My question: why do the stone age twats have to believe in 'God'? Fucking desert digging, camel riding, cactus-eating Arabs! Why can't the whole world have intellectual conscience... thereby recognising the ignorance of dumb-ass religion?

I'm certainly not sorry for your prejudices that you have contained within your mind. I hope you don't hate Arabs because I hate racial hate of all kind. Where the question of religon and god stands I suggest to you have a open mind, I don't bitch to Atheists and how wrong they are because they choose to be close minded and are not able to see the bigger and insightful spritual picture. Sorry but if science is so great then why doesn't it solve the problems of the world and stop blaming god.

Certainly the Kings that rule these Arab countries are certainly twats and I agree with you but to blame a religon for the actions of humans, that's just pure ignorance and judgemental. You know how the saying goes don't judge a book by it's cover. Before you insult any religon go ahead first educate yourself on what this religon actually teaches rather then jumping to your own conclusions without reason and facts which you apparently believe in. Thought science tells you to look at facts.

I don't accuse a religon of being anything until I study it myself. For example I don't understand what problem Atheists have therefore I will not accuse them of doing anything until I have reasearched and read their bible/book that guides them. Or just ask them. Obviously Atheism is slightly confused so it is difficult to guess what each individual believes in. Before you say anything about Muslims I urge you to educate yourself by reading the Quran with English translation, then you can talk.

Read the Qu'ran actually. Its answer to any meaningful question is 'Allah said so'. Still, it is a truly beautiful book... the work of a poet... but how it inspired one of the great civilizations is beyond me - maybe the supreme Arab intellects and scholars read it differently to me, I don't know. Really though... fucking Shakespeare is more profound. The Quran wouldn't know psychology if it had bit the prophet on his arse. It is pure medieval mythology.

If you didn't know those Arab scholars are not god , they are humans and humans can be greedy, selfish and manipulative YES manipulative. IN general religion was the filler for the void before science.
People didnt know what made things tick so they invented sprites and demons and gods as an answer, but science is providing the answer to how things work now and no its not a definative answer to absolutely everything it is evolving and will continue to evolve there wont be one day when scientists say we know everything now we can stop researching.
Religion is no longer and should no longer be a controlling force in modern life...

it should remain what it is a spiritual thing to be kept in mosques or in churches or synagogues or in your own home for that matter but should have absolutely no bearing on the way we live our lives anymore and no impact on the way our lives are governed.

I dont recall saying I wanted to be ignorant in fact quite the opposite I am a man of science and the verifiable evidence it provides for most things these days as opposed to religion all religion which has no verifiable proof of anything and urges 'faith' blind faith at that!
Yes life is for living to its fullest because when you die thats it nothing no afterlife and the saddest thing about people of faith is they wont even get to regret their wasted lives because there is nothing when you die

Oh wow that's a interesting theory that there is no point of life, seems very dull and pointless. The fact remains that science cannot answer or at least humans lack the ability to answer. @spanpinki it cant and at no point have I said that and as I said my living to enjoy myself may not be your cup of tea but it is a valid life in fact I would suggest more valid than those living for some sort of reward in a supposed afterlife.
If you really think that people without religion believe the world just suddenly popped into existance then your either ignorant or naieve go read some actual science books as opposed to your narrow and distorted religious texts.

@McDuff73 I would certainly be living a horrible life if there was nothing to guide me, religon in this case. Religon puts you on the right path so you can remove all of your selfish desires aside and care for others and become a nice human being. Rather then a self-centered twit as we see on the TVs nowadays. The TV (movies/reality shows) is a example of a corrupted younger generation who have nothing better to do then get the latest I phone or whatever. I'm sorry but your life is wasteful.

@McDuff73 Why do you think I am caged in religon? Is it because you feel that way? Things have happened in my life that I have come to increase my faith in god. God chooses who he wishes to guide and that is a fact. If the whole world was god fearing then wouldn't we all be perfect, but no we are humans we are not perfect. Yes I will fulfill my needs and desires to a certain extent following my religon. Human's need guides and my guide is god. When I fell suicidal and want to quit god helps me.

Its no coincidence that we have progress the farthest socially phsychologically and scientifically in the last few hundred years when in the same period the influence of religion has wained.
Religion holds the human race back from achieving the pinnacle of what we can achieve.
