Coole video.
Nice precision and accuracy at about 5:30 in taking down that small sapling and again at 10:10, and 11:25 on the slightly larger trees. Not a lot of wasted cuts on felling any of those sticks.
Nice to see someone do some wood chopping without the cuts splattering out all over the place like a beaver gnawed the trees down, and even use a horizontal relief cut.
Any thoughts on the Junglas vs a traditional pattern such as a Leuku?
again I am totaly scared about your attitude to the nature ! Cutting with a bunch of guys each day several trees for holiday survival purposes. Your Poncho will do the same without cutting one tree. Been there a lot in remote winterconditions in sweden and norway. Next time take a Hilleberg Akto and let the trees life !!!
Respekt the allemannsräten, it applys for tourist too !
@jackknife68 If you look at the trees in the video, they are that close together that they can not bud near the ground. He even notes this in the video, the lack of green boughs. The trees are clustered far too close together to allow them to grow properly. If that was on land that I owned then I would purposely cut out about half of those trees to allow the ones that remained to get enough light so they could bud all the way down.
@CliffStamp it's not a matter of what you think about the growing of trees, it'S a matter of the Allemannsrätten in this land, Zyhano's totally denying this fact. Foresting the woods is not concerned by tourists !!!
As I counted, he was there with 9 guys in the woods, if everyone just only cuts 3 trees, on 3 days, they cut down 100 trees. In this environment the growing is realy slow... congrats to this.
In Sweden they are thinking about altering the Allemannsrätten in case of this stupid doin
@jackknife68 I didn't see him denying anything and it would be a little lacking for a survival training expedition to not cut any wood. What wood he cut was harvested responsibly and would help the trees that remained spread and encourage new growth. Yes it could be a problem with over cutting and yes if everyone decided to do it then it would be an issue. But until the video shows cutting in a very sparse area then there is no functional issue shown.
Great video, I just bought this knife myself (anxiously eying the mailbox) and I am plowing through the youtube videos on it.
Didn't know it'd handle the cold that well though, nice to know seeing as I was born in the artic circle myself and still live in Norway although a bit further south, figure i'll get a lot of good use out of this puppy.
You try your hand on a sami knife yet though? Those do suprisingly well for chopping despite being smaller and lighter then this.
@n2wilderness Hey, it's a school and some of them I consider friends :) I hang out with a couple of those guys every now and then we go some place wild to have fun and practice our skills
@zyhano ,ok.It's an amazingly light blade when holding it.I thought it would be much heavier. But thank god(God is God,Laibach) its not.Very good wielding knife.Nice..My serial numbers are already in the 1700's..
Just curious. What trousers do you have in that vid? These ain't Fjallraven Barents by any chance?

A nice quality video, what steel is the blade on the junglas made of ?.
LEAFCUT 2 months ago
@LEAFCUT It is 1095 high carbon steel. Very tough but it will rust if you leave it wet or dirty.

Very good video. I have absolutely no access to that type of climate. Are winters in that area mostly free of aggressive animals?

@d3pHc0n thanks my friend, as far as I know, yes, we didn't encounter any aggressive animals

@njordghost absolutely. Going to these (remote) areas and enjoying the outdoors is great. Especially with some metal in your backpack :)
