The songs main idea is about how much better the world would be if woman ruled it. Like most songs, get on your boots needs to be listened to at least 5 times(in my opinion) before you can fully appreciate it. I didn't understand it first either.
The whole new album is fantastic and this songs lyrics might not mean alot but moment of surrender, cedars of lebanon, and magnificent all make up for any lyrical failings of this song.
no diff here, then again, how many 'hits' now have great lyrics? U2 dont need my permission to write a rare song without meaning, go ahead, by all means!
and Boots totally grows on you, like this whole album, and can i say, the EDGE is better than ever!
I like this song. Don´t know why many people say it´s crap. For me it´s powerful and makes your ass moving along the music. I compare it a lot with Vertigo. U2 are really good.
U2 often releases unorthodox songs as their first single off an upcoming album, like The Fly and Numb. The Fly, which I couldn't stand when it was first released is now among my favorite U2 songs, and this one, like the comment that precedes mine notes, really grows on you.
Love the live performance from U2! Generally they sound better live than the album. This album has been produced much better this time.
I like Get on your Boots but this live performance doesn't seem as good as the Grammy's performance.
No disrespect to The Edge(fantastic guitarist!) but anyone notice The Edge's mistake @ 3:24 into the song. A rare thing! Has to stop singing to get the cords right again.
Thanks, it was a tough week, I'm soooo tired now, but it was well worth it, thanks U2, thanks CBS and the Late Show team and not forgetting the U2 team of course.
yeah this is a decent concert song, but there are so many better songs on the cd
no line on the horizon, Magnifcent, moment of surrender, unknown caller, ceders of lebanon, white as snow, breathe, crazy tonight, and even stand up comedy.
i love Letterman :D

I agree. Hard to pick a song when you hear it first live without hearing the studio version, but it stands out. And 'Boots' grows on you.
