  • Ever since I changed the tubes to JJS and added a Jensen Mod speaker and did the bias setting the way you showed here,Im super happy with this amp now and want to say Thank you very much for taking the time to show people this stuf!!

  • Does it matter if the power switch on the back is set on low watts or higher 16?

  • @Frontierblues

Yes, set it to 16 watt position.

  • @hasserl Thank you!!

  • is this the same procedure for a vintage 50? I looked up on Carvin website and their procedure is much shorter and had me trying (unsuccessfully) to read mA across the standby witch while in standby. It says it should be 75mA but I get ZERO when I follow their procedure.

  • @rkc5150

Well, not exactly, but similar I suppose. With the VT50 you do measure the bias current across the standby switch. Maybe I should do a video for that, but I believe Eurotubes may have one on their website, check it out.

  • @hasserl thanks! I think I found what I need on your website. I am new to Carvin amps. I have the Belair so if I called it the wrong name (Vintage 50), apologies. I am hoping all this work will pay off with some sweet sounds! Thanks again!

  • Thank you very much, I needed this info.
