  • Canadas best playing one of the best from another Canadian gem.

    Awesome.

  • sweet jesus, if i was there seeing the hip and they played this song I would piss myself the second I recognized the first couple notes

  • Thank u for posting this! Two of my favourite bands in one!

  • Seeing Paul get to sing his own verse is like the best thing ever, I don't think that has ever happened before!!

  • Who is singing with the hip?

  • @zdurrant kathleen edwards, it was a great show. i was there.

  • would have been awesome if he could have traveled back in time and sang with the ban on the last waltz

  • Gordo must have been sick :( still rockin it though. Fuckin Eh!

  • i was at this show :D 3rd row center! was incredible, I could literally see the sweat drip from every pore!

  • While the Hip can't be the Band, it is an excellent cover by a freakin great band. Come to NYC Gord, Albany is too far for me!

  • Man, if you called Gord Downie a terrible singer in my home town (and his), Kingston, Ontario you'd be strung up! These guys (+ Don Cherry and Doug Gilmour) are gods around here!

  • @BigDaddyFN

you forgot kirk muller, the headstones, moist, dan aykroyd, the list goes on Kingston is the greatest city in canada..........................

  • Love this cover...thank you.

  • you can fuck right off

  • well said hipfan

  • @HipFan87 you can fuck on

  • Is there a more cleaned up version of this song out there? An MP3 perhaps? Fantastic version by the best band to ever come out of Canada! (Not to take anything away from Rush)

  • the guess who???? lol

  • what about the band that actually wrote the song? THE BAND was 4/5ths canadian. the tragically hip are not the best canadian band of all time. THE BAND is.

  • its a close call though man

  • I'm with you man. There is NO band like THE Band.

  • I'd love/need to see Hip , Warren Haynes and Dave Matthews do any classic...

  • Cool to see Paul take a verse

  • omg paul sounds awesome when he sings,

  • I was so close to the stage that i wasnt hearing the speakers.... i was hearing the amps that the band would have been hearing.... was so amazinhg

  • i was third row center.... i could literally see "the sweat drip from every pore" :p the best show ive ever been to

  • YOU CAN SEE MY HEAD!

  • fuck ya wish i was there

  • The Hip are Canada's best artists as far as I'm concerned.

  • I love you Gordie!

  • i went and saw both shows in Barrie. they did Train in Vain the night before, from the Clash. The HIP RULE!!!

  • wait a fuckin minute, i swear she wipes his sweat off the floor, then afterwards uses the same fuckin towel to wipe his face...this doesnt do gordon downy justice...

  • whose the wench? she ruins it, WTF, is she wiping the his sweat off the floor? she almost distracted me from watching the real performers, i think gordon downy is YO, man, ive seen him perform, i was sober too.

  • I've seen The Hip at least 30 times - I've never seen this cover - thank you

  • the hip is the shit

  • Yeah Paul Langlois! The Most Underrated Vocalist of all time!

  • BARRIE ONTARIO PEOPLE!

  • the hip were in NYC a few months ago. they played 2 shows at irving plaza.

  • My wife and I went to both show's great time I love NYC... Im friends with Paul love the verse he sang in this song and this is ironicly my fav song in the whole world.. I think i may youtube myself a version and post it keep your eyes open

  • Garth Hudson, Rick Danko, Robbie Robertson, Richard Manuel = Canadian

    Levon Helm = American

    The Band = international goodness

  • but whos the third guitar player?????

  • nice to see Paul Langlois singing, I love his back up vocals

  • as is Robbie Robertson(Canadian)

  • yes, but the bassist is Rick Danko he is my best friends uncle and he is most definitely from Canada

  • The song they're covering is from The Band, which are Canadian like the Hip. Outside Canada the Hip aren't well known, hence no NYC shows.

  • the drummer from the Band is named levon helm and he is from arkansas

  • yeah there well known in northern new york and i pretty damn sure they do play new york city.

  • What is the song playing in Julians Monte Carlo when Jacob is driving through the forest, eventually ending up in the river? (trailer park boys)

  • My 26th Hip Show! Fun! This was the best song...... Horrible venue! Worst sound!

  • The hip never come to NYC :( :( :(

  • Is that Sarah singing with them? I love her too she is so freakin hot hehe. Another great performer and another great Hip Clip :D

  • I've seen the Hip 4 times and I was at this show and it was one of the best ones.

  • Yeah, they have been doing one cover song per show! I think that's an amazing idea. Phish used to do that sort of thing and put their own twist on it. I think it shows their talent and it makes ya wanna go to every show all the more! I have seen them 30 times, most recently here in Las Vegas where they played Suspicious Minds by Elvis. It was truly AMAZING, let me tell you.

  • amazing, the hip are Canadas best

  • uhhh, whatever. Gord downie is a freak. I seehim in interviews and he cant even just answer a question, thats called an asshole. Good tune though and go fuck yourselfs.

  • finally a voice of reason on you tube

  • Awesome Cover by the greatest Canadian Band ever of a song by the second best Canadian (Almost)band EVER!!!!!

  • the truth, its the shits . i,m so surprised that they would do someone elses song when they have so many great ones of there own. other then that the hip is the best band to come along as legends in along time

  • if you look at their recent tour's set lists they've been doing one cover song per show. They did Jumpin Jack Flash here in Seattle, it was awesome, I enjoy seeing a hugely accomplished band like The Hip do a cover tune now and then.

  • i love the hip, i love the band, amazing cover

  • i love the hip, i love the band, amazing cover

  • That GUY is Katheleen Edwards.

  • This makes me mad because I was going to see them in Barrie but my buddy got me Tickets for the London show so I went to that one and they didnt play this.

  • Sweet tune.... Good concert moment.

  • Just terrific!

  • Fantastic!

  • Woo Hoo! Thanks for sharing. Did you record the entire show? If so, will you post it to thehiptracker dot com?

  • who's the guy beside Langlois?

  • Sorry, it's not Kathleen, but it is probably her guitarist Colin Cripps.

  • excellent, thanks so much...good eye btw
