and leaving the rest to us

  • @BeastlyGerman huh? Taliban are not freedom Fighters rofl.hell most are not even from Afghanistan.

  • @BeastlyGerman They WERE freedom fighters in the 1916-20s and the Brits were 'terrorists' themselves. Since then the IRA were killing their own people just to make a point, and now, even when the IRA are dispanded, there are still some who want to disrupt a peace process and instead kill innocent police offiers who take no sides. That's terrorism.

  • @BeastlyGerman They are scum of the fuckin earth, if you have ever met someone who was in the IRA you would know that. They are hated in Northern Ireland by both Catholics and Protestants. They are now fighting a battle which ended years ago.

  • @BeastlyGerman I'm an Irish Republican American and I absolutley agree with you (haha). Ireland was Britain's first colony and they were treated terribly by Britain. That also happened in India if you haven't forgotten, but let's stick with Ireland for now. All they want is Northern Ireland to be part of Ireland. To many people, (26+6) still equals 6!!! I disliked how Bush and Blair picked out different "Freedom Fighters", like the IRA and called them Terrorists. That's total bullcrap.

  • @91FMORRIS "The majority of Ireland seceded the United Kingdom in 1922 following a guerrilla war. The Anglo-Irish Treaty concluded this war and established the Irish Free State as a self-governing dominion within the British Commonwealth. Northern Ireland chose to remain as part of the United Kingdom." Why, then, did those from the Republic, claiming to be 'freedom fighters', attack and kill men women and children through the UK for the sake of NI when NI wanted to remain part of the UK?

  • @Iluvantir your a complete moron northern ireland didnt chose to be a part of the united kingdom only the protestant loyalists wanted to remain apart of britain the irish in the north had no choice in the matter and were treated like second class citizens in there own country thats why they rebeled, and the majority of people in the provisional ira were from northern ireland not the south you fucking gobshite

  • @BeastlyGerman--You're right man, but it's politics that get in the way of who his called a terrorist from a freedom fighter. God bless Bobby Sands, Michael Collins, and our Founding Fathers for believing in something that is right. The IRA is backed by the country of Ireland, people forget that. When you mess with them, you mess with an entire Country. Just watch the footage of the Civil Rights Movement or even Bobby Sands funeral. Thats Nationalism at its finest!!! One country bonded together.

  • You could say the same about the Middle East's response to the West's uninvited intervention.

  • @NYanarchy08

The British are often protecting Irish citizens as well as themselves against the IRA.

  • Also oliver you need to condemn the black and tans actions in ireland.

You litte subject. You need to follow the lead of the king at the time.

  • Well oliver1649 you are clearly caught out here. You are going to have to condemn the following as well. RIC CONSTABLE 75719 WILLIAM MITCHELL WAS EXECUTED FOR KILLING A CATHOLIC SHOPKEEPER.

poor old olvier 1649 cant accept crown force murder in ireland. You seriously need to read up on history you ulster sponger.

  • "Murders other than how it happened would indeed be an exercise in deceit and omission, for here was the ultimate act of terrorism, even the British press abhorred it. "The Belfast Telegraph(a unionist paper) editorial.

  • But oliver i asked you the mcmahon murder question first about two years ago. It seems to me you just cant accept the fact that the crown forces commited murder in ireland. Saldy For you oliver1649 people realise the truth about the crown forces in Ireland. Now run along little man and go spong off the british governmnet like the rest of the unionist community.

  • No justice for the Mcmahon family even though RUC memebers admited murder. Cowardly nixon who's own men called him a murder was awarded an MBE. yet cowardly Oliver1649 still cant accept cowardly murder by the crown forces in ireland. He even claims Bloody sunday in dublin wasnt a war crime ie killing of unarmed cillivians. What a joke this guy is. Is it any wonder his wife left him.

  • No doubt this is all sickening reading, and it brings to mind what someone said recently, ..I am not asking you to forget the past.. but to remember it differently. I am not sure what that means, brush the bad bits under the carpet, fudge and re-write history?. But whatever was meant by it I can only feel that the suggestion is to not relate history as it happened, and to tell the story of the McMahon

  • Murders other than how it happened would indeed be an exercise in deceit and omission, for here was the ultimate act of terrorism, even the British press abhorred it. The Belfast Telegraph covered it extensively.

  • Owen McMahon, respected Catholic publican lived with his family at 3 Kinnaird Terrace, off the Antrim Road, at 1.20 am on 24th March 1922, the family were in their beds, loud bangs were heard then running footsteps on the staircase. On the landing armed men snapped out orders for the males to get downstairs, they herded the females into a back room.

  • The front door of the McMahon home had been burst in with a sledge hammer, according to Constable Furlong, who later reported to the I.R.A that two members of the murder squad, Constables Sterritt and Gordon had went to a Corporation workmans hut at Carlisle Circus and took away a sledge hammer. Having gained excess to the house and gathered all the males together shots rang out and the intruders ran from the building led by D.I. Nixon.

  • District Inspector John William Nixon R.I.C. Was described in the Michael Collins Intelligence files as an arrant coward, and never ventures abroad unless accompanied by an escort in civilian clothes. The cowards had left five dead and two dying. Owen McMahon.(Father) (50) Thomas McMahon (15) Frank McMahon (24) Patrick McMahon (22) Edward McKinney (25) Wounded.. John McMahon (21) Bernard McMahon (26) , Both John and Bernard died later.

  • Oliver what are you hiding by not answer questions on the Mcmahon murders for the last two years. You must bew able to come up with an answer by now. How can the ruc men who murdered him be consider heros by you as you clearly stated thatJohn nixon, who was later proved a murderer by informants in his own ranks, was deserving of an MBE. Why cant you give me a straight answer after two years.

  • "We robbed the Irish people of their language and their literature, and we attempted to rob them of their Church. We colonised Ireland - especially the north - with people loyal to the Crown and the Protestant faith, and we persecuted the native Irish when they would not conform to our religion"

Church of england statement on ireland.

  • And they tried to did so to the Acadians and Quebecers.

  • Hello good old sponger oliver. Could you give me a straight answer on the mcmahon murders? Didnt think so you sponger. Your a laughing stock to the british mainland and the world.

  • Paul,

I thought you'd have been taught by now that it's bad manners to answer a question with another question.

You know, I'd be happy to address any points you might have once you answer my one and only question - first posed some 3 months ago.

Lol....as I've always stated, just let me know when you're ready.

  • now you all no what the uk stands for greed and murder

  • As for the Protestant settlers, we planted them there for our own political ends, requiring of them declarations of "loyalty". We took shameless advantage of that loyalty, encouraging them to develop the land and then its industry for our prosperity. We exhorted them to fight for us, and permitted them to die, in unparalleled numbers, in two world wars. Then we let them know, in 1993, that we no longer had any selfish strategic, military or economic interest in keeping them in the United Kingdom

  • Great to see the church of england recognize England's and loyalists shame.

  • We robbed the Irish people of their language and their literature, and we attempted to rob them of their Church. We colonised Ireland - especially the north - with people loyal to the Crown and the Protestant faith, and we persecuted the native Irish when they would not conform to our religion

  • . We drove Roman Catholics into exile, and killed thousands of men, women and children - and we invoked God as our justification. We failed (150 years ago) to feed a starving people whose country was politically a part of our own, leaving millions to die or emigrate without hope. We demeaned the Irish people by caricaturing them as stupid, drunken and feckless, and when they protested, we met violence with violence. That is why there is an all-enduring sense of injustice.

  • Yet it is important for us, this side of the Irish Sea, to remember that Bloody Sunday - terrible as it was - was one event (albeit a defining one) in centuries of purblind and self-interested British policy towards Ireland, which has left both communities deeply wounded. Protestants feel an overwhelmingsenseof betrayal; Catholics, a still more potent sense of injustice.

  • Belfast celtic never played again due to fear of loyalist attacks.

  • Catholics were living in terror in belfast in 1940s. One attack shocked the world in particular. Boxing Day 1948 at the annual Linfield- Belfast Celtic game at Windsor Park. Celtic were winning for most of the match but Linfield equalised in the last minute. Linfield fans invaded the pitch and attacked several Celtic players including centre-forward Jimmy Jones who suffered a broken leg. This shocked the world as seven of the celtic them were protestants. Catholics were not even now able to play

  • A chief Belfast death squad leader was Inspector John Nixon. The Stormont government eventually tried to dismiss him, but backed off when he threatened to publicly name senior police and unionist politicians who had helped in the murder gangs.

Nixon was elected five times to Britain's Parliament and he was awarded an MBE by King George in 1923 for his "valuable service during the troubled period''.

What a nice lot these unionists leaders were.

  • Comment removed

  • Oliver why did the brits abandon the unionists in the south of ireland in 1921? Why Oliver? Why? If it was right to rule ireland Why did the brits run away in 1921? Why Oliver? Why?

  • Murderer's I think not!!!!!!!!!! proud fucking soldier's is what the IRA were !!! Any Irish man would take a bullet for his country !!!!!!!!!!!!! and fuck you who say otherwise ! , Every country has the right to fight for it's freedom !!!!!!!!!!!

  • unnoblegnome09,

    Warrington, February 1993....

The Provisional IRA set off a no-warning bomb in a busy town centre.

    Among the many innocent casualties:

12-year-old Tim Parry and 2-year-old Johnathan Ball.

Can you explain to us all how these deaths were not murders?

  • In fact the IRA killed the most:

    -Children (47)

    -Old Age Pensioners (90)

    -Roman Catholics (341)

    -Women (139)

    -Kidnapped Race Horses (Shergar) (1)

They were top of the charts in all these categories.
