Elbows and knees are fine for short distance also, but what Glenn is doing here by developing short-distance power with hands allows him to deliver impact once his hands are already inside. That serves a different short-range purpose than elbows and knees since it allows him to manipulate past the defense before delivering impact.
Don't worry, I'm sure he works elbows and knees too...,
I know that a martial artist must utilize his whole body, but i prefer training so that i don't get in a situation where i will have to use such close fist strike. I would prefer a throw in such a situation. Anyway very good vid.
You lose your bet then. Plus my opinion is legit and if you've ever had a fight in your life you would know. This guy is a dedicated martial artist, and it's obvious he has done lots of conditioning, but it doesn't mean every technique he's practicing is applicable. In fact, in a real fight, the more you're familiar with basics, the higher your chances are. Simple works best.
P.S.: Yamabushi, i just re-read ur post, it's Kensei, not KenseL, i know, shrift sux :D
did you purchase the makiwaras like that? or did you make them by yourself? im more interested in that 4x4 one! osu!

Where can i find a makiwara like what you are using for my own training?
Is there a company out there that sells these?

Kensel you must train for ALL situations, just because you don"t see me using my elbows & knees doesn't mean I don't use them.
