  • (Activates VATS)

  • wow, this wasp is gorgeous. Black and red spells death for spiders everywhere.

  • I think their prey is mostly spiders.

  • Excellent photography...

  • @PERIZ99 Thanks so much =) It was a little scary following this wasp around so closely!

  • I want that one minute and 49 seconds of my life back.

  • if that shit sting you ..youll end up impotent 4 life!

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH CAZADORES!!!!!

  • i cant believe i watched thw whole thign and not see any action -.- Amazing footage though

  • Freaking cazadores there real! now everybody, lets wipe them out before when the apocalypse comes, no giant insects that will mutate too 15 feet long and 10 feet tall will torment us in the apocalypse

  • I seen one of these guys in action about 4 months ago....he or she killed a very big southern house spider and it was about 3 times the size if the wasp!.It continued todrag the wasp under the river rocks that line my home"probably into the spiders home"poor guy... I found it very interesting to watch... It was one of the coolest things I have ever seen an insect do in person...It was kind of like watching the national geographic channel!

  • @bmister50 Very cool that you could see a natural event like that in person... I have been trying to film a wasp attacking a tarantula for several years now, still no luck =) Cheers!

  • Just what I like. A bug with a purpose in life. I wonder if they eat up those nasty webs that spiders make too.

  • @catfishmudflap I don't think so, but they do seem to be able to crawl right through them without getting tangled or stuck... Thanks for checking it out! =)

  • Some insects are truly amazing.

  • @fregardo123 Indeed! Thanks for checking it out =)

  • One of these landed on my shoulder it scared the shit out of me.

  • How do you get that close without getting stung.

  • @Natedog2point0 It definitely knew I was there because it kept stopping to watch me every now and then, but I got the distinct feeling that it was afraid of me. In the field, they are difficult to approach as they usually fly away as soon as they see you coming... Interesting bugs! =)

  • all i think is Cazodor from New Vegas

  • scary ass MOFO

  • @MrPeacemaker02 Definitely - just the loud, deep buzzing sound these monster wasps make is un-nerving!

:-O Thanks for checking it out!

  • fuck when i see spiders, i start getting itchy and feeling like something is crawling on the floor or on me or around me :C freaks me out

  • @dori356 Don't know what it is about multi-legged critters (especially the really hairy ones) but they do indeed have that effect on a LOT of people! =)

  • OH GOD THE CAZADORS ARE REAL

  • If a 2.5 inch wasp would fly into my living room I'd shit my chair. Hate these buggers. I don't mind spiders though.

  • That's a minute and 45 seconds ill never get back

  • i hate this beasts

  • JCMDIweirdStuff ... Wow! Excellent camera work.

I have similar wasps, all black, coming to hunt on my balcony. Best I could do is to take a few snapshots and watch them take off with their prey.

  • I've been trying to film one hunting and actually catching a tarantula... no such luck yet, but I'm still trying! Thanks for stopping by :-)

  • AAAAAAAAARGH!!!

My friend just got stung by a regular wasp, on the vein on her wrist...she's in loads of pain but this looks worsee....ouch

  • I've had a few wasp stings myself, and they are indeed painful... but these things are in a class by themselves and I would want to even imagine the sort of pain they can cause! :-O

  • @JCMDIweirdStuff we read on tghe internet that it's as painful as having a hairdryer that's turned on dropped into your bubble bath....ARGH

  • @JCMDIweirdStuff

Apparantly the pain leaves you screaming for up to 5 minutes.. completely unable to even think... the pain controls your thoughts during those minutes.

  • @LPSland4444

Tarantula Hawks are right up there at the top of the list as having the most painful sting on record. As one expert put it:"If you get stung by one you might as well just lay down and scream!" :o

  • @Babyhowdy233 Yup, we googled it after she got stung, and we saw a page that said a sting from a Tarantula Hawk is like being in a bath when a hairdryer is dropped in.

Turns out my friend is allergic to wasps. Huh.

  • I have just got this Camcorder and i was wondering what software you use to view and edit the MTS video file?

    Thanks.

  • I had the same problem when I first got my Canon - I was running Vista and there were no CODECS onboard that I could use to decode it. I finally found ffdshow, a freeware CODEC pack from sourceforge which provided support for MTS (AVCHD) files, and let me use Windows Movie Maker to edit and make movies from them. When I got my Windows 7 machine, it already had a CODEC for MTS and others, so I no longer needed the ffdshow package. Hope this helps! =)

  • @DanLovinGem have to convert the MTS files over. get a converter program

  • I was within 6-8 feet of about a dozen of them the other day in Limestone Canyon. They won't bother you as long as you don't torment them hence why I won't use a macro lens but rather a 400mm :)

  • I'd have to agree - they didn't seem aggressive at all but I would want to piss them off on purpose - and definitely a telephoto is the way to go! XD Thanks for stopping by! =)

  • so thats what a cazador was based off of

  • It sure looks like it... In any case, I wouldn't want to be on the business end of this critter! :-O

  • @jcmegabyte after playing fallout,i wouldnt even want to be 15 feet to it

  • one sting and u would be lying on the floor!

  • With one of the most powerful stings in the insect world, I would certainly think so! XD

  • KILL IT WITH FIRE

  • maybe she was trying to shake off the paparazzi

  • I'm glad all she did was run away when she saw me with the camera - she has much more powerful weapons at her disposal! :-O

  • why the title says 'hunting spider' while there was none in the video?

  • I'd guess most of the time these wasps go hunting, they don't find any spiders. This hunt was doomed to failure, since the only spiders around these webs are Black Widows - which far too small to be hosts for her offspring. She is really looking for a medium-to-large sized tarantula, but apparently she can't tell the difference between the type of webs and is essentially wasting her time here. Hopefully one day I'll get to film one actually finding and attacking a spider.. Thanks for watching!

  • @JCMDIweirdStuff alrighty, i'd love to see some actions!! i'll wait for it.

  • @JCMDIweirdStuff Where are the giant spiders? I did not see only the wasp shopping!! You can change the title, stupid

  • i would squash the fukka

  • If I see one of these things, I swear to god i would beat Usain Bolt in a race in the other direction

  • The ironic thing is that it would probably being flaying away from you at the same time, since they seem to be scared of humans as well! XD

  • @MauerTwins7 They dont attack humans.. I was on holiday and one flew onto me and i was holding it for ages there awsome.

  • forget flyswatters! I would use buckshot on these fuckers!

  • No doubt - fly swatters would just piss them off and gurantee a sting! XD

  • or 0:30

  • Find A Q in a Video

Thumbs Up If you found it

    Somewhere in 0:16

  • if that bites you say hello to the most excruciating 3mins. of your life.

  • I'm glad they don't seem to be particularly aggressive towards people.. :-]

  • @purplerain151515 I found that out via Drunk Tank from Rooster Teeth :)

  • one of these flew at my dad, he caught it, froze it, and photographed it lol... it was 4 inches long with a 1 inch stinger.

  • I'd like to see some video of that - with a ruler or something for scale... A 4-incher would be an amazing specimen! :-O

  • @jcmegabyte the only part i'm sure about on length is the stinger, but that was like last year, dont have any shots with a ruler

  • I've been stung by one of those...the pain is indescribable, unbearable, the initial pain only lasts about three minutes, but, I'll tell you flat out, it'll be the longest three minutes of your life, and probably three of the worst, it stung my hand and I started flipping out and punching the wall, and I have to admit, almost breaking my hand felt much better than the sting, but I regretted it afterwards, considering the hand versus wall incident cracked two bones in my hand. All you can do is

  • Comment removed

  • Thank you for allowing completely irrelephant ads on your stupid fucking video. I hope the person closest to you, whoever that may be, contracts bowel cancer and shits blood for 6 weeks before succumbing to a horribly painful, torturous death.

  • You must really suck as a person to wish something so mean on someone you don't even know.

  • @improvingvisibility calm down you fucking moron, youtube puts theses adds on popular videos to make money so it can keep running.

  • that was fucking stupid.. thanks ass hole

  • Tarantula Hawks: Honey Badgers of the insect world!

  • I was also surprised to find that the female only lays one egg per tarantula... so each hawk that's out there flying around is one spider that didn't make it - Kinda makes you wonder just how many tarantulas there are out there running around! :-O

  • @JCMDIweirdStuff They hit wolf spiders too. I wouldn't be surprized if they actually get more wolf spiders than tarantulas. I managed to video a pepsis carrying a wolf spider while I was filming a putnami jumping spider.

  • @JCMDIweirdStuff Whats interesting about your comment is, what did they start off hunting before they were produced through eating tarantulas... obviously they didn't just appear in a tarantula one day, the ancestors must have hunted something else and through adaption went on to specializing in hunting tarantulas.

  • Well that was pretty boring, yawn yawn.

  • i was waiting for the hawk killing a spider

  • Me too - I was hoping she would find one, but no luck this time. I keep watching for them though...

  • They look like Cazadors from New Vegas

Im gonna go buy 100 of them and squash them all but one, then buy a Tarantula and then let the Hawk hunt it and have babies (already pregnant). Then I would kill all the babies but one every year just to get back at the Cazadors....

  • @PhillysFinest27

    your douchebaggery is unparalleled

  • @PhillysFinest27 At least you can sometimes kill Cazadors with one punch. Deathclaws put up one hell of a fight unless you use explosives or a ballistic fist.

  • I've been stung once, it felt like a bull-ant fucking me with a red-hot horse cock.

  • @xxxnicexxx00 ._.

  • Looks like a King ant instead of a spider.

  • I've heard that wasps and ants are closely related... This would certainly be a BIG ant though! :-)

  • I guess it pays for solitary wasps to be less aggressive than social wasps. It seems pretty chilled out for having something watching it.

  • Indeed... I'm pretty happy about that, too - after all, I was within a foot of her and she could have nailed me easily :-O

  • a real beauty, and dangerous at the same time, just amazing.

  • They are indeed big and scary, but fortunately they are pretty shy and fly away when approached =)

  • Might need a whole case of them for these guys! XD

  • oh shit a small cazador !!!

  • Where exactly is the spider that he's supposedly hunting?

  • The spider that made this web is a Black Widow - and it's hiding inside the roof vent. This wasp definitely needs a LARGE spider (tarantula) in which to lay her eggs, and while she can apparently detect the webs, she can't tell what kind of spider made them until she finds it. In this case, she never did locate the spider and went looking elsewhere after about a half-hour of hunting.

  • @jcmegabyte I've never seen a tarantula hawk vs a black widow. Considering a black widow is pretty venomous, and tarantulas are not (or are they?), I wonder who would win. I'm bettin on the hawk tho, cause they're FEARLESS BASTARDS!

  • I think the Hawk would have been disappointed had it actually found the Widow - there's just not enough spider there to be of use... Most (if not all) Tarantulas are venomous, it's just a matter of degree, but the wasp is far too agile with flight capability and really long legs to be easily caught or bitten... and once that stinger hits home, the spider is paralyzed pretty quick. It all makes for interesting footage though! =] Cheers!

  • @jcmegabyte Yeah, they're pretty badass. I can't imagine how bad a sting from one of them would hurt.

  • A complete waste of time.

  • Wow great video. A fly walking around thats awesome.

  • Well, sort of... It's actually one of the world's largest wasps - about 2 inches long, and has one of the most powerful and painful stings in the insect world, since it has to attack and paralyze tarantulas which are larger than itself..

  • @jcmegabyte perhaps you missed the sarcasm. Thats ok. Really when I came to the video I wanted to see the Tarantula Hawk kicking a spiders ass.

  • Oh my...Thank god we don't have those predators in Northern Europe

  • Yes - fortunately for you they prefer warmer climates :-) Thanks for stopping by!

  • @jcmegabyte Yep, the biggest one in Finland is European Hornet. Is Tarantula Hawk bigger than average wasp? I've read the sting is extremely painful ick :D

  • Oh yes, these are much larger than the average wasp. The females are larger than the males. This female (shown here hunting for spiders) is about 2 inches in length, and they get as large as 3 inches. Their wings make a very low-pitched buzz when they fly, and their sting is said to be one of the most powerful in the insect kingdom, perhaps second only to the Bullet Ant. Not something I would want to test for myself! XD

  • @Scandinavian92 tarantula hawks are one of the biggest wasps in the world maybe the top 3

  • Chuck Norris relaxes when he gets stung by a Tarantula Hawk.

  • @mic12397 Even Chuck might stop to scratch and mutter "Ouch!" before incinerating the little monster with his wrathful stare.

  • Is that Arizona

  • This was filmed in beautiful downtown Santa Clarita, California :-)

  • I was reading about the effects of the lack of sleep... and what the Fuk? im here? damnit youtube

  • ok how did it get from. mouse traps. to rat traps, to spiders eating mice, to this? youtube is amazing!

  • Gotta love the way YouTube's "related videos" logic works sometimes! XD

  • @jaidonl11 i got here from watching videos on holograms , work that one out, i cant xD

  • Nice video, but song was sub-par.

  • I got stung by one of these bastards up in the mountains once. Painful as shit!

  • I am surprised by how many comments I'm getting with stories of getting stung by these! I didn't think it happened very often but now I'm starting to wonder...

Anyway, thanks for checking it out!

  • gotta love the 1st 11 secs, looks kinda cute even though i hate this disgusting species.

  • Wow - I haven't heard of too many people who have had the experience of meeting one of these wasps in such a way... I hope that you do get some benfit from it though! :-)

  • @jcmegabyte i heard the poison is very good against reumatism, i´m still ok and good healt, maibe it´s because is not the first time that an bee o wasp beat me, maybe i have defenses in my body because all of that, i apologyze for my bad english and greetins for you :)

  • I found Oh Baby! but sold it as my Melee skill wasn't very high & the weapon weighed so much...which brings me to one of the biggest problems in NV, lots of cool weapons but I never really used them all, it's as if the dev. added them all for the sake of adding them :/ I def. think FO 3 was waaaayyy better than NV

  • Not even a spider's web can stop this thing, no wonder Cazadores are so hard to kill!!

  • It was interesting to watch this wasp crawl through some really heavy webs and all it did was slow down a little to brush them off! :-)

  • @juncho1977 lol un fukin beliveable how many times i was killed by them

  • @fallout3fan11000 I know, f*kn pissed me off, esp. when they would kill you in VATS!

  • @juncho1977 and when they kill my followers to then i reload the game the incinerator is the best gun to use against them besides the alien blaster and if you dont have these shoot there wings before they get close

  • @fallout3fan11000 I played on normal & so my Followers never died (only got unconscious), and I've heard that Flamer type weapons are best for killing them tho I never used those kinda weapons. I prefer energy weapons...and Pushy for my unarmed weapon >:)

  • @juncho1977 its a lot different i play on very hard and i turn on hardcore mode basicly u can only be hit once then its all over lol but the flamer weapons are the best now deathclaws ur screwed unless u have the alein blaster and the best unarmed weapon in the game is called "oh baby"

  • @fallout3fan11000 I also hate the lack of enemies...you can walk around the Mojave Wasteland for a really long time & not have any enemies to kill whereas in FO 3, you would only have to turn a corner in the DC Wastes and there could be Super Mutants, Raiders, ghouls or Talon Co. (I love killing them). Also, ID care for the Faction & Reputation system...ID care if the NCR or Legion liked me, I f*kn killed 'em all :)

  • @juncho1977 lol i konw i like fallout 3 a lot better because is more post apocalyptic and there is more enemies you should watch acomparison video between the 2 and i wonder what fallout 4 will be like

  • I so want to stomp it

  • If you ever DO try to stomp one - make sure you get it on the first stomp! If you miss, a pissed-off one of these would NOT be a good thing! XD

  • @jcmegabyte

you will watch in awe at how fast a fat person can run if this happened.

  • cute little creature :)))

  • They are particularly spectacular in bright sunlight - the bright orange wings and the metallic irridescent purple bodies are amazing... Thanks for watching and commenting! :-)

  • can i have 1:49 seconds of my life back

  • Seemed appropriate! XD Thanks for checking it out :-)

  • OOOh yeah I LIKE YOUR MOVIE

  • Thanks so much for watching! :-)

  • Hehe, I love these vids of yours and the music to it, it almost scared me, hehe, but I didn't run away, haha!

Thanks my friend! I love your channels, your music and creativity! Wow, you are spread all over youtube, haha... I am small compared (I mean my number of channels, haha) to you here! :-)

    Roeleke

  • Thanks so much for watching and th nice commnet! Yes indeed - I do get around a bit... I decided to start making a lot of channels simply to help keep my videos sorted and easier to find than one giant, cluttered mess - even though some have gotten to that point anyway! :-)

  • NO WAY!! I never knew these existed!! where are they indigenous? They are awesome and HUGE!! YIKES

  • Amazing bug, isn't it? Different species of these wasps can be found globally, wherever Tarantulas can be found, including many parts of the southern US - especially in the desert areas. In full sunlight they are amazingly colorful, being velvet irridescent purple (body) with bright orange translucent wings. Fortunately they aren't as scary as they look and sound... unless you're a tarantula! XD

  • Very impressive to look closely. Very good video.

  • This is a nice *safe* view, too! Thanks for visiting :-)

  • woow so beautiful!!!

  • They're very colorful - especially in the bright sunlight... Thanks for checking it out! :-)

  • Super video!! Pulgar arriba

  • Thanks so much for watching! :-)

  • I crossed paths with a brown recluse spider 3 days ago, it's not a very big spider but does have a nasty bite. I ran away JC, haha rotfl. <3 AC

  • Fortunately I have never run across any of those here, but of all the spiders in the US, that's the one I would avoid the most! Glad you excaped un-bitten! :-)

  • Thank´s friend

  • These are some amazing images!

  • Thanks again for all the attention :-)

  • My friend, Styrpejko, and I came across one of these actually dragging a tarantula across the dirt road. Amazing site.

  • That would have made some great footage! I have only seen such an attack one time before, and I didn't have a camera with me at the time :-/ Thanks for watching!

  • @actionadventures I think I actually have the footage and/or photos. Not 100% sure. But maybe I'll look into hunting it down when I get the chance.

  • Quite extraordinary...

    J A C Q U E S !

  • Thanks! :-)

  • awesome video

  • Thanks so much! =)

  • Thanks, my friend! Excellent video and very good performance! It very beautiful music! I love this!!.:-))

  • So glad you enjoyed my vid and music! Thanks so much for watching and the kind words :-)

  • cool video

  • Thanks so much for watching! :-)

  • A Terminex ad came up... ironic. Ooo... red wings. What a vicious little bug! I read the description, very interesting. Using a tarantula as a nursery for its offspring. I wouldn't want to come face-to-face with that thing! I have no problem with bumbles, honey bees, and carpenters, but... wasps? RUN AWAY! Yeah, I kind of run from bees, lol.
