Gary Speed, a football manager, takes his OWN life and receives a stupendous amount of respects paid to him. A soldier from 5 Rifles was also killed the same day, half Gary's age and died whilst serving your country, yet all he receives is a ten second mention on the radio then the world forgets him. It is awful and sad that Gary Speed died, but I hate that we live in a world where the only deaths we concern ourselves with are celebrities, and not heroes.

@JON27M Perhaps you should call and complain to Canada's Veterans Affairs because they are the source of the photos and their details including, but not limited to, the name of the subject, rank, unit, date, battle, name of the photographer and a reference number to locate the original negative in the Canadian archives. Would you like me to send you the phone number?
@supercanadiandude Also anything else that lives in the sea,..hunt it...kill it..ooopps you have done that already,.we are warriors...you are fisherman,.Inuit...we speak Scottish not Francais'...Tries bien...Nova Scotia..New Scotland..we own you, remember your history stupid.
@JON27M Where are you from? If my footage is incorrect, why would you call me an idiot and claim that I don't know 'history' because I didn't include Canadian mounties?
@JON27M I saw about 3 British & 2 American photos, all the rest were Canadian.... sorry bud, gotta look @ their collars & shoulders. If you like being so specific, why not go look @ some British & American slide shows & inform them of how many Canadian pictures were in there. Remember we are all on the same side.
@02Blackbeard what so you would rather have taliban killing many innocent people while i kill people who want to kill innocent people yea sure a few innocent people get killed in our paths but thats war war is hell
England will never know freedom !. For all you're years of intruding on other countries you will feel the brunt of a massive attack someday soon. @MrGoughr Thanks for watching my video. I genuinely wish you well and hope that you'll eventually seek truth and love instead of anger and hate. All the best to you.
Our brave men and women fought to retain our freedoms/beliefs and now lose their lives to help other countries realize theirs. We must remain vigilant so that our freedoms/beliefs are not corroded by newcomers demanding we surrender our way of life under the guise of multiculturalism and inclusiveness. We pay homage to our fallen. Bring back the Lord's Prayer and singing of the national anthem to morning school assemblies across the nation. Lest we forget!

His back is to the tree so that he doesn't get shot while he poses. Gramps was one of many GREAT CANADIANS! He survived the war!

@03Dmartin In World Wars I and II and in most campaigns we could tell who our enemy was. In Afghanistan, a soldier could be sitting down with a group of new villagers and out of the blue an axe thrown to his head. No, Afghanistan differed from both World Wars and each of the World Wars differed from each other. God save us in future wars if possible.
@03Dmartin Tell that to the mothers and fathers, wives and husbands, children and men and women who served next to the 158 fallen in Afghanistan. Tell that to the thousand severely wounded Canadian soldiers that the war they fought was not the same as any war. Your comment shows your lack of understanding of anything military and history.
@noobforevah You have no idea how much I want to beat the shit out of you now....Germans are good, the Nazi's were bad, naxi's and Germans are totally different
im persian and i ve borned and grown up in Iran it has been 2 years im living in Toronto Canada .when i saw this video last year for the first time at my high school i felt soooooooooooooooo sad and crying for an hour :( its hard to see your sisters and brothers sacrificed themselves for keeping u safe now ! may god bleese them all :( each time when i see this video i feel totally depressed :(
The picture at 3:07 looks like a modern war photo. It's amazing what they accomplished with such basic supplies, like ladders. I am forever thankful for my freedom. Thank you to all soldiers! Today and everyday.
@HiddenSkaterChick i know i hate it... when we had our assembly in school a guy behind me kept laughing because there dead.. i felt like turning aruond and punching him in the face.......... and since 2day is 11/11/11 we should give thanks to the ppl who fought for us and share this on to facebook or twitter... im gonna share it on both now!
I am 40 and my Dad was born on PEI, I am proud of him for having done his time in the 70's, I had to wait till the 90's. Northern Ireland. Must run in the family
Thank you so much for this video. I am sure that it will be widely appreciated by our military. I am very proud of every one of them for their service, that's of Canadians in past wars and in present.
I dont know why people have the nerve to dislike this video, in my point of view its disliking the people who fought in the war , and who fought and died.
Thank you for making this video. My Grand Father was a WWII soldier. Was in the front lines in Normandy (Grenadier). Lost many of his friends during battle and we lost him 10 years ago. Remembering him and all those who we have lost in battle & after is super important to me. God Bless them all!
I really like your video and song is great. With Remembrance day coming, please check out my video 'Soldier Boy' (search Stu Aspinall). I wrote the song after being inspired by the story of a young soldier who suffered from PTSD before finally giving in to the disorder. I am donating proceeds from every download of my song to support programs that help soldiers and their families try and deal with PTSD, so PLEASE go to itunes. Thanks for the support & to soldiers everywhere!! Lest we Forget!
Please take care of all those brave men and women who have given their lives to keep our great country free. May you comfort these heroes everyday as they look down on us. Please help us, the living, to be better people so that we may earn the right to be free.
To you, The Fallen,
Thankyou for making the ultimate sacrifice so that we may live happy and free. I promise to keep you all close to my heart and in my mind.
Respectfully and beautifully done! With this song and video, you have managed to capture the spirit of the men and women who have served and continue to serve Canada, their incredible bravery and the painful memories we share for all of those who lost their lives. Thank you.
Another year, and more parades and moments to wear my DEU's and remember, to pay respect and moments of silence to those who came before me, served with duty, loyalty, integrity, and courage, and gave everything including the ultimate sacrifice for my freedom. Gone, but never forgotten.
On remembrance day, Im doing like I have the past 2 years, putting on my Army Cadets uniform, and going out, carrying a rifle over my shoulder, and doing rifle drill and marching, not for my community, but to honor the soldiers who died serving to give our country the name it has "home of the strong and free"
fucking faggots you have nothing better to do then to hate countries eh? just because they dont have a real country of there own. there just mad from the war thats all lol....comparing canadians to americans saying were fat retards. i bet you anything these faggots are FAT RETARDS
I know a hero who have fought Normandie Netherland and Corea Leo Major he liberted alone the city of Zwolle netherland look up for Leo Major Tip (Léo Major Héros Québécois 1/2 vidéos ) he was a great man !
@auclair84 In fact, there were many soldiers french-Canadians during the Second World War who were recruited by the SOE and become spies. Several of them have played very large roles with the French resistance. These guys are often forgotten but for me they are great heroes who gave their lives or returned with a lot of luck. I think another Lucien Dumais, Guy D'Artois, Raymond Labrosse, Gustave Bieler, Allyre Sirois and more! Je me souviens.
Thank you for posting this commemorative video. I have been teaching Canadian History for many years now and this video reflects our Canadian identity - past, present and future. I can only hope that all Canadians are taught to value the past sacrifices and enormous moral wealth of this country. We are an identity in constant evolution and this video captures our collective memories and our rich, albeit young, history. I will look forward to using this at our 2011 Remembrance Day Ceremony @ EOM
song is great. ide say ww2 is my faveorite war but if war was a faveroite for anyone it would disguest me so let me say that the war we are in now over seas ide say good luck and may god help you. but ww2 is the one war that hit me the most.
this vid is back when men were men, no high tech missles, just a man a rifle and a knife. The sacrifices they made were incredible, and bravery they showed is 2nd to none.
One does not always count on the outcomes - having lost someone in the WW's, remembrance is what keeps us alive. believing keeps many of us on our feet.
Some great nations came together during this war. Im proud to be called British and know we have such great friends with countries like Canada and the US :)
Thank you so much for the work that went into this. In every war shown I've had relatives and friends fight and and a few even died. This respect and patriotism would mean so very much to each one of these men and their families left behind. God Bless you, and all who carry this message on in a positive manner.
this was beautiful, it brought a tear to my eye. RIP to all the soldiers who fought to save our lives. its much appreciated by most people! well done <3
I'd imagine those four who clicked "dislike" are either Islamic terrorists, terrorist sympathizers or ultra-left flaky peaceniks --- all of who are beneficiaries of the freedom our soldiers fought and died to preserve. Yet they'd be strung up or beheaded for expressing such dissent in the countries they came from.
@aviator902s or someone who had a brother in Vietnam who was sprayed by Agent Orange by his own military and had 2 autistic daughters cause of it, 18 veterans take their own life a day more kill themselves than r killed by Muslim extremists and as usual u no nothing of the fact that Al Qaeda was funded and created by the US Government during the 1980s recruited to fight Communism so the very terrorists groups we r fighting today we funded and gave weapons to them
@tfrenn Seems you've missed the entire point. If fighting back against tyranny were easy no civilians or "friendly fire" victims would die. Only enemy fighters would be killed or better yet, the Bin Ladens, Hitlers, etc. would be surgically removed, negating the need for a war in the first place. War may be evil, but some things are even more evil and must be stopped. The US may have funded Al Qaeda to fight a (then) common enemy, but Al Qaeda abused that trust. They alone are to blame.
@aviator902s when fighting evil be sure not to become what you are fighting, thats exactly what has happened to our country, we are just as ruthless as Saddam Hussein and all these other low life thugs we are constantly fucking with
@WiredLeader i disagree ww1 and ww2 are warsand the fallen soliers deserve to be remembered. afghanistan is a fight on terror not a declared war. therefore i say take the afghanistan portion out and add some from the korean war a declared war where we had more casualties in 1 hour than all of ten years in afghanistan. rememberance day is not veterans day but to remember all the fallen soldiers in the many WARS we've fought....we need a different day to rember those who died in a fight on terror
@WiredLeader-the holocaust did not happen until war was declared at least learn your facts. before then they were shipping jews to palestine now israel.... i like how you say war i agree any WAR, and i would gladly fight with them if i was layed off or wan't in a career or we declared WAR, but certainly not with a rifle...lol... u can go out with a 22 see how effective you are...lol... when i see a video that omits those who gave their lives fighting communism in korea which war is still ongoing
@51mikep The first concentration camp, Dachau, opened in 1933. By 1934 over 30,000 people were being held prisoner on account of their religious or political beliefs. By 1938, one year before the outbreak of war, the Nazis were partaking in organized acts of violence against jews. Genocide was on the agenda and put into practice long before the war started. They never shipped jews to Palestine, because the British Mandate of Palestine didn't end until 1948, after the fall of the third riech.
@WiredLeader its just now an armistince. if you think afghanistan compares in any way to what my ancestors and probably yours went through so we could be free u r a typical casualty of cnn
more ppl died this year from car accidents than the total number of canadians killed by terrorists in canada .u think in the 40swe were fighting tanks, planes, superweapons, artillery and a multi million manned army, today its goat fuckers with aks and a cple thousand men in caves.hitler was mor than a terrorist
@51mikep How dare you say we leave out faller soldiers from Afghanistan from Remembrance Day. Why don't you just go and spit on their grave, huh? It's pretty much the same thing. Why did those Canadian in WWII die? Because they were protecting people. Why did the Canadian in Afghanistan die? Hmm, was it because they were picking some lovely peaches? No, it was because they were protecting people, you ignorant fuck.
@OPINIONATED1933 HAHAHA Hitler was such a coward, as he seen his pussy ass empire crumble before him, he decided to kill himself, rather than face what has going to happen. Not heil fitler, Fuck hitler. hitler was a huge cock sucker.
@ironmaidenforlife123 You should really look at some history on Adolf Hitler. The bit's where he's in a war fighting for whatever he was fighting for im not sure cause of all the bs people post.
posting this on my novel blog the munroe series - historical fiction I talk about saving the children in britain during the war in the book , love your video - linda randall happy remembrance day britain from canada!
awesome video. I am trying to figure out why there was 4 people that clicked don't like. If it wasn't for our soldiers fighting and dying, we wouldn't be living the lives that we do today.
@shruberz what if we'd pulled out of France or Belgium or Italy. If you don't want to stand behind our troops, perhaps you'd rather pick up a gun and stand beside them.
We learned lots the first time....and the second....and the third...
@WiredLeader I 1000000% stand behind my troops that's why I don't want them to die for nothing...we have no business being in a combat mission in Afghanistan, the Taliban is no longer in power

God,
Please take care of all those brave men and women who have given their lives to keep our great country free.
I will never forget what you gave up for us.

@Gabmiggy I agree with you those guys who fought for SOE are mostly unknown but you and me remember...

I'd imagine those four who clicked "dislike" are either Islamic terrorists, terrorist sympathizers or ultra-left flaky peaceniks --- all of who are beneficiaries of the freedom our soldiers fought and died to preserve. Yet they'd be strung up or beheaded for expressing such dissent in the countries they came from.
aviator902s 1 year ago
@aviator902s or someone who had a brother in Vietnam who was sprayed by Agent Orange by his own military and had 2 autistic daughters cause of it, 18 veterans take their own life a day more kill themselves than r killed by Muslim extremists and as usual u no nothing of the fact that Al Qaeda was funded and created by the US Government during the 1980s recruited to fight Communism so the very terrorists groups we r fighting today we funded and gave weapons to them
tfrenn 1 year ago
@tfrenn Seems you've missed the entire point. If fighting back against tyranny were easy no civilians or "friendly fire" victims would die. Only enemy fighters would be killed or better yet, the Bin Ladens, Hitlers, etc. would be surgically removed, negating the need for a war in the first place. War may be evil, but some things are even more evil and must be stopped. The US may have funded Al Qaeda to fight a (then) common enemy, but Al Qaeda abused that trust. They alone are to blame.
aviator902s 1 year ago

51mikep 1 year ago
@51mikep I can't believe you even think that way.
Hitler was terrorist!! Ask someone who has survived the holocaust.
Allied troops are defending freedom!!
Remembrance day is a day to remember soldiers who have fallen in the line of duty.
If you won't stand behind our troops, then pick up a rifle and stand beside them.
If one soldier dies in a war(any war)...that is one soldier too many.
Remembrance day is a day to remember all fallen soldiers. Like it or not!
WiredLeader 1 year ago
@WiredLeader-the holocaust did not happen until war was declared at least learn your facts. before then they were shipping jews to palestine now israel.... i like how you say war i agree any WAR, and i would gladly fight with them if i was layed off or wan't in a career or we declared WAR, but certainly not with a rifle...lol... u can go out with a 22 see how effective you are...lol... when i see a video that omits those who gave their lives fighting communism in korea which war is still ongoing
51mikep 1 year ago
@51mikep The first concentration camp, Dachau, opened in 1933. By 1934 over 30,000 people were being held prisoner on account of their religious or political beliefs. By 1938, one year before the outbreak of war, the Nazis were partaking in organized acts of violence against jews. Genocide was on the agenda and put into practice long before the war started. They never shipped jews to Palestine, because the British Mandate of Palestine didn't end until 1948, after the fall of the third riech.
jordon507 11 months ago
@WiredLeader its just now an armistince. if you think afghanistan compares in any way to what my ancestors and probably yours went through so we could be free u r a typical casualty of cnn
more ppl died this year from car accidents than the total number of canadians killed by terrorists in canada .u think in the 40swe were fighting tanks, planes, superweapons, artillery and a multi million manned army, today its goat fuckers with aks and a cple thousand men in caves.hitler was mor than a terrorist
51mikep 1 year ago
@51mikep How dare you say we leave out faller soldiers from Afghanistan from Remembrance Day. Why don't you just go and spit on their grave, huh? It's pretty much the same thing. Why did those Canadian in WWII die? Because they were protecting people. Why did the Canadian in Afghanistan die? Hmm, was it because they were picking some lovely peaches? No, it was because they were protecting people, you ignorant fuck.
