  • e la ritorno ad ascoltare non mi basta mai

  • come non quotarti C:

  • i love iittt. :)

can anyone tell me why some of the band's songs are banned like in Britain?

  • maybe because they're smoking weed in this video

    dont know

  • manics are one of my favourite bands but i realy do think their videos are just plain shit. i like a band to make the effort eg. radiohead

  • Damn... I really love Radiohead, it must be now my favorite band, and a friend sended me the link to this video, the first comment I read names Radiohead...

    And this song is great.

  • Hello rasists! Where are those african-britts, that we can see on the directors cut? Shame on you James! I love the song ennihuu, no matter how fucking bastard bulliboys you are.

  • suona dolcezza

  • wow..very great2 song..

  • I like the vid, end of

  • It is cool!

  • I am quite disappointed with both the song and the video. The song is just a simple pop song like so many other bands perform and the video is probably the least inspired thing ever released by the Manics (although, I know, they had no input on it). They could have made so much more out of that "Sweet Child o' Mine"-riff!

  • Oi fuck off this is a tune it's my fav post Edwards era

  • with you on about geizer! this is a great mother fucking tune dog!

    shut you bombo clad!

  • did any body else notice all the teens in this video are Emos? well the girls and the boys in this video are hot

  • I LOVE the Nicky-Wire-jump at 2:38

  • What have you done to your hair?!!!!!

  • She probably was all messed up :D

  • i like it:D:D

  • the futures bright the future is here

  • The riff and melody are cool. Lyrics are pretty meh.

  • all the comments about the vid and so on being great. manics had no input on it, the production company made it to be more appealing than the two, well hookers, standing there singing it.

  • Young people, make the most of your youth,it passes by like lightening,it only seems a couple of years ago i was playing guitar in the garage, now im nearly 50.

Pack as much as you can in,and do exactly what you want. You have the world at your feet,go and get it.

  • "Remember that the best times are yet to come."

Of course, I may merely be disagreeing with you because of my youth, but I find that the farther I get from my youth the more I enjoy life in general.

Hey, just because you're nearly 50 doesn't mean you can't play a guitar in a garage.

  • im 20 i want to learn to play guitar and make a living off it should i go for

  • sigh...so depressing when you think about it

  • i couldnt agree more. im 27 and so im either young myself or old depending how old you who are reading this is?/are? just f**ing enjoy yourself! life gets quicker and quicker the older you get, no regrets, do it now! lifes short get on with it, in the words of mr henry rollins dont think about it: DO IT!

  • "Dont wait for your ship to come in,swim out and meet the bloody thing"

Statement by the late great Barry Sheene, when first diagnosed with the cancer that eventually killed him.

Just about says it all really.

  • @garfield2279 you are totally right

  • Great song! But video kinda sucks.

  • this realy shows people what modern teenagers are like and what stuff we go through.

    good song and good video.

    :]

  • Now Baby what... have you done to your hair.

    amazing songs...

  • yeah. good song with cool video

  • parents suck XD

  • its good song

  • this song is damn good!

  • It Gives You Hope In The Darkest Times That You Know Nothing Anymore..

  • So when you hear this autumn song

Remember the best times are yet to come

  • Hey, the song is great! I think it's the video that lets it down :/

  • fuck the video... A Video Has Nothin On A Song

  • i thought it was rather emotional myself!

  • same i find theres a sertain sadness about this song

  • i love this song so much

it reminds me of my auntie

great band and they are awesome live

if you ever have the chance to see them,, do it :)

  • manics are the best band in the world ever

  • A cheerful mixture of The Beatles and Queen, and a little bit of Sweet also. Who said that James hasn't sense of humour?

  • Video is awfully cliche'd. Rather cheesy as well.

  • i think its rele gd prints a picture of modern teenagers who r into rock music

  • They smoke weed and drink 3 litres of cider..... Pretty lame if you ask me!

  • I always got the feeling from the song that it's not really about "modern" teenagers. Well, not in the sense of being only about them. I always got the sense that it's about the repetetive patterns of every generation- those feelings and acts of rebellion that soften with memory as we age into the time we most fondly remember of our whole lives.

  • Very true. However I find rebellion tiresome and I did when I was 16. I guess that makes me a geek.

  • no one is a geek it just means you dont feed in to shit respect

  • Not necessarily, there are plenty of rebellious geeks.

But I sense that you meant you never felt the need to rebel for the pure sake of rebellion. Which I would say is rational.

  • A mature and valid point. Chocolate oranges are in the post.

  • I like the song and the video.I'm talking about the sad truth of life.

  • bit harsh dont u think . every band has their bad songs . anyway this song isnt that bad

  • At 1:33 the correct words must be:"remember the WORST times are yet to come".

  • better than rap lol but We believe in rock \m/ n this song completly fucked n pure shyt ! dude More effort !!!

  • yup i can hear queen in the back xD

whats up with all this eighties retro fashion??

  • does anyone know the name of the song which has a sound just a little bit like the wee guitar riff in this? its a sort of dance/alternative song. I'm not too sure!

  • this video sucks ass- its a good thing the music rocks

  • not saying it's positive or negative.. personally I don't like Robbie, but this is kind of cool.. But I really think it sounds like Robbie in some moments of the song :)

  • Great song.

  • Great song and melody.

  • MSP is still here!!

  • If only they would hurry up and release a new album!

  • Makes my happy, no matter what mood I'm in.

It gives you this "fuck everybody else"- feeling, and I love it :D

  • MANICS 4 EVER

  • My favourite Manics song, just brilliant

  • These guys are still rocking...big time!!Love this song!

  • this song is so welsh, i can hear blackwood in every note, love it.

  • the whole album is great.... I had it playing in my car whilst driving around back in June :) ......

  • "Born to destroy and born to create" Thats just like me. I love the song :D

  • I LOVE this song!!!

  • This reminds me of" the day".at the teen center circa: 80's athens

  • i like too :from despair to where

    this is good music

  • Re: youth - some words that I wish I could say were mine:

"The tragedy of old age is not that one is old, but that one is young".

Also: "The question of the old is 'Why?'; the question of the young is 'Why not?'".

Some of my favourite quotes regarding youth there.

See also When You're Young by The Jam for the most spot-on lyric ever written :)

  • Aaah now you talking,The Jam, now Weller was and still is a great social commentator my friend......

  • "The question of the old is 'Why?'; the question of the young is 'Why not?'"

    who's quote is this?

  • dunno who. i tried searching for it. but it's a damn good one if you ask me

  • grrr, thick youtube won't post my comments.

i read it in 1985 by anthony burgess, and he might have been quoting someone else but i'm not sure because it's a while since i read it and i don't have a copy. i think it's more or less the exact quote though, because i remember really liking it. it was part of his musings on the nature of anarchy.

  • John F. Kennedy once said it... But I don't know was he quoting someone or was it one of his own.

  • This song is telling you that one day you'll look back and laugh that you were such a twat. Though at the time you were ready to kill for your views. There will come a day when you'll look back and go "Ahhhhhh what the fuck was i on!" It's about having a youthfull, naieve sense of being.

  • what i ve done to my hair

i loose them ,and i still love

    girls

    music

    life

    i agree it strange

your body get old, your mind, your soul stay young and better

don t hurry you ll see

  • the best is yetto come

message of hope for the future

    a song full of joy

your mind don t understand ,don t fear this is normal,it can t understand all

feelings are as a foreign land for it

  • I'm not sure any manics fan could ever relate fully to this video. The manics have never really conformed to any music genre/scene, they have always opposed the current trends - they've never been fashionable, existing only to an outside (if that's possible). The song does however make me feel seventeen again - self assured, idealistic, invincible:)

  • well i am 17, and this song makes me feel weirdly old like i'm middle-aged person remembering what it is to be 17 (although right now i actually am all those things that you mentioned). and the video just makes me feel that whoever's idea this was needs their head sticking down a lavatory bowl pdq.

aside from the video, this song is pure class.

  • i'm not quite middle aged yet!lol :)

  • dont loose your times in infinit discuss

Enjoy the life ,enjoy the music

this is a great music made by a good band

i dont care the words ,close yous eyes ,just listen, this is the best way to enjoy the music

and clic:from nowhere to where .manic street preachers goods

don t preach in the desert ,nobody will listen

  • Reading.

    Saturday Night.

    In a sweaty tent.

    I am there.

    That is all.

  • It's that or the killers so its not really a choice!

  • The lyrics are bland and trite. I'm not denying that the tune is catchy, but the lyrics are terrible! In no way, like their old material.

  • I actually agree with you, and I'm a real veteran nutter for these guys! Definitely not like their old stuff, and the lyrics mean nothing at all to me. Not that they meant much to me before, but I always felt like they meant SOMETHING, even if I just didn't know what it was lol I think only Wire or Edwards ever truly knew.

But I think the tunes they bang out are still top quality, and most lyrics still are too. I like Rendition especially. And this is still superior to a lot of other stuff.

  • Bold comment but SATT is their best album Since THB, imho.

  • yeah I agree. They've had their moments in between - Everything Must Go was really good, as is If You Tolerate this and the other odd song or two, but they have very little of the Manics I fell in love with. SATT has more of that fury and subversion and careless, slightly perverse excellence that made me smile in the old days. Gutted that Nicky Wire doesn't want to write anymore.

And I would LOVE to be in that sweaty tent with you (no creepiness intended, I just REALLY hate that I can't go).

  • that's an absolutely rediculous statement. Everything Must Go is on a par with The Holy Bible, and This is my Truth is ten times better than their new album.

  • TIMTTMY is a damn good album (esp If You Tolerate This...), I just think that SATT is much better because it's much more raw and simple, and if you fell in love with the old Manics then it's better. It's so obvious you don't know why you didn't think of it, but it's still absolutely brilliant and original and blows me away unlike most of TIMTTMY.

As I think I've commented elsewhere, THB is the best, but as an album that doesn't make you want to dig a hole and die in it EMG is pretty good too.

  • the lyrics are just metaphorical.

  • not one of their best videos, we want to see the manics =] but a great song! x

  • Manics are a gr8, legedary band hu have been around for a while now!

there old stuff is just as good as there new stuff! which just shows they r a consitant (cant spell it but u now wot i meen) quality group. any body hu disagrees are entitled to the opinion but may want to listen a bit hard to the lyrics and gr8 vocals and then say ur opinon

  • they are NOT lame. why are you so judgemental.?put love in you r heart!! stop taking paxill.

  • Constructive. Imaginative. Intelligent. I bet you are well hard??

    M.

  • ...and how the fuck can people like you? you're entitled to your opinion and all, and i don't mind if you don't like them, but there's no need for the "lame" attempt at abuse. echo millsykafer.

anyway, in answer to your question, i can like these guys because i have a weakness for sex/glam/punk/metal/androgyny all rolled into one. ok?

and if balls are what it takes to be cool and tasteful like you, then you can keep them.

  • So, my dear NObrainwipequitarvox, what your doing here, go listen yor britney songs. youre as i see is a pathetic guy...ahrrrgh!

  • actualy i prefer arcade fire, modest mouse placebo ect.

    i just find them boring.
