A little known fact is that this theme song is considered the golden standard for woodblock players worldwide, championing a revolution of woodblock performance the likes of which we will never see again.

@georgelopezblows Gone? Now that's no way to talk around here! That feeling is never gone as long as you're still able to feel it. Why, I bet all you need is an inspirational speech about believing in yourself and some heartwarming theme music, then you'll be feeling it like it was the eighties all over again!
Oh god. Oh god! It's the eighties all over again! My fashion sense has abandoned me! Abort! ABORT!
I always remember the episode when Mac's halloween costume was from the movie "Aliens" where he had rubber alien coming out of his dress shirt. I always wanted that costume.
The New York of the 80s - with that dingy and GRITTY edge to it, as depicted in this vintage montage, is the REAL Big Apple that I so miss and long for, not today's uber-liberal, mocha jocha frappe lappe sipping, "trendy" loft-dwelling, don't even think about pullin' out that cigarette, Manhattan...I've really lost a great deal of admiration for that city
@phantomlord54 I don't know about you, but New York will always fascinate me, even if the turned Times Square into Disneyland (Isn't Broadway supposed to be an actual street? I mean come on...). But despite their efforts, there's always gonna be that grittyness to the city that no one can take away. I mean, it's still New York after all.

Dear 80s & 90s: FOR THE LOVE OF GOD COME BACK!!!!! I cant stand TV anymore!! I may have been a kid when all of these shows were on, but I appreciated them then & now. ;-; Sitcoms dont even have theme songs anymore, just a freaking 8 second title card!!
Barney Miller, Taxi, Night Court- these shows had that NYC feel to them Because of their intros. But jus for fun throw in Sanford and Son/ for the sake of that Downhome Funky flava-
I think this is from the second to last season. In the last season, Markie's opening preview changed again. She was wearing different clothes and her hair was longer.
These shows have the best theme songs. They should bundle all the intros of shows from the 70s, 80s, and 90s together into one DVD (the episodes themselves are irrelevant) and sell it on Amazon. I'd probably be the only person who'd buy it.
@vickerie1 Yep! One of the many shows I watched back when it was on the air and I remember laughing quite a bit! Always loved the intro and the song as well. :)
When I was a kid my underwear hated Markie Post. lol

NBC used to have all the good shows. Now there are like a total of 2 shows worth watching, neither of which are on NBC.

NYC was a much grittier place in the 80's. You had to be tough as nails to make it there.

This was actually the season before the last one. Markie Post has short hair here, in the last one she had shoulder length hair.
