  • is this street legal?

  • does that have clutch

  • poopey

  • @scottyirwin16 diarrhea

  • how would this compare with 1985 honda atc 250r? which one would win?

  • @Acelaferriere stock for stock....prob the honda 250r. Im not jealous though.

  • Man that 2-stroke sound gets my blood pumping, even when it's only at idle!

  • WOOLY BOOGERS FTW

  • I love your trike man! i would like one of these really bad! i have an 85 200 yamaha three wheeler and love it, but need suspension and would like a racer!

  • have u noticed how simalar a blaster looks to this??? and although a great trike the motor was real weak compared to the others. but tht ,akes them even rarer

  • @ima3m Not to sure about the first part. Yes, Tri-Zs do have the least powerful engine out of the racers but keep in mind that its a different kind of power. Tri-Zs have really good low end power for what they are...and it helps on trails and more technical terrain so you dont have to downshift as much. Compared to say a Tecate 3 which absolutly screams in the top end but has no bottom end guts. Tri-Z powerband = smooth, T3 powerband = flipping the switch from nothing to rip your face off.

  • @ima3m I know this comments like a year old but several major parts are shared between the Tri-Z/Blaster/Warrior. Rear Swingarm being one. Most of the rear end in fact.

  • what a hell of a machine.

  • I had an old 3 wheeler that was giving to me dont remember what type or anything but it was really old anyway to make a long story short my dad and I worked on it for months and months and finally got it to run... It ran great but then we were taking it out to go ride and I was at a buddies house letting it warm up outside and I went inside for a minute and somebody took off with it. Tell you what that pissed me off lol

  • what type of front tire do you run on that? my friend has one of these 3 wheelers and needs a front tire

  • they should of put this engine inside the blaster instead of a 200 it would be the best in its class

  • blasters would have been nasty with this motor. Too bad......

  • @Venomrs4 how bout mod one yourself

  • @CoalRegionRiders its on my to-do list!

  • @Venomrs4 i agree, with this motor, longer a arms, swingarm, axle, the blaster wouldve been nasty

  • @Venomrs4 what are your rear tires? i have the same on my Blaster

  • @MrSweetleaf92 Wooly Boogers! They arent the coolest looking tire out there but they seriously get you through anything!

  • @Venomrs4 Gotta love them Boogers lol

  • @raptorandblaster your right! idk why they didnt put a 250 in the blaster. it would have been awsome

  • Beautiful.

  • ive got a honda 350x and an 85 honda 250sx

  • aweosme. Ive had them in the past. Great machines. They say the 350x is the "Cadillac of trikes."

  • @Venomrs4 my uncle had a 200x atc that he raced. it was all modified. If he still had it he would've given it to me............... but he sold it.

  • thats unfortunate. i wonder if its still around.

  • yeah he probably kept it and probably rides it. I love 3 wheelers. thats a nice Tri-Z you have.

  • @Venomrs4 yeah the guy probably kept it and rides it or something. Thats a nice Tri-Z you have. I like that 2 stroke sound.

  • Im getting a pretty beat to crap "86 from my friend the thing hasn't been serviced since "86 and the thing shoots oil out the pipe and smoke comes up right from the engine

  • nice. Fit it up and ride it!

  • im a honda atc guy,how the hell u put gas in it,no cap at top??

  • lol, the gas cap is actually under the seat. The fuel tank is under the rear fender. The place where you would normaly put the gas on say a 250r is actually the air box.

  • wow if thats not confusing, idk what is lol

  • yeah, the first time i looked at one I was a bit dumbfounded. But you get used to it. I think its kinda neat.

  • I still miss mine.. I sold it to buy my '91 Banshee (in 1991) That thing was fast. I redid the top end ,reeds ,piston rings milled head ,

    Pipe and jets.

I used to race desert and grand prix races in SoCal. I don't remember ever getting past by either a Tecate or Honda.

I'm not saying they weren't faster , I just don't remember getting beat. The bike never let me down , and I used to abuse the crap out of it.

I could go on and on...It's good to see one again.

  • yeah....nowadays, these things are rare. Most were either beat, neglected, or parted. There arent many survivors. Some day, these trikes will be worth big money as collector items. They are legendary!

  • are they relible

  • if you take care of them.

  • do you mean a service them a alot

  • thats a nice trike,i traded my mint 87 yamaha big wheel for mine, and the first time i ripped it the engine blew.after i took it apart i saw that someone tried to glue the impeller on to the shaft causing it to overheat,it was my fault ,im new to these, damn thats what that red light was for.crap

  • uh oh! At least they are easy to work on.

  • Im going to be getting a run-down tri-z soon and wondering if if is able to take other parts other than different tri-z parts.

  • Im not sure how interchangable the parts are between the Tri-Z and other bikes but I do know that for the most part, their motor is the same as 83-85' YZ250s(except powervalve and reverse kick). You can even convert your Z to powervalve using the parts.

  • Ok thanks because my friend has a pretty good motor that should work then.

  • what do you do about the reverse kick, is the 83-85 a direct bolt in? I am getting a 1985 and 1/2 ???? soon and it only has the bottom end

  • The motor will directly bolt in but there are issues. The Z expansion chamber will need to be modified because the exhaust manifold doesnt ine up on a YZ motor. You can convert the YZ motor to forward kick using parts from both bottom ends but it will take some modification. I am pretty sure the carb wont line up with the air box either. Its all fairly minor stuff.

  • well any ways nice bike man for sure holy fuck i love thoses bikes

  • y is my 86 tri-z red and white, and others are yellow and black?

  • regular 85's are yellow/black. 85.5's are black/red. 86's are white/red. It depends on the year.

  • thats how heaven must sound!

  • Pretty darn close!

  • whats faster tri z or 250r

  • I think 3 wheeling magazine or dirt wheels or something did a test where they compared all the 86' machines. They did a bunch of drag races and the trend was:, (1) Tecate 3, (2) ATC 250R, (3) Tri-Z (4) Tecate 4 (5) TRX 250R (6) LT250R

  • yep i found that article,and i want a tecate

  • really well u know your shit thats cool and yea love the bike there really nice man plus a 250r wouldent be as releible because the cr moter is not at all as is the yz moter is if u know what i mean

  • I dont know for sure which trike is more reliable. I think any machine that is properly maintained will be reliable. When they get neglected is when they have problems. Arguements about this can go either way because there are so many variables.

  • nice

  • I think a atc 250r could beat a tri-z lol! but still good bike!!!!

  • ahahahah your on crack

  • Hi... really nice trike... Can I ask if it has reverse?

  • Thanks! Nope....no reverse.

  • appreciate it man its a pretty nice 500 ill see if i can get a vid of it on here for ya it will pull 5 gear wheelies without clutching it all day! but i bet that trike you have is a blast! you know anyone selling a nice tri-z or atc 250r ? how much would you sell yours for?

  • Sweet, I'd love to see a vid. I actualy just picked a KTM 500MX myself. What a monster it is! Id sell it for $1000 probably....if I were to sell it.

  • 01' cr500AF rider here just wanted to say nice trike man

  • Thanks! Cr500.......you ride a pretty bad bike too!

  • I miss my Tri-Z - it ripped soooo good!

    Nice ride...

  • thanks!

  • i love the old 2 stroke trikes , i think yamaha makes the best 2 stroke engine out there. i love my yz80 even though im 200 lbs and 6'2 it still hauls me around no hesitation , and its a 1985!

  • Heck yeah! Strokers for life! I had a 1985 YZ80 too. Great bike. I ended up trading it for a 200X that turned out to be a nightmare. Got rid of that and ended up with a 350x intead.

  • how big were ya when you rode the yz80? im a big guy lol , over 200 lbs and the thing still rips

  • Awesome. Gotta love trikes. I've got 3, ones a Z exactly like this 85 5-speed (except my frames black). She doesn't shift any more, gotta fix it so I can make a sweet YT vid =0) 5 STars!

  • Thanks for the comment! Long live trikes!

  • Youre welcome. You seem to have deleted my comment tho. =0(

  • nope, I have my comments set so that they approval before they are posted. I clicked approve but i guess it didnt. I fixed it though.

  • does it say honda on ur seat?

  • Nope, it says Ceet.

  • the red makes everything stangd out good job there arent many in that kind of condition anymore

  • red frame??

  • Yep. Its an 85.5 with yellow plastics.

  • Nice !!

  • thanks!

  • tri zs are cool but they never held up very long

  • Yeah. They did have their problems. Yamaha way over-engineered them and made them complicated. But if you keep up on the maintenence (and use lots of loc-tite) they are great machines.

  • i have a 1985 250r and i ride with a guy that has a tri z and he never takes care of it so i am always working on it and he wont ever listen to me when i tell him to take care of it..anyways nice trike
