I saw a guy the other day at mona vale ripping on a fitzgerald single fin.Its so awesome people still love riding singles especially when they are made by one of the best surfer, shapers ever terry fitzgerald.
Lovely, I truly love my single fin, I don't have to show off for anyone, I can just flow with the wave and have so much fun. Check out all the classic surfers, especially Buttons. What Terry says at the end is so true, thank you for this little video.
Terry did experiment with Thrusters very very briefly, so only a small distraction from his single fin design and surfing. If you asked Terry if he ever surfed a Thruster he would probably deny it, just to annoy Simon Anderson when they play golf on Fridays.
@RaisedByWolvesVision Some of us from that era have never left singles even if we have ridden other stuff. Geoff McCoy, Cheyne Horan and guys like Terry know where the speed is. It's about a feeling, not about being able to go rail to rail more often. Something still magical about " functional " single fins. There were plenty of non functional ones though. Thrusters are just easier for most people. You can't fake it on a single.
