This is so awesome! The buildings look like puzzle pieces that could fit together and that one building looks like a periscope. I wonder if that was the inspiration. I also love the bridge and would love to walk across it!
like it alot. but even though it is sketchup the hard stops are so screwing up this viz. I would just have exported it many more frames a second and imported it in after effects to do some serieus time-remapping. Then the animation would be smooth and you will not get disoriented/irritated this fast.
haha yeah i know.... i fully agree..! BUT its not bad for year 2 students to redesign almost a whole area of Leeds - and then fully build it up in Sketchup..!
lol.. i think so! because sketchup is very easy to use! i personally hate it to bits..lol. If you get a grips of it then you'll understand the basics of other 3D programs.
it is sketchup. easy to use and very simple/sketchy looking. check out my turkish bath video, thats Cinema 4D - a lot more realistic and better overall.
nice presentation, but if you're at the LEEDS school, aren't you taking into account environmental standards? how much enrgy does it take to move all that water on the buildings? where are the concepts of new urbanism? why is it so car oriented? it reminds me of Le Corbusier... we've come a long way since then!
thanks for your comment on my litle ad, i put mine together in Afer Effects
this is a little choppy, i understand what you're doing with the stops to the beat, but they are way to sudden, try ramping your camera animation so it slows down more gradually
damn, that is done on sketchup. Crazy crazy, i heard you can build a city if you want to but now i see this, it is possible but needs a lot of work, a lot.

although the design is nearly perfect, i can't say the same thing for the visualisation. But good work.

just Design not engineering ?

correct.... it wasnt an engineering project, it was Urban Design...!

try it in max or maya next time, it def helps with the animation, sketch up is too 'unpersonable', nice project though

Program is called - Sketchup 6 - You can download it from google. Made for building sketchs but can be used for games like IMVU.

This is why architects shouldn't be allowed to do urban design. Calling all landscape architects!

Just a tip: next time don't use 3D persons. 2D silhouettes are much more efficient and don't up the polygon count (sorry about my english)

Looks like digital brutalism!!!!
fib112358 5 years ago
hah... i agree... the brutalist effect is thanks to sketchup, and my mate who did most of the video.. its not bad tho, architecturally speaking!
