If I hang my casablanca ceiling fan high up, I would want to have an intelitouch so I wouldn't have to use a ladder to change the speed or reverse the fan.
I love that fan! I always liked the extreamly slow speed of the old Casablanca fans on low, I think they called it "resturaunt slow," because alot of resturaunts had them in the dining room, more as a decoration than a functional breeze. You said you don't care for the brackets, but I love the way the short bracket looks.
I just had an IT fan repaired. They unnessecarily upgraded the Circuit board to the new technology. When I opened the fan before they fixed it, the board read June 22, 1989. Not a short time I'd say, huh. But now, I have to agree that pullchains from Casablanca are the best of all of them. Inteli-touch sucks now, but it surely was great in the 80's and 90's!!! The circuit board is cheap, it buzzes and clicks, and this is NOT THE MOTOR OR FLYWHEEL! It didn't do any of that before it was fixed!
The China-Made Holliston I have...I don't exactly hate it, but I dislike it. The inteli-touch tones are so quiet you can't hear them over the TV. The uplight is difficult to turn on. The switch is stiff and the blade brackets look like popsicles. It wobbles on the highest speed with the longer downrod (which is normal) and the two-hour break-in period doesn't help, which I extended to 2 weeks about an hour a day, and it still isn't broken in. Payed $400 for this...Yea, China is better...Right...
Have one of these in snow white. Has the inteli-touch and works great. Not looking into getting rid of it any time soon. It does click on the fith and sixth speed, but its easy to live with. Gonna try to take the globe light kit off because there are two other light bulbs on the ceiling right next to it. Made in Amerca so it is OBVIOUSLY going to last a long time. Just got a new Holliston off eBay with the inteli-touch. Still need to have the fan broken in.
I have to say I disagree with most of what you said, but I LOVE that fan. Pullchains fail just as often as IT (which neither fail that often), and MADE IN USA FTW! You have to hand it to Casablanca for generating a computerized ceiling fan, it was so ahead of its time. Anyway, great find for Montreal!
Ah I knew you were going to say something like this. I did not know you liked electronic controlled fans that much. A real nice vintage fan to me have to be pull chain controlled. For wall control there theses 5-speed controllers that are really cool. It was really useless to design a computerized ceiling fan but it would be so NICE it they would make again thier slumber quiet system. I wanted to avoid IT Casablanca but I just had to get it as there so rare around here.
@Jean2291 But don't you know about all the button sequences you can enter? Such as Safe-Exit program, Light Minder program, and Fan Minder program? I use the Light Minder every time I'm out of the house on my Casablana Cambridge and Panama 5, and the Fan Minder program every night I sleep. It is so conveniant and smart! I love how you can set the speed so every time you turn the fan on, it is at the desired speed (same with the light). LOVE Inteli-Touch! Not useless at all!
Its the first video I do with sarcasm...to show how the quality in electronic stuff is pathetic compare to mecanical stuff that can LAST... And when you try to repair electronic stuff its super complicated, you have to spend hundreds of $ to get a replacement part when mechanical part are very cheap to buy and most of repairs are so easy to do. I have some fans that are mechanic controlled and even older than this one, some of them were in terrible shape and STILL worked.
I want one of those fans wat website is it called just kijiji.com

One more thing, on my mom's friend's four seasons, the intelitouch sounds differently.

My mom's friend has one of these in her living room. Except it is antique brass, and has plain blades, and a longer downrod.

@dslgunner1977 LOL -- I just realized I misspelled "RESTAURANT"...not once, but twice! It must have been late (or very early).
