@biostu The Cessna 180 is a copy of the Piper Cub if anything. The 180 was first seen in the sky in 1953, while Piper was already producing the J3's in 1938.....

Awesome plane, however, if it were my plane, I would change ONE thing. I would get MUCH bigger tires ESPECIALLY for taking off in anything but concrete. Other than that, AWESOME PLANE!!!

Would say that the propeller seems out of proportion, would like it to be bigger to fit the plane size but hey it works.

That landing was a little to close for comfort, suprised it didnt tippet at that hard turn at that speed

This is the maiden flight. Not everything was ready, but it made the first flight.. Little scary landing first time because of loss of power. Specs: WS 560 cm, weight 36 kg, engine: 3W 140 B4.

Holy fast landings McGee. Slow that thing down a bit before you put it on the ground or you're gonna wad it up. Remember Its still a cub. Awesome airplane though my .40 Cub looks micro now compared to this thing.

Lots of work, you could have built a real J3 and taken the kids for a ride. The scale speed looks somewhat fast, but the model moves like the full scale Cub. Ground loops like a full scale Cub too. Very Nice.
