hey your droid2root.rar link is dirty i have also looked on other site for the same file and they are dirty too any suggestions - all this for netflix-

@rkanicsar It shouldn't be dirty, might be your McAfee acting up, sometimes virus programs think rooting files are virus.

You get the jest of how to root your phone from this video. I use to do tutorial videos. This is very confusing from a programmers stand point. You missed and skipped a lot of step, I still managed to figure it out but for the average person this would be hard as hell just for a future note.

im new to this droid thing im used to apple so excuse my question but can you root the droid 2 this way on any firmware im currently on 2.2 and what is the hole point of rooting is that like jailbreaking

Fixes to the instruction when I went through it.

7. cd \sdk\platform-tools

13. (skip this line - didn't have to perform this line)

15. Reboot /Soft reset. (ALT-SHFT-DEL)

15a. run "adb devices" to make sure I was connected first before I went to step 16.

okay just figured out what was wrong with those of you who can't find the "adb devices" to be working properly, when he says type cd \sdk \tools type in cd \sdk \platform-tools because they have moved the adb.exe to this folder

@jmonteca i waited more than fifteen minutes, by mistake i unplugged the phone when i plugged it again it kicked me out and the # sign came up. im not saying to try it but it worked for me. google 1 2 3 root for droid 2 there is an easier way to do it

Great Video made the process very easy and the link to the copy and paste worked very well, Up and running with tether app and rooted ! thanks max !! but the one thing i did have problem with was during the shell cmd to return to dos it hung for ever it was reading elsewhere I found out to pull batt and reboot went back to adb shell and everything went smooth just an FYI to help others
