  • Such a beautiful film, not only the handsome actors and actresses but the photography, every stage created with so much care for detail and beauty. Of course Ludwig was gay, being a Catholic and in such a repressive environment... must have been hell to live like that. Visconti is (was) one of the greatest film makers.

  • But I agree, the film pays off particularly because of Romy, she is more beautiful, more sexy here than she was as a young actress. Swet SISSI is gone here and she portrays a truly sohphisticated woman

  • He makes a terrific indication here, the indication of gay nature...I think that it is the moment when Ludwig discovers his homosexuality: put up a flag, light a fire, take off your gloves and...he looks at his hands with this special 'confusion'

  • watching the movie only for romy

  • Ah,Ludwig and Richard Hornig...my fave historical couple.I like the chemistry they have in this movie:)

  • I had a feeling he was gay!!
