Ok I agree with you in theory. If we gave the Soviets the nuclear secret to begin with, it probably would've prevented the cold war. However, this is very different than 2 countries going at it in a nuclear conflict. Lets say Iran guises a nuke, gives it to hamas, and they attack Israel with it. Israel then retaliates and nukes Iran. Iran then gains sympathy from other countries and they attack Israel. Thus, eventually pulling the U.S. and Russia into a nuclear conflict. Iran achieves it's goal.
There are lots of scenarios like that to contemplate. However, I disagree with the U.S. being allies with Israel. Its just an excuse to have a policy in the middle east. "because Israel are our allies." I do agree that Russia will become involved and they have lots of nukes so hopefully we'll remember that.

Yeah I have a picture with the Pope shaking hands with Hitler back in the day. Popes have done some dirty things in the past so lets not give them a free pass to do whatever they want. This pope--Benedict was in the Hitler youth group. Think about that. Popes call themselves Christians but they are just PEOPLE, dont forget that. All organized religion has the potential to do bad things and good things. However dont politicize it and dont shove it in my face. This atheist doesnt want to hear it.
