  • in the 600 coin game in gba there is a coin over the counter

  • Bullets, walking cacti, fire breathing dinosaurs, piranha plants... these guys picked a hell of a place for a picnic.

  • I've finished bothany times on mi GP2X Wiz

  • I remember playing this game in the first grade, I miss those times. Nowadays, its all about shooting games and violence and we forget all of the fun we used to have playing the simple games. Just watching this video made me want to buy myself a game boy and play this game from start to finish. Thank you Greenalink for bringing back those memories

  • @MrFaatiliga Yes I agree All though I prefer Sonic over Mario I remember playing this when growing up to on my first SP till I got grounded and some one stole it out of My Dad's Car with my Game to I so want this game again

  • @TheManasword all right man!

  • 1. The gba is a 32 bit system and the snes is 16 bit. Therefore the gba version most likely has better graphics although they are pretty much equal.

2.The reason for crappy gba sound is probably the recording software as the gba doesn't have sound anywhere near as this. (I have the game for my gba and Ive played it at my friends house on his snes)

    3. There is practically no reason to choose the snes version over the gba version or vice versa. They're the same damn game.

  • @expertnoobFTW nostalgia. that's the reason. and gba looks awful btw.

  • @expertnoobFTW

Tell that to Lunar Magic. Huhuhuhu

  • i can't figure out WHY they need to fuck with the original idea?

  • I prefer the SNES version. The GBA's music sounds cheap.

  • @airfoemoe WTF? GBA has a crappy mono speaker. How do you expect any sounds on there to be anything fantastic? If that is your only reason for playing the SNES version, I feel bad for you.

The GBA version is the SNES version you can take with you.

  • @mickeymouse12678 Wrong! You can bring the SNES version with you. Buy a smartphone, you'll see what I mean. Sound is a big deal to me and lots of people who grew up with SMW on SNES.

  • @airfoemoe I have a smartphone, and I've emulated games on it before. The one big problem for me is that I HATE emulated buttons on a touchscreen! Have you ever tried playing a game this way??? Sure, it's fine for RPG's like Pokemon... but games that require precision controlling do not work at all.

If you grew up with it on your SNES, by all means keep playing it there. But just don't be so quick to bash the GBA version simply because of the sound quality.

  • @mickeymouse12678 Bluetooth gamepads exist, Xperia play, and game gripper for keyboard phones. GBA version is good, I just prefer SNES.

  • @airfoemoe Hmm... I posted a response, but it disappeared.

Anyway... bluetooth gamepads aren't worth the hassle for a smartphone, and not many people have the Xperia Play. The GBA version is simply an alternative to the real thing. If you're away from home, the GBA version is a comparable version.

I respect that you like the SNES version better. It's the real deal. And I do appreciate that you agree that the GBA version isn't bad.

  • @airfoemoe Well it is on a handheld that had trouble matching the system but still pretty good but the Music Super Mario Bros. Deluxe and Donkey Kong on the Game Boy Color and Game Boy respectfully sounds good and those were their first remakes

  • @airfoemoe ill go 4 GBA

  • I can admit that the Super Nintendo version has the superior music and graphics but the Gameboy Advance version has the better gameplay and graphics.

  • winning in roulette is just a dream for some people..but now its not....Roulette Secret has brought you the best online tricks of the game that can make you the winner in roulette..check it out guys...!!

  • I like GBA version better because I loved it as a kid

  • do you get any rewards, or achievements, or anything, for collecting all he "DRAGON" coins, in the GBA, version?

  • Is the GBA version's intro music a remix of SMB3 ending?

  • gba better

  • Dear Mario and Luigi, perhaps if you didn't ditch the princess showin off, Bowser wouldn't have taken her. Is that why she keeps getting took? And she STILL hangin around Mario? Peach, find a better man. One that takes care of you and doesn't put you in harms way. Lol

  • Is there a way to replay the defeated castles on the GBA version? I Know on the SNES version you could replay the castles by pressing L+R buttons.

  • @jamesffxl

Clear Bowser's Castle so that you can replay the other castles as many times as you want, you don't even need to hold L+R when revisiting the completed castles.

  • oye yo ya ise todos los niveles en la vercion GBA y no sale el mapa de otoño me podrias ayudar

  • I personally feel the GBA version, like most all GBA ports of SNES I have, was an improvement over the original.

@nepomusik- Those 2 things you dislike about the GBA one are among the reasons the GBA one is an improvement, as they addressed issues that gave me nothing but frustration and grief!

  • Personally I feel that the GBA version is good for those who don't have the SNES one. About the only things I really dislike about the GBA one are the ability to save anywhere and not immediatly shrinking to small Mario when hit; it really removes a lot of the challenge.

But I love the GBA one for one simple reason: PORTABLE.

  • I think the improvements for GBA where very cool, but I prefer the SNES graphics.

  • i have both versions but the original is way fucken better

  • Oh hey look, you can move for a sloid two seconds before the message appears at the beggining of the SNES game. AWESOMENESS.

  • I don't care about any of the other changes, I just wish they didn't add those stupid voices for the GBA version. :-/

  • SNES is the best entertainment system since,,,,well,,,,EVER! its amazing, and nothing can top it.

  • Comment removed

  • I didn't mind the changes too much; well, maybe that's because I can still play the original.

  • I can't stand mario talking at all. Thats the beauty of the NES and SNES games. Mario talking got really annoying really fast and they'll never get rid of it.

  • 2:01

Why does it still say Princess Toadstool rather than Princess Peach? Is it something the programmers missed?

I had a hypothosis that had me find a difference between Toadstool and Peach; and that was their hair color. Toadstool had brown hair while Peach is a blond. But the two minute mark in the video completely threw me off!

  • @rswan5 Her name was always Peach in Japan, but it was changed to Princess Toadstool in America and stayed that way until Super Mario 64. Nothing but a name change.

  • @RedtheGhost Of course! It all makes sense! Thanks for clearing that up for me.

  • This proves that games are becoming easy!

  • Who cares there both great games of corse the snes version will always be the best ever!

  • You people are idiots in complaining about the sound and graphics of smw gba. Get over it, it is pretty much the same magnificent classic on the snes. The gameplay is what really matters. I'm sorry but people complain way too much about the simplest issues. I had just as much fun on the gba as on the snes. What's your excuse? People just want to bag out remakes because they feel that they're better that other generations. Bunch of idiots.

Super mario world gba is an excellent remake.

  • @MrSuperleobros The Super Mario World music is beautiful and to listen to the botched GBA versions is an insult to the composers.

  • i did not even know about that six hundred coin thing in the gba version of super mario world that awesome i will definetely have to go back and do that and what happens after you collect all of the princesss coins i guess nothing right

  • I grew up with the GBA version since I'm a bit younger. That was the bomb back in the day. Just GBA 24/7. I loved it!

  • GBA version needs a level editor :(

  • is there any frame rate issues on the gba version or are both smooth?

  • I suppose they will add GBA to 3DS virtual Console and give us the INFERIOR GBA versions of SNES games with bad color and scratchy sound. Nintendo love's to shit on handheld gamers when it comes to home console translations.

  • It's cool how the intro for the GBA verison tells the intro story from the SMW booklet.

  • @PrettyPatDog in the start of the gost house use a cape to the top of the sealing and go to the right and keep going

  • could u please tell me how 2 get to that level from 4:31-4:40?

  • They need a port of Super Mario Allstars + World on NDS.

  • the graphics in the gba version remind me of charlie brown comics. which makes it totally AWWWWEEESOME!

  • I really laughed at Mario's reaction in the GBA Bonus round. I guess Mario was more positive in the SNES days

  • I love this game! I grew up playing both games on the SNES and GBA. I honestly prefer the GBA, because of the portability.

Although, the GBA wasn't quite developed for the game. The color palettes were too dull and sounds were slightly off.

  • I noticed in the video how much easier the gba version is:1) when you pass through the checkpoint tape, it counts as a freaking mushroom, 2) when you get hit with the cape or flower, you just go down to Super Mario not small Mario. Not fair but at least they added voice to the characters.

  • I wonder where they got all those mario-head shells.

  • I like how they added voices to Mario in the GBA game.

Makes me wish they would update the SNES Virtual Console version to that but eh whatever.

  • this is probably redundant to say, but in the snes version, after u beat the last level (funky) in the special roads and u dont use the warp star, will the scenery not change? cuz i was planning to have 2 save files, one with the autumn scenery and the other one with the scenery kept the same.

  • Wow. You pointed out more differences than I did....

  • Did you use a TAS to show the SNES version? If not, then that's some fuckin' EPIC cape skills ya got there.

  • I hate how the GBA version is made easier than the SNES, apart from that, the changes are okay (although the sound and graphic quality isn't as good on the GBA, but that could be because of the GBA systems limitations)

  • GET THIS THIS ON THE GBA AND YOULL SEE THIS. OH COOL MY EAR DRUMBS EXPLODING

  • I THINK THE GRAPHICS ARE BETTER ON THE GBA

  • WHAT THE HECK IS THAT THING AT THE END OF THE INTRO

  • Also, some of the levels had gradient shadings in the backgrounds.

  • i personally like the snes version

  • wow...! winning in roulette is so easy now with the best tips of the game....check out Roulette Secret today guys...1

  • Thanks for the video; it is very informative. However, I'd like to add a few more:

    1. In the original SNES version, there's a glitch that allows the player to get 9,999,999 points by jumping on many Wigglers in succession. I believe this has been fixed.

    2. It was not possible for Yoshi to eat the bonus game 1-ups in the original version.

By the way, are any of those demos tool-assisted? Some of those cape tricks (e.g., flying below the screen) look very hard to do in real-time.

  • I just wanna point out somthing. If you beat Bowser on one Save File in the GBA version, the itro is differnt.

  • @TheEvilpies well the snes and the gba looks pretty much the same but the music and the sound effect on the snes is better.and some of the graphics

  • i dont like the lighter palette in the gba version

  • Could you possibly do a video that compares the NES, SNES and GBA versions of Super Mario Bros. 3?

  • SNES >>>>>>>>>>>>>> GBA...

  • @rangersoul5

Super Mario World on the GBA has a good amount of notable differences.

    "I Really didn't notice anything".

Sounds like you haven't played the game a lot if you haven't noticed anything (hello Luigi & Hit point system) and no I don't do Pirated versions.

  • @Greenalink

Yes, but it's supposed to be the same game.

Also, i played the game when i was four years old on the SNES. Got it back when i was around 7 years old, some noobs stole it. Then i got it back at like 11 years old.

    So, yeah..

I'm just saying that this video seems more like a rant then a difference video.

    Hence the comments.

  • @rangersoul5

A rant? Nah, I'm just showing that the SNES version and GBA are not 100% exactly the same. If it was a rant, I would add my voice and bitch about the changes ;) .

  • @rangersoul5 talk about a rant-WHOOOOOO here is bitching about 'noobs' stealing their game? Go ahead, exhale slooooowwwwly and count to 10, or you might give yourself a stroke >.<

  • @rangersoul5 Luigi jumping like someone with Downs' Syndrome? Going to mushroom Mario after getting hit is cheap.

  • @rangersoul5 the only diffrense i find is the SNES controllers suck dick and the handheld is so much easyer but ya i luve this game it was like my 3rd game ive ever owned the gameboy andvaned was my first gamiing devince sceince i got into video games at the handheld era

  • @rangersoul5 Yeah but the GBA is 32bit and the snes is 16

  • @rangersoul5 I am sorry I enjoy this game yet compared to the other 3 SMA games this got the fewest upgrades to the gameplay. The scenery change for all exits compared to the special world was a dumb change. Atleast the other 3 added some new enemies/level/challenges. However SMA4 is imcompleted

  • Don't forget the obvious: Luigi is playable to make up for lack of 2-player; voice acting; poor audio; etc.

  • hey da real luigi and if u jump off yoshi at da goal on gba u cn get back on hym if he iz not 2 far

  • GBA ITSELF IS AWSOME

  • imo the snes is better

it has better graphics (the colors) and the sound is better and its a bit more challenging

  • don't forget to mension that the music sucks on gba compared to snes

  • SMA2 Luigi >>> SMAS+W Luigi

  • I think the SNES version loooks much better actually.

  • I loved this port. You guys must be crazy. It is amazing that we can have smw on a portable system.

  • Wow, I like the GBA port the best imo

  • I prefer Both, as they are the same game with small meaningless differences that seperate them.

    Also,

    @pswiiyoshi3

Wait a couple years, we'll get an editor

    @Nicksolo85

It's video quality sound that you hear, on the GBA, the sound is identical to the SNES version.

  • snes version better u can hack it with luna magic make your own levels insert custom music sprites and graphics from other games

  • but in the other version you can play anywhere!

  • @pswiiyoshi3

    ..so?

  • the gba version looks like bull shit

  • snes graphics with Gba gameplay = nice xD

  • about the yoshi eatin u where little when being on SNES yoshi

  • it's for me the best Super Mario game ever made :D

  • As far as SNES to GBA games go, I prefer the SNES versions for the following reasons....

*SNES has better sound effect and music quality (just in my opinion).

*SNES ports are the original releases (except in the cases of Super Mario Bros 2 + Super Mario Bros 3).

As far as NES to GBA games go, I don't really see much of a difference in music, sounds or game play.

  • is not bad the gba version but seriusly is a 32-bit console? yeah the dificult is the principal change the saves in the castle and the boo mansion well the dificulte is not the most horrible point good comparacion 5/5

  • i have the SNES version and i didnt know there was one on gba but anyway u gotta love the originals :D

  • eww.. the colors look washed out on the gba

  • i think the gba version look better but the character look more duller

  • The Fall themed Goombas in GBA version look like ganster goombas

  • I got the snes

  • Comment removed

  • I would have enjoyed it if you could follow it. The annotations went across so quickly I couldn't read them fast enough and I'm a fast reader.

Also difficult to follow the action since the words appeared all over the place, should have taken more time to get it right.

  • There is a pause button ;).

But this video was made months before the Annotations feature first started on Youtube

  • This makes the GBA version look like shit

  • in snes yoshi's hands and arms are orange

  • The audio is higher pitched and the color pallette is utterly Horrible on GBA. The washed out colors are an eyesore

  • this is by far the worst port of any game from and to any system

  • na, Sonic 1 Genesis on the GBA is by far the worst.

  • @Greenalink ooooooo i forgot about that, crappy physics like no ones business!

  • This port wasn't bad it was still playable. Sonic on the other hand was just a mess. Nothing was right with that one.

  • Are you serious? This is the greatest game ever made and it retains that status on the gameboy.

  • what about dragon coins? some aren't there in snes version i think.

  • any1 know what level is on 2:47?

  • tublure on special

  • Thank you for this! I wanted to know this since forever.

  • Oh, and I don't like the changes at all. Especially the sound effects.

  • I hate how you can't turn around while flying in GBA version! You can in SNES because you have two run buttons, you can also hold something while shooting a trampoline!

  • you made a mistake on the yoshi colors. It goes like this:

Fiery Mario will always get a Red Yoshi

Cape Mario will always get a blue Yoshi

    &

Big Mario and little Mario will get one randomly; Red Green Blue or Yellow. Just tryin' to clear things up

  • se llama new super mario bros ds

    espero que te ayude

  • nice :D got to watch the other parts.

  • Actually, for the fall theme you only have to beat Funky. The game checks to see if you've passed a certain level, which is Funky by default. The Star Road does nothing, it's just a shortcut. Using the other Star Road does exactly the same thing, and you'll see the changes in the levels too. The Castle 4 checkpoint and altered Pokey graphics are impossible to do in the SNES version due to technical limitations, but the edited Goomba is easily done.

  • wow. theres a lot of stuff I didn't notice :D

    Excellent work!

  • are all these changes good or bad

  • The smoke out of yoshis house is also different :P on the overworld

  • gba version looks cool but u can never beat originals

  • I agree, and plus it didn't have Charles Martinet's voice for Mario.

  • Maybe it's just me, but I don't like that you can get the different colored Yoshis outside the Star World. It alway felt like someting special going there, to get the special Yoshis.

  • but you don't have to go far and you get a power up with it

  • btw, gba version is better than smas and snes version 5/5

  • In the SNES version there are no green or red koopas after finishing special world, they to blue and yellow, and in SNES version, when you hit a net gate it turns left, while in GBA it turns right, and the special world dosn't have the SNES buttons in the GBA

  • How do I get to speala world

  • I have the GBA version and the SNES version and it took me a couple months to beat it. The SNES version, however, took two-three days.

  • ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? You hate the GBA port because it has an orange Bowser?? That's his original color! And for those who like the SNES version better, I don't blame you. But of course the new one will have changes. Um, ADVANCED, hello?

  • blue yoshis are the best cuz when u eat a koopa u can fly

  • wow i had the GBA version and the SNES version! i never noticed the differences, (besides when mario gets something like a 1up he says LUCKY!)

  • I got the GBA version 2 days b4 my snes died, I bought a new snes tho

  • HUH. were you being sarcastic? The SNES version came out in 1991. I was a little kid back then when I played it.

  • Nice. I never played the GBA version. basically they just made it easier and added stupid voices and some sounds.

  • lol at 1:07, mario DOESNT see the army of badguys coming at peach? moron...lol

this is a good game though, loved it

  • They werent coming, even the koopas turned around...you can see that clearly

  • i dont know if you were trying to be mean or if you have no sense of humor, but the koopa's turned around because the back two ran into the second, and the bullet bills aimed at her, along with the banzai bill, i think that i knew what i was talking about...

  • The koopa's are walking at te same speed, so running into each other is impossible: they turned around

Banzai bills only explode, they can't grab anything. Since there were no signs of an explosion *and the fact that the princess is oke* they weren't going for the princess.

I wasn't trying to be mean and i do have sense of humor, your joke was just plain awful

  • um NO! look at the second and third koopa, the second is closer to the third than the first, meaning they wearnt going the same speed, since THE BACK TWO TURNED AROUND!!!!

however i guess i have no choice but to agree with your Bullet bill statement,

i never said that you have no sence of humor, now youre trying to be mean, and what if i wasnt gonna try to make anyone laugh..

  • whoops, RNWofCcG is my brother:

um NO! look at the second and third koopa, the second is closer to the third than the first, meaning they wearnt going the same speed, since THE BACK TWO TURNED AROUND!!!!

however i guess i have no choice but to agree with your Bullet bill statement,

i never said that you have no sence of humor, now youre trying to be mean, and what if i wasnt gonna try to make anyone laugh..

  • snes best no way gba can beat.

  • the gba port doesn't reach the modern standards like the original.

  • I like the SNES version better :P i played this and want it so bad since this is one of my favorite games ever, and i played it all the time as a kid.

  • 4:51 WTF? you are great with the cape O_O amazing

  • Thanx 4 the awesome help! I'll try to defeat it now! =)

  • noooooooooooooooooo i have the gba version and i only have 95 and i dont know what im missing!!!!! any1 please send me a pic of each screen 100% completed

  • it's because you have completed 95 levels. there are only 95 levels.

  • Actually New Super Mario Bros pwns..

  • also, the sound sucks on the gba cause of the voices!

  • Balloon Mario. SNES:

    2:42

    Balloon Mario. GBA:

    2:59

  • Amazing Flying Hammer Bro. SNES:
