Spray on bandages, etc. Kind of like the same thought process with those people that made dissolving stitches, or medical super glue. To make field patching faster and safer, to save lives.

They can use the spray for a portable bandage that they can use it on people that were injured in natural disasters. The bandage can be as large as you want it.
$12 is cheaper than a lot of regular shirts. Plus it's pretty cool and sciency (and Futurama-esque). It's super recyclable. You could give the material and make another shirt cheap for someone that fits just as well. I'd buy.

I would invent a shower that's just a normal shower, but the only difference is when water goes down the drain, it goes up a filter, so you can re-use the water, and not use gallons & gallons of it.

its washable...and i think it will be useful for medical issues. Its a clean covering and in emergencys, it can keep you a little bit more warm. How about you be less narrowminded and more open to the possibilitys that can come with the inventions

Maybe the spray on shirt is dumb. However, whether you like it or not, this so called "fabrican" can be used as band aid - like the scientist said - out there in the field, and potentially save lives. Sounds dumb? Everything begins with small things, but the potential becomes only realized, once it's no-longer a prototype. So you criticizing this invention you claim to be useless, may well be the next generation band aid.
I do agree that we should also focus on cancer and Aids, however, this..

We already have tons of scientists that are working on cancer and aids, not saying we should stop, but why focus only on Cancer and Aids? when we can focus on multiple fronts? was the invention of clothes a dumb idea? No... It has helped the Vikings survive up in the north, it has helped people become a bit more civilized, it has helped in so many ways... so you already saying that this item has no potential is awfully narrow minded.

Ok, Ok, I know this episode is one from last year, but as to answer the question you asked of what would we choose to invent if we could, I would do a self-integrated cell phone. Yeah, a cell phone implant to the brain similar to the one in an episode of Eureka. My only change to it is that it would be thought controlled so that you never actually have to speak while using it.
