  • Canadians are such legends

  • over a million Canadians volunteered to fight in ww2 one of them was my grandad sgt. Orvel Mhappy hes still alive and has Alzheimer he say out of all the boys in his class who singed up with he was the only one who lived makes me think of what these young men had to live through at my age

  • Gary Speed, a football manager, takes his OWN life and receives a stupendous amount of respects paid to him. A soldier from 5 Rifles was also killed the same day, half Gary's age and died whilst serving your country, yet all he receives is a ten second mention on the radio then the world forgets him. It is awful and sad that Gary Speed died, but I hate that we live in a world where the only deaths we concern ourselves with are celebrities, and not heroes.

  • @TheLuvinit07

No offense, and I agree with you, but mostly because he is well known is the reason he gets a long mention.

  • My freinds, remember all the innocent people that they killed to be here. Just because canada wants to kiss some ( ) . Beleive me, all will have to answer to the all mighty one day. As you know we will ALL die.

  • my school used this video for our remembrance day assembly . thank you.

  • @XxmikedaxX Awesome! Thanks for watching.

  • 10 Nazi's disliked this

  • 10 Nazi's liked this

  • @JON27M Perhaps you should call and complain to Canada's Veterans Affairs because they are the source of the photos and their details including, but not limited to, the name of the subject, rank, unit, date, battle, name of the photographer and a reference number to locate the original negative in the Canadian archives. Would you like me to send you the phone number?

  • @supercanadiandude Awesome video - thank you!

  • @supercanadiandude Go back to shooting Polar bears, kill the population...well done.

  • a CANANDIAN tribute,..it's footage of british troops you idiot...

  • @JON27M Where are you from? If my footage is incorrect, why would you call me an idiot and claim that I don't know 'history' because I didn't include Canadian mounties?

  • @JON27M The shoulder flashes that say "CANADA" seemed to give it away...

  • @JON27M I saw about 3 British & 2 American photos, all the rest were Canadian.... sorry bud, gotta look @ their collars & shoulders. If you like being so specific, why not go look @ some British & American slide shows & inform them of how many Canadian pictures were in there. Remember we are all on the same side.

  • @JON27M

Hey. Brits still died in WW1 and WW2. If you think they didn't do anything, then you have a seriously f*cked up view.

  • Thanks for this excellent video, It's fantastic.

  • im in the british army light dragoons regiment R.I.P to all men from the commonwealth and her allies who have fallen in all wars

  • @greggyinfantry Soldier of Fortune.

  • @02Blackbeard eh?

  • @greggyinfantry You are not a conscript.

Dude...you should'nt make a living out of following the Orders of the State to kill your fellow human beings.

  • @02Blackbeard what so you would rather have taliban killing many innocent people while i kill people who want to kill innocent people yea sure a few innocent people get killed in our paths but thats war war is hell

  • amazing!

  • i have English and Welsh heritage and im proud of it! :) Royal Canadian Forces for the win! :)

  • As always, Britain calls, Canada answers. My Dad is Canadian and I am Scottish. What a heritage. PROUD

  • I am a Scotsman with a dad from PEI. I am proud to class myself as part Canadian

  • @MrGoughr Thanks for watching my video. I genuinely wish you well and hope that you'll eventually seek truth and love instead of anger and hate. All the best to you.

  • Our brave men and women fought to retain our freedoms/beliefs and now lose their lives to help other countries realize theirs. We must remain vigilant so that our freedoms/beliefs are not corroded by newcomers demanding we surrender our way of life under the guise of multiculturalism and inclusiveness. We pay homage to our fallen. Bring back the Lord's Prayer and singing of the national anthem to morning school assemblies across the nation. Lest we forget!

  • god bless the vetrans ! let us never forget the sacrifice

  • FUCK THE 9 HOMOS WHO DISLIKED THIS VIDEO DIE IN SHIT YOU PIECES OF FUCK !!!!!!

  • my granddad was in ww2 fighting he was in the royal air force and god only hows how much i would have like to have talk to him xx r.i.p

  • A couple words....

Thank you for posting this. You have reduced me and probably many others to tears. I never had anyone I know fight in the war, but I like to read about World War 2 and the sacrifises all of the Allies made at Stalingrad, Dieppe, Juno and Omaha beaches. God Bless all of them.

  • That;s my Grampa in the pic at 3:02 (the soldier with his back to the tree) He was 18 in the photo, and if you look in the back top left, there are 2of his comrades engaged in battle, so when a lost reporter confounded in my Gramps on how to get back to base he offered to take his pic and send it home to let fam know he was ok. His back is to the tree so that he doesn't get shot while he poses. Gramps was one of many GREAT CANADIANS! He survived the war!

  • @superlumsky Is it really ?

  • My School Wants me TO Watch This

  • amazing video, My grandfather served through both wars. This song is so fitting to the amazing and moving images and footage

  • So sad:( My grandfather served in world war 2 but he died of cancer (so he survived) OMG every assembly I cry ;(

  • Video should be 2 mins long :) My great grandad was a Scottish general that commanded a fleet to Normandy and was shot in his cigarette lighter which was steal and sadly died of cancer, RIP to all the Fallen, you 9 people are horrible heartless people people died to save millions

  • A wonderful tribute. Well done and thanks.

  • Many think Remembrance Day is just to remember dead soldiers. Others say no one nation is more right than another.

Both completely betray those who fought & died for true political freedom. Although Nov 11 began after WW1, the two most moral wars ever fought, were the American Revolution & WW2. They clearly fought tyranny, FOR political freedom: for gov't where each citizen is free from force by other citizens *including* the citizens engaged in government. Today gov't laws betray veterans.

  • i miss youu great granpa..i will leave out some of the lifesaver candys for you after supper today..pleese come to see me ..

i will go to sleep...... may be.. you can sneek them away and like them..o.k.

Gemma xxoo toronto,Canadai miss you..i am sad.

  • Im gonna be really honest i respect people who fight for us and the people who died for us , but people who say one country is wrong and one, their just wrong no country can ever be right or wrong they do what they beleive to be right, im not takin sides, the world should try and unite not fight over tiny diffrences, its just stupid and this song is so right, 'may angels lead us in'

  • Truth, Hope,Love...The last three words ,of my dying Grandfather...RIP

From all of the family...We love you.

    Gemma XXOO ...

As you said, 'i'll probably be back here in a thousand years from now anyway."

  • Watched this in school an now watched it again, the song gets to you too....

  • Excellent compilation! Thank you!

  • Nice video, but you should have included Great Britain and her Commonwealth allies in the Battle of Hong Kong as well as the rest of Asia. A lot of good people lost their lives there defending against a foe that was bound to overwhelm them.

  • @03Dmartin The wars don't need to be compared. We lost brave people - that's the point.

  • @03Dmartin In World Wars I and II and in most campaigns we could tell who our enemy was. In Afghanistan, a soldier could be sitting down with a group of new villagers and out of the blue an axe thrown to his head. No, Afghanistan differed from both World Wars and each of the World Wars differed from each other. God save us in future wars if possible.

  • @03Dmartin is it not, people may not die in afghanistan like they did in ww1 or ww2 but it is still peoples loved loves

  • @03Dmartin Tell that to the mothers and fathers, wives and husbands, children and men and women who served next to the 158 fallen in Afghanistan. Tell that to the thousand severely wounded Canadian soldiers that the war they fought was not the same as any war. Your comment shows your lack of understanding of anything military and history.

  • r.i.p 11/11/11♥

never ever be forgotten,we love you. you're our hero's. the sacrifices you made where unbelievable, we love you♥♥♥♥♥

  • 11.11.11 ONCE A CENTURAY

  • The people who dislike this are probably Koreans or Germans. Amem

  • @noobforevah You have no idea how much I want to beat the shit out of you now....Germans are good, the Nazi's were bad, naxi's and Germans are totally different

  • im persian and i ve borned and grown up in Iran it has been 2 years im living in Toronto Canada .when i saw this video last year for the first time at my high school i felt soooooooooooooooo sad and crying for an hour :( its hard to see your sisters and brothers sacrificed themselves for keeping u safe now ! may god bleese them all :( each time when i see this video i feel totally depressed :(

  • 3:26 CHIMO!

  • The picture at 3:07 looks like a modern war photo. It's amazing what they accomplished with such basic supplies, like ladders. I am forever thankful for my freedom. Thank you to all soldiers! Today and everyday.

  • My school watched this today and yesterday, its really meaningfull <3

R.I.P and thanks to the ones who fight for our freedom and lives <3

  • @HiddenSkaterChick our school did the same thing.. i cried the whole time

  • @younghmj I tried not to cry which i didn't because i didn't want to be embarrased but i was focused on the video 100%

When we did the remembrance ceremony, i focused hard <3

Its horrible when people don't care, they'd be dead if it weren't for these wonderful soldiers <3

  • @HiddenSkaterChick i know i hate it... when we had our assembly in school a guy behind me kept laughing because there dead.. i felt like turning aruond and punching him in the face.......... and since 2day is 11/11/11 we should give thanks to the ppl who fought for us and share this on to facebook or twitter... im gonna share it on both now!

  • 9 people are in the Taliban....

  • I am 40 and my Dad was born on PEI, I am proud of him for having done his time in the 70's, I had to wait till the 90's. Northern Ireland. Must run in the family

  • Thank you so much for this video. I am sure that it will be widely appreciated by our military. I am very proud of every one of them for their service, that's of Canadians in past wars and in present.

  • really immaturre , why would you play cod.. grow up.

  • @Amber6600 wow nice trolling

  • I dont know why people have the nerve to dislike this video, in my point of view its disliking the people who fought in the war , and who fought and died.

  • Thank you for making this video. My Grand Father was a WWII soldier. Was in the front lines in Normandy (Grenadier). Lost many of his friends during battle and we lost him 10 years ago. Remembering him and all those who we have lost in battle & after is super important to me. God Bless them all!

  • God,

Please take care of all those brave men and women who have given their lives to keep our great country free. May you comfort these heroes everyday as they look down on us. Please help us, the living, to be better people so that we may earn the right to be free.

    To you, The Fallen,

Thankyou for making the ultimate sacrifice so that we may live happy and free. I promise to keep you all close to my heart and in my mind.

I will never forget what you gave up for us.

  • thank you

  • it's ether im one of those people who tear up when watching videos like this or this video is just sad.

every year, people think less and less about remembrance day every year.

  • This is incredible.

  • makes me cry

  • this makes me cry.

  • Respectfully and beautifully done! With this song and video, you have managed to capture the spirit of the men and women who have served and continue to serve Canada, their incredible bravery and the painful memories we share for all of those who lost their lives. Thank you.

  • God Bless our brave boys! I am so proud to be in the Canadian Army!

  • Another year, and more parades and moments to wear my DEU's and remember, to pay respect and moments of silence to those who came before me, served with duty, loyalty, integrity, and courage, and gave everything including the ultimate sacrifice for my freedom. Gone, but never forgotten.

  • very nice thnx for remmembering our soliders this is more than any solider could ask for just to to remmemer ther friends and family

  • On remembrance day, Im doing like I have the past 2 years, putting on my Army Cadets uniform, and going out, carrying a rifle over my shoulder, and doing rifle drill and marching, not for my community, but to honor the soldiers who died serving to give our country the name it has "home of the strong and free"

  • on remembrance day im not going to play cod...

  • @kingbuckytheturtle Right on. We should start a movement!

  • @supercanadiandude This is brilliant, Jonathan!

  • @kingbuckytheturtle That's right. You're gonna play Skyrim instead! 11.11.11

  • @kingbuckytheturtle

    COD? Call of duty?

  • @kingbuckytheturtle cod came out on the 8th you HURP DURP

  • @kingbuckytheturtle in stead im playing battle feild right?

    im kidding lest we forget

  • @kingbuckytheturtle

Good call, i've now decided not to play BF3 today either. Respect.

  • April 1945 My father with the Canadian Corps of the 1st Canadian Army helped liberate Arnhem !

When I visit for my 1st trip there, love to see the area

  • fucking faggots you have nothing better to do then to hate countries eh? just because they dont have a real country of there own. there just mad from the war thats all lol....comparing canadians to americans saying were fat retards. i bet you anything these faggots are FAT RETARDS

  • @tourettesguy2008 lol omg, i love how youre saying that with your account name "tourettesguy2008"

  • I know a hero who have fought Normandie Netherland and Corea Leo Major he liberted alone the city of Zwolle netherland look up for Leo Major Tip (Léo Major Héros Québécois 1/2 vidéos ) he was a great man !

  • @auclair84 In fact, there were many soldiers french-Canadians during the Second World War who were recruited by the SOE and become spies. Several of them have played very large roles with the French resistance. These guys are often forgotten but for me they are great heroes who gave their lives or returned with a lot of luck. I think another Lucien Dumais, Guy D'Artois, Raymond Labrosse, Gustave Bieler, Allyre Sirois and more! Je me souviens.

  • @Gabmiggy I agree with you those guys who fought for SOE are mostly unknown but you and me remember...

  • Thank you for posting this commemorative video. I have been teaching Canadian History for many years now and this video reflects our Canadian identity - past, present and future. I can only hope that all Canadians are taught to value the past sacrifices and enormous moral wealth of this country. We are an identity in constant evolution and this video captures our collective memories and our rich, albeit young, history. I will look forward to using this at our 2011 Remembrance Day Ceremony @ EOM

  • Today May 4. we stand still, in silence. For all who are fallen in war. For all who gave their life. For all who fought for our freedom.

    We will never forget them.

  • @kitchenfromhell Well said. May 4th is a solemn day for Europe and especially the Netherlands. Thank you for remembering.

  • thnxx to all soldiers how saved nederland!!!

  • If you enjoy your freedom, thanks a veteran! So proud to be Canadian.

  • great video

  • God Bless Canada, and God Save the Queen!

  • I think you need to put down your pipe....

I can't see it from your point of view since I can't get my head that far up my ass!!

Why don't you get in your car and go for a drive....maybe we'll get lucky.

I won't respond any further to your mindless ramblings.

  • song is great. ide say ww2 is my faveorite war but if war was a faveroite for anyone it would disguest me so let me say that the war we are in now over seas ide say good luck and may god help you. but ww2 is the one war that hit me the most.

  • @ANAYMOUS1 Please use a capital G when spelling God's name.

  • commonwealth forever!!

  • I have to say the picture at 2:57 is such a powerful one. Saluting his friend as the dutch people gather around him.

  • I'm proud to be CANADIAN!!!

  • this vid is back when men were men, no high tech missles, just a man a rifle and a knife. The sacrifices they made were incredible, and bravery they showed is 2nd to none.

  • Thank you Canadians for your sacrafice particularly in WW1 and WW2, something that we Britons should say more often but don't.

  • ALL GREAT PEOPLE.WE CAN'T FORGET THEM.

  • The men and women who fought and gave their all in World War I are to be remembered as heroes - all. The poppies symbolize their sacrifice.

The leaders of nations who dragged their peoples in a totally unnecessary war are to be cursed to eternal hell for their evil infamy.

  • burn in hell fat bastards, theyre getting theyre ass whipped in their shit green hippie uniform by the devil.

  • AMAZING VIDEO. for sure my favourite of all the Remembrance Day Videos. thank you!

  • One does not always count on the outcomes - having lost someone in the WW's, remembrance is what keeps us alive. believing keeps many of us on our feet.

  • 4 people have no heart

  • beautiful and truly moving

  • Some great nations came together during this war. Im proud to be called British and know we have such great friends with countries like Canada and the US :)

  • All I can say is thank you for posting this, and to those who have fought or fallen, my heartfelt gratitude goes out to you.

  • Thank you so much for the work that went into this. In every war shown I've had relatives and friends fight and and a few even died. This respect and patriotism would mean so very much to each one of these men and their families left behind. God Bless you, and all who carry this message on in a positive manner.

  • Thank you for posting this....so moving.

  • I love this video! It's amazing and i love the song you choose. Thank you for posting this. I cried when i saw this video. Beautiful.

  • Breathtakingly, heart breakingly beautiful. Thank you for posting this.

  • Thanks for posting this!!

May all the fallen soldiers be at peace in a better place.

  • this was beautiful, it brought a tear to my eye. RIP to all the soldiers who fought to save our lives. its much appreciated by most people! well done <3

  • i love the video thank you for making this

  • I'd imagine those four who clicked "dislike" are either Islamic terrorists, terrorist sympathizers or ultra-left flaky peaceniks --- all of who are beneficiaries of the freedom our soldiers fought and died to preserve. Yet they'd be strung up or beheaded for expressing such dissent in the countries they came from.

  • @aviator902s or someone who had a brother in Vietnam who was sprayed by Agent Orange by his own military and had 2 autistic daughters cause of it, 18 veterans take their own life a day more kill themselves than r killed by Muslim extremists and as usual u no nothing of the fact that Al Qaeda was funded and created by the US Government during the 1980s recruited to fight Communism so the very terrorists groups we r fighting today we funded and gave weapons to them

  • @tfrenn Seems you've missed the entire point. If fighting back against tyranny were easy no civilians or "friendly fire" victims would die. Only enemy fighters would be killed or better yet, the Bin Ladens, Hitlers, etc. would be surgically removed, negating the need for a war in the first place. War may be evil, but some things are even more evil and must be stopped. The US may have funded Al Qaeda to fight a (then) common enemy, but Al Qaeda abused that trust. They alone are to blame.

  • @aviator902s when fighting evil be sure not to become what you are fighting, thats exactly what has happened to our country, we are just as ruthless as Saddam Hussein and all these other low life thugs we are constantly fucking with

  • @tfrenn Why do you say that??.....I don't think you have a clue what you are talking about.

Canadian Soldiers are overseas doing what they have always done....trying to make a difference.

    Read your history books.

  • @WiredLeader i disagree ww1 and ww2 are warsand the fallen soliers deserve to be remembered. afghanistan is a fight on terror not a declared war. therefore i say take the afghanistan portion out and add some from the korean war a declared war where we had more casualties in 1 hour than all of ten years in afghanistan. rememberance day is not veterans day but to remember all the fallen soldiers in the many WARS we've fought....we need a different day to rember those who died in a fight on terror

  • @51mikep I can't believe you even think that way.

Hitler was terrorist!! Ask someone who has survived the holocaust.

    Allied troops are defending freedom!!

Remembrance day is a day to remember soldiers who have fallen in the line of duty.

If you won't stand behind our troops, then pick up a rifle and stand beside them.

If one soldier dies in a war(any war)...that is one soldier too many.

Remembrance day is a day to remember all fallen soldiers. Like it or not!

  • @WiredLeader-the holocaust did not happen until war was declared at least learn your facts. before then they were shipping jews to palestine now israel.... i like how you say war i agree any WAR, and i would gladly fight with them if i was layed off or wan't in a career or we declared WAR, but certainly not with a rifle...lol... u can go out with a 22 see how effective you are...lol... when i see a video that omits those who gave their lives fighting communism in korea which war is still ongoing

  • @51mikep The first concentration camp, Dachau, opened in 1933. By 1934 over 30,000 people were being held prisoner on account of their religious or political beliefs. By 1938, one year before the outbreak of war, the Nazis were partaking in organized acts of violence against jews. Genocide was on the agenda and put into practice long before the war started. They never shipped jews to Palestine, because the British Mandate of Palestine didn't end until 1948, after the fall of the third riech.

  • @WiredLeader its just now an armistince. if you think afghanistan compares in any way to what my ancestors and probably yours went through so we could be free u r a typical casualty of cnn

more ppl died this year from car accidents than the total number of canadians killed by terrorists in canada .u think in the 40swe were fighting tanks, planes, superweapons, artillery and a multi million manned army, today its goat fuckers with aks and a cple thousand men in caves.hitler was mor than a terrorist

  • @51mikep How dare you say we leave out faller soldiers from Afghanistan from Remembrance Day. Why don't you just go and spit on their grave, huh? It's pretty much the same thing. Why did those Canadian in WWII die? Because they were protecting people. Why did the Canadian in Afghanistan die? Hmm, was it because they were picking some lovely peaches? No, it was because they were protecting people, you ignorant fuck.

  • This vid gave me goosebumps....Thank you Canada and allies...

  • @OPINIONATED1933 HAHAHA Hitler was such a coward, as he seen his pussy ass empire crumble before him, he decided to kill himself, rather than face what has going to happen. Not heil fitler, Fuck hitler. hitler was a huge cock sucker.

  • @ironmaidenforlife123 You should really look at some history on Adolf Hitler. The bit's where he's in a war fighting for whatever he was fighting for im not sure cause of all the bs people post.

  • @sufeewi I have researched about Adolf Hitler, and he was a stain on humanity. Fuck him.

  • posting this on my novel blog the munroe series - historical fiction I talk about saving the children in britain during the war in the book , love your video - linda randall happy remembrance day britain from canada!

  • awesome video. I am trying to figure out why there was 4 people that clicked don't like. If it wasn't for our soldiers fighting and dying, we wouldn't be living the lives that we do today.

  • Great video!

I will be at the ceremonies in Ottawa tomorrow to pay my respects to those that fought for my freedom.

  • just saw this at school today, purposely wanted to find the video and watch it again.

    I love the song

  • WHY DIDN'T WE LEARN THE FIRST TIME "LEST WE FORGET" OUT OF AFGHANISTAN NOW!!!

  • @shruberz what if we'd pulled out of France or Belgium or Italy. If you don't want to stand behind our troops, perhaps you'd rather pick up a gun and stand beside them.

We learned lots the first time....and the second....and the third...

  • @WiredLeader I 1000000% stand behind my troops that's why I don't want them to die for nothing...we have no business being in a combat mission in Afghanistan, the Taliban is no longer in power
