@Saffronrevo Yes, Issan people are Lao-Issan descent. You are so absolutely right. Issan and Lao people do not like to follow Hollywood people. We have our own Mor Lums, distinguished foods such Padaek (fermented fish) and sticky rice. Tai's songs and Lums which are all composed with the Lao language speak for themselves. Go Lao and Issan people; we are very rich culturally and linguistically.

@Saffronrevo Paak Esan was part of Laos, til it was given to Siam by the French. Esan people did not cross the borders to become Thais, but thai borders crossed them instead.
