Just bought a cbr1000rr myself about 2 weeks ago. Rediculously fast and also my first bike. I knew what i was getting into when i bought it. Total respect for the ludicrous amount of power it makes. Paid 11300 plus ttl and can outrun any car on the road. I rode a brand new harley with a way bigger motor a few months ago and three everything i had at it in the first 5 minutes. Call me a pussy but i have yet to hit full throttle on my blade after 2 weeks of riding. 95 in first gear alone :O

@anthony9014 cbr600 and R6 are pretty much the same bike mate :) just R6 is yamaha and cbr is honda. depends on what you prefer really.

130hp is a powerfull beast man but then again, nobody is forcing you to fly 150 mph from day 1.
if you do get the bike, be carefull though. dont get to confident to fast. ive had some scary moments myself :D

The Ducs are pretty and are great bikes but even if I had the cash I would not buy one for the simple reason that I prefer L4's over twins. And its not bikes that win races, its the rider who does. A bike is only a tool and is only as good as you are. I'll take a Fireblade, Ninja, Gsxr or Daytona any day before touching a Duc. I also don't like the sound of those goofy v twins or L twins for that matter. In line all the way baby! cheers and ride safe!

Honda is the best when it comes to quality and price, replacement parts are a lot cheaper, Yamaha is the best when it comes to performance and price, suzuki i have not owned so i dont know. Ducatti i have not owned, but i know for a fact its a chick magnet, also runs a lot on repairs, such as replacing the clutch every 5k and costs the most to purchase and insure

PROOF THAT THE CBR 1000 (HONDA) IS THE BEST... ok belive me my uncle was on his modified cbr 1000 and he ran a stop sign and than the cops saw him and he pushed the bike to its limit two police crusers vs a 1000 so he escaped from the cops doing 130mph JUST ON TURNS on straight he did almost 200 mph but this is why honda is the best in handiling,controll,speed its prety good in suspencion,and whatever else you can mencion!!!

HONDA has the most boring LOOKS compare to those 3 other JAPANESE Sportbikes. The best looks goes to YAMAHA. If only HONDA can make their bikes kick ass looking!
Reliability, cost of ownership, POWER, and Handling. Honda is know for how reliable their engines are and how easy they are to maintain. Every honda but the race dirtbikes (crf250r & 450r) which are made to race so obviously they need a lot of maintainence. These days, all you have to do is pick a brand and go with it and you will be getting quality equipment though. Honda will always stand out though. They may not have the fastest bike out there but they have there but they have the reliability
i agree i love honda bikes but not the new models at all i have a limited edition bran new 2007 repsol cbr 1000rr its fast as hell and nice its an original limited edition i only changed the rear and front blinker lights i didnt like the light stiking out like that now the are one with the body of the bike and they are led as well so they will never burn out.i love my bike
08-09 CBR1000RR looks ugly as hell they ruined it! i want a 1000RR more than any other bike, but when i can go get one ill be shopping used for sure 07 or under!

havent rode an R1 yet but a buddy has a 05 that is real sweet.i raced him on a back road and he could launch harder keepin the wheel down but i caught and passed him quick in 2nd gear then he held behind like 3 or 4 bike lengths up to 175 when we let off.lots of fun.lol

Not just the engine the CBR 1000 rr is much ligther then a GSX 1300 R or ZX 12 r but with an CBR fireblade you buy a wonderfull design´d bike with a nice 4 stroke engine and much power, and its easy to handle...
Nope, that is the streetbike! I have that very one, but in silver, and let me tell you it is a missle, and it looks amazing! Oh, and I put a Jardine dual outlet exhaust on it, and it growls like nothing other! Awesome bike to say the least!
oh shiiiit, im planning on selling my 189cc pretty soon now that i have cash, i though of getting an R6 but then i came across this, how much does it roughly cost, is the maintenence per month high?
Well cost varies depending if you want new or used, but figure around ten grand. Maintence is about the same as a 600. Power is mindblowing though. I had the new R6 before I got this one, and it blew me away how fast this one is! I wouldn't care if maintence was twice as much, I love it.
well its good to buy a used one, most of the time they have really low mileage, esp since the economic crisis, but if your a new rider, definately get the 600 cause, on the bigger bikes you get into trouble reeeel fast, thats true even on a 600
only good hondas are the ones that have 2 wheels instead of 4.

cuz this is one of the only aprilia engines that are made in italy (the rest is made in germany).

i agree i love honda bikes but not the new models at all i have a limited edition bran new 2007 repsol cbr 1000rr its fast as hell and nice its an original limited edition i only changed the rear and front blinker lights i didnt like the light stiking out like that now the are one with the body of the bike and they are led as well so they will never burn out.i love my bike

I have a HRC (tricolor) 2007 RR, I love it. Don't call the repsol version a "limited edition". Its so "limited", that 2 from 3 RRs are repsol :D

08-09 CBR1000RR looks ugly as hell they ruined it! i want a 1000RR more than any other bike, but when i can go get one ill be shopping used for sure 07 or under!

O man are you lucky! I am going to try maybe next year, i will Ride my R1 for now, it is wicked fast too, but i know the honda will be better, more comfy and handle better for sure!

havent rode an R1 yet but a buddy has a 05 that is real sweet.i raced him on a back road and he could launch harder keepin the wheel down but i caught and passed him quick in 2nd gear then he held behind like 3 or 4 bike lengths up to 175 when we let off.lots of fun.lol

I actually like the old style of the bike, brother has a cbr1000 08, and its meh. Powerful and fast as hell, but meh, id take an r1 before a cbr1000. Just preference.

Yeah, but i dont like the design of the ZZR 1400 and Hayabusa. The ZZR 1400 has more power but it doesn´t look so nice like a CBR 600 RR or 1000 RR does. I want a real bike and not a high comfort tour bike, cause they look so dump. My bike is my 2nd girlfriend, and who want´s and ugly girlfried??

Not just the engine the CBR 1000 rr is much ligther then a GSX 1300 R or ZX 12 r but with an CBR fireblade you buy a wonderfull design´d bike with a nice 4 stroke engine and much power, and its easy to handle...

Nope, that is the streetbike! I have that very one, but in silver, and let me tell you it is a missle, and it looks amazing! Oh, and I put a Jardine dual outlet exhaust on it, and it growls like nothing other! Awesome bike to say the least!

Well cost varies depending if you want new or used, but figure around ten grand. Maintence is about the same as a 600. Power is mindblowing though. I had the new R6 before I got this one, and it blew me away how fast this one is! I wouldn't care if maintence was twice as much, I love it.

well its good to buy a used one, most of the time they have really low mileage, esp since the economic crisis, but if your a new rider, definately get the 600 cause, on the bigger bikes you get into trouble reeeel fast, thats true even on a 600
