I am a Police Officer in Texas, and I will say this video was very informative. I agree 110% with everyone, everyone who is not a Felon, should be armed and carry 100% of the time. I have stopped many people carrying in their vehicle or on their person; I personally have no problem with them carrying. I carried prior to getting into law enforcement, so I understand the problems with a small number of misinformed Officers, and "bad" officers that abuse their power.
@jnloredo This comment is great. Cops like you need to speak out like this about these topics. This way citizens won't have such a bad judgement about these topics.
@jnloredoI I wish I lived in a state like yours. I do not have the backing of my state laws that allows open or conceal carry. It seems that many officers are misinformed or uninformed on this issue. Wish the academy would stress that & to continue their learning over their life. I suspect that many academies do not train on these laws. (Politics ?) Thanks 4 being a professional officer, always looking for more knowledge and please continue to uphold our Constitution.
I used to work with a department where the Chief said he would never disarm any citizen during an emergency or nonemergency; he even went as far to say he would use his position to make sure no one else would try to disarm the public. Now understand I do not agree with violent criminals having a firearm, but the average citizen should be armed at all times. I say all of this because I think it should be known that there are Police Officers that do understand and are not out to get everyone.
