  • This is pretty much awesome. Love the theme song.

  • show has definite potential. If the budget was behind it, I would prolly watch this. Reminds me of an old show from the 90's, Mutant League

  • @superboi Hey, thanks a lot! I really hope I can start pushing more IKFZ content out soon. There's stuff in the works, so stay tuned! More soon!

  • It would be awesome if you got good enough to continue in the metalocalypse episodes. it somewhat resembles their animation except for the characters themselves. good job, 5*'s!!

  • well done!

however if i could offer some contructive critisicism, work on the animation just a little bit

you dont have to, since it's awesome already

  • @thelogicalperspectiv Hey thanks!!! This was our first ever real attempt at animating using Photoshop and After Effects primarily, so I am sure it will only get better! We're currently looking into further software/ tools to help us get stuff down faster (instead of manually keyframing EVERYTHING!), and we're definitely going to create more IKFZ content. Stay tuned!

  • awesome ^^

    love the theme song too

  • That was hilarious, would have likes to hear the zombies talk but hey after I realized only 2 people made I understood why.

  • Hey Gana, thanks for the feedback! Yes, it was VERY hard work! Glad you like the chars!

I have been rustling a few more people in to do voice acting, so likely when I get the animated web comic rolling along, there will be an actual continuing story, voices, etc (this spoof/homage was kind of done as a test, and a bit of a gag as well - but there is a real story to tell, and a more seriously toned IKFZ on the way) - and some other goofy shorts like this one from time to time. :)

    Thanks again!

  • I can only imagine how much work it took out of you. I would love to follow the characters. Are there any other pictures/videos of them?

  • Yup! There's more stuff coming soon, including tshirts and that sort of thing. :)

    Thanks!

  • Heya bro, just wanted to again say, what a great job you did with this. I know what ya went through and I am seriously impressed. Looking forward to seeing what else the brain spawns :)

5 stars from your boy TA! :)

  • hey! Thanks, man!

Yeah, i hope we can put more of these together... more than likely it will end up being as a simpler animated webcomic, mostly because of how much time & work would be required to make it even this level of animation with such a small team of two people!

    I appreciate it, dude, really!

  • lol, nice "kung fu zombies"

all they did was tumble out of their space pod! hilarious!

  • Heh, glad you got a kick out of it!

    and shhhhh... spoiler!

  • Part of me says "Okay, that was worth 9 minuets, 21 seconds I spent watching this" and part of me says (Even though I didn't pay to watch) "...I want my money back"

  • ha ha, yeah, that's kind of the joke. Those old cartoons would always have the craziest intros (think Thundercats or similar), and the actual animating in the episodes were often minimal or cheesy, and didn't deliver the goods the intro promised.

No worries though, I'll be doing a 'serious' take soon, one way or another on these characters. :)

  • Still a good start all and all.

  • Man, it's true as hell. For example the beetlejuice intros were amazing as all hell but the show was plodding and had really awful animation.

Weirdly though I just watched some real ghostbusters episodes and while the animation was inconsistant and the shows had some of the trappings of children's programming contrivances from that era, the writing was..surprisingly really really really good, and held up very well today.

Surprise surprise, turns out J Michael Straczynski wrote for that show!

  • I loved watching Ghostbusters... even the cheesier episodes like the one where Slimer multiplies, and then combines into a humongous Slimer, or the one with Stay Pufft vs Murray the Mantis, the one where Egon gets posessed ("FREE TO DESTROY!"), the subway train to the netherworld, & probably my favourite, the zombie chicken and the undead farmers episode... so much good stuff!

    and JMS? really? Dayum!

  • wow... I was all .___. until the ending. Then I laughed... that was great how they just stumbled around and somehow blew everything up. XD Good times

  • Ha haaa... it's really interesting to see the various responses to this thing.

Hopefully you like the more 'serious' take on IKFZ that will be coming out later on, too!

  • Cloak and grey awesome!!!! As expected keep it up guys an I missed u two for the last 2 months :-) can't wait to Catch up!! Talk to ya soon

  • Thanks Albi!

And where you be at??? You've up & disappeared!

No borderlands for you yet? Dude!

  • i cant belive u got sdrew to make u a song!!!!

  • Well duh, they paid him. He takes paid requests :P

  • The end was HILLARIOUS.

It looked so high tech, but in the end nothing really happned xD

I guess thats where the author got lazy.

    Props guy's 5/5 fave.

  • LOL honestly, i would love to see this on adult swim late at night... keep it up man this shit is awesome!!

  • Now... the animation was decent. Not super great, but there's only two of you, whaddayaexpect.

The robot's voice was a bit hard to understand, you could probably turn the modulation down a notch.

The build-up was fun simply BECAUSE it dragged out ridiculously and built up to nothing.

I feel like you wasted some joke opportunities, though. E.g. I thought the pod might actually turn out to just be a bomb. Also, the base explosion was anticlamactic, but was that the point?

    NO ZOMBIE LINES. :(

  • Hey littlebeasti! Thanks for the awesome and thorough feedback! Yes, it is only two of us. And basically me doing all the artwork assets, etc, with Grey doing character rigging etc. I'll see what I can do about the bot voices, maybe even a subtitle. And yeah, you got it! It kinda was the point, in those cartoons the good guys always won no matter what! point A, point B, the end. :) And no worries about the zombies not having lines, there's going to be a story side to this nuttyness too. ;) THNX!

  • Intro was good, ive never been a fan of these style animated shows, but this was different, kept me interested. good work on the art and animation! 5 stars and favorited.

  • Thanks a lot, LH! Appreciate the support, and that's really awesome to hear from someone that's not very into these types of things. Hopefully the serious-ish side of the IKFZ will entertain you just as much (in a different way of course).

  • this is great stuff, man! good work on animation and effects. as was already mentioned, storytelling needs polishing. more dynamism and less long, slow scenes. and more zombies ofcourse :) this has very good pontential for a series. have you tried submitting this to Adult Swim? right up their alley.

  • Thanks, SSR123. And I appreciate the feedback! I'll definitely look into the Adult Swim thing, I had no idea they took submissions openly. Also, yeah, I think what we're going to do is, we'll do a full on 'serious w/ story' episode (or animated webcomic), and include a spoof/ self-satire short (like this one) alongside each one. So 2/3d's action and story, 1/3rd just spoofy lampoony nonsense. :)

    Thanks again!

  • It was alright.

Quick word of advice: Your storytelling skills need some work. There were literally like 20 seconds at a time where NOTHING happened. Like the pod flying down. what? just have it fall, crash into the planet and replace all of that free time with zombies kicking butt. there was only about a minute of that and I was disappointed.

  • hey blackxrosesxforever - thanks for the feedback. Yeah, that's been a mixed bag response wise. Some folks like the build up, some don't. No worries though, there IS a story to be told, & action sequences to be delivered in future with this characters. :) This particular one shot was done more as a spoof in general - we're figuring out if we want to do further content as either a webcomic, or even an animated webcomic, considering how much work would be involved in doing this with just 2 of us!

  • Also, it would just be me doing all the artwork and art assets. But in an animated web comic format it might be much more manageable, and we might be able to produce more with more frequency!

Thanks again for the feedback. It's very encouraging, man!

  • Good job on the 3-D and 2-D animation

    and

awsome work getting Andrew to make your theme song

that guy is awsome and you are too

  • lol did the robot say

    "Dr.octagonapus" at 4:36

Good job on the 3-D and 2-D animation

and awsome work getting Andrew to make your theme song.

  • lol, no but I can see how it can be heard that way, heh. Like one of those death metal translation videos.

Thanks, man. And yeah, I think Andrew did a fantastic job.

  • OMG! That was awesome! Great job, TDC!

  • Hilarious. Adult Swim, check these guys out.

    Oh, and favorited.

  • Thanks, BlueMaxx86!!!

  • Im on your XBL Friends list, saw the message, and I checked the video, its really funny, good job.

  • Hey, Thanks, man! It's a minor miracle Grey & I didn't end up killing each other through this whole process. :P

  • GREAT!!

  • Thanks a lot! Pass it on!

  • 80s Throwback! excellent job on the intro especially with the song and all! Well done you guys. you did this all in after effects?

  • Yup yup! All the animation in After Effects, but I did all the art assets (character pieces, backgrounds, etc) in Photoshop (some of them from sketches scanned in, and digitally inked or painted), save for the couple of 3d models used (the Coffin-1 and the URN Pod). The 2 1/2D backgrounds were also done in AE (like the Fortress interior, planet shots, etc).

Thanks!!! Pass it on! We're figuring out what & how we'll keep doing more IKFZ. :)

  • you sir deserve a ROFLCOPTER for this masterful work of art!

  • Thanks, noshadowmaster!

I'll have to figure out how to go about putting in an exploding a ROFLCOPTER at some point. ;)

  • I actually liked the big build up for this supposedly epic fight for it then to turn into them falling down the stairs and accidentally winning makes it a good little end. After all how else would you expect to actually fight. Well thought out will be keeping an eye out.

  • Thanks, SDE! Glad you appreciated the spoof/ lampoon in this! I do have more 'serious' stories to tell with them, but we'll be mixing up spoof with serious in the time to come. :D

  • This is awesome.

  • Thank you, Stonefyr!

  • same as pebbles, saw the link on STWPT and checked it out. gotta say.... it seriously reminded me of stuff you see on adult swim now. not saying whether that's a good or bad thing... it's just a thing.

  • at least it's a thing! ;)

Thanks for checking it out, sakaylor!

  • no problem! i honestly enjoyed it (realized i hadn't said that in my last comment :-P) keep up the good work

  • Saw the link on STWPT and I had to check it out. Epic art! XD interesting ending there

  • Gripping isn't it? ;)

    Thanks and pass it on!

  • I must say, that although I adore Andrew's stuff, I don't think it really fits your animation style (which is amazing, but the song doesn't seem as edgy as your comic/Starcraftesque colour choices). I do look forward to the next episode tho~ :)

  • Hey Sparkly, really? I'm curious to hear more on your take. Edgy? I hope that's a good thing!

We are too... with much much terror and discord. (this was TOUGH!)

  • Here cus of Andrew i must admit. I heard the theme when he first posted and i was epic excited to see this. Mr. Sal, looks like you put in a lot of work and kudos, but i was wonder how you can make this??? Like are you funded or is this kinda spare time sorta thing.

Anyways i half felt that it was a little long and that it could use some finer editing, just a second or two some places.

Anyways decent first ep. looking forward to see where this goes.

  • Thanks AVDFTW!

Andrew did a phenomenal job. We really wanted the intro to be over the top, because especially with those old cartoons, the intros would always have some KILLER animation, epic scenes, & eye candy, many times the episode would start and the quality would drop by like half!!!

  • Ran out of space, heh!

As for being funded, no this was very much a pet personal project, it was VERY tough on the two of us. With a deadline hanging over our heads, having to learn all this from scratch (AE), the rest of the scoring etc, - all within 3-4 months. Very challenging, very addicting, but a little stubborness goes a LONG way!

    Spare time: lol!

Thanks for checking it out, and for the feedback too! Will see about tightening it up, but will def help for whatever comes next!

  • All I can say is WOW!!! Very cool. I am zen from nightwatchers forum. No wonder you have a callus!

  • wow, i can't believe how good it looks graphic and music wise. but still sucks so hard :s

    i'm disapointed actually :)

there could have been a story, or even a real combat in this. the characters move so clumsy and speak really awkward.

and what the fuck? the heroes fall from the stairs shoot 10 bullets in the air and the castle explodes?

    looks 10/10

    feels 0/10

  • Heh! Sorry you feel that way, Vincent/ Favio. There is actually a story and complete character development in the works (if you look at the youtube sidebar you'll see a sliver of that), however this particular 'episode' is more of a spoof/ homage more than anything else, so it's meant to be goofy and humourous. :)

But thanks for the feedback! The good stuff like what you're talking about is yet to come! It's all planned out and in the works.

Thanks for checking it out and the honest response.

  • OMG this is AWESOME! lol Great job!! I'll have to come over and jam this winter! Who KNOWS what we could come up with :P

  • Yes. You MUST!

My fingers are still itching to do more music tracks!

I'm really glad you liked it. Now you know what's kept us living in a freaking cave for the last 4 months. :D

  • It's a real shame stuff like this doesn't get the attention it deserves, so I hope you garner more popularity soon.

And loving Andrew's theme of course, but that was to be expected.

  • Thank you very much, Toadsanime!

Well, hey it's out there now doing it's thing!

I just want it to have fun as it romps around and I hope it tickles people's nostalgia, too!

    Andrews IKFZ theme ROCKS.

  • Thanks for checking it out, everybody!

I'm sure there will be more where this monstrosity came from.

We have a few things planned out, but for the moment - enjoy the cartoon!

  • Not sure if my comment was posted, but again awesome stuff. Looking forward to more episodes.

  • youtube noob :P

  • Lanna this is kickass! Keep up the good work. Hope to see more of this from you.

  • Oh my heck! How cool!

  • "I've got blisters on me fingers!"

Hope everyone enjoys it :) LOVE THE HECK out of the the theme song, and that leech is hella sexy ;)

  • Did you make this knowing what I wanted Lanna?

  • Everyone with any class has deep and secret dreams of martial art's space zombies & stuff exploding ;)

  • It is like it was made for me.
