@Movements hey man thanks for watchin! did you see my newest clip? i posted it yesterday "House (Dance) Is A Feeling Part 2. I'd LOVE to come DJ and House Dance with y'all at Sullivan Room! Anything you can do to help me make that happen?
@DJDannyDance hmmmm i can ask around to see if we can get you on a spot at the venue, but like anyone else who dont live in nyc needs to find a spot to layout after .... hmmm maybe you can stay with us man and tour nyc for a while!
@Movements i'm totally down. I have a lot of family up there, too, but we can kick it as well and tour the city House style! have you listened to my DJ mixes? I can send you some links, or you can check out my podcast on iTunes if u prefer. holla!
yes i agree house is a feeling ive been house dancing since i was 15 im 39 now and still love it i live in louisville ky now they don't have a clue what it is down here they like the dance but don't have a clue about the music there are no clubs here for house music here i even called dance studios they had no idea what i was talking about im like what the #@$%
unfortunaley,in phx,az they try to get more of the culture known, but it attracts alot of douchebags, that don't have the appreciation and want to make it more of a fashion and charge you alot to get in and dance!! dress code, no hats!! i'm just glad there is still a underground scene here.I rather it be u.g.
haha, i would hate to not be able to get in to a House club with jeans and my sneaks. Standard Housing gear! Hopefully when I get famous as a DJ, I can dress like I want to go in and DANCE! =)
I hear you on the underground tip, though I also believe in the power of spreading the music to new sectors and audiences. You in AZ or in UT?
AZ there are only 2 house d.j.'s in az that keep it real anymore and thats pete supermix salaz and his compadre senbad. They are the last breed of real house d.j.'s. Oh well danny karma is a bitch! The club didnt last too long after that. How you gonna tell dancers too dance fashionable and not wear a hat! it's in our arsenal of clothing, like a 3 piece suit! lol! Keep on dancing people!!!
@djscooby76 my friend, check out my new vid "Bring Dance Is A Feeling to Your City!". It's youtubeDOTcom/watch?v=tkJj3xyeZK8. List your city in the comments, mang. I'd LOVE to come spin in AZ!
Wow, that event sounds great Danny! And if you're planning to invite those guys, that's awesome! Anyway, love your energy and enthusiam for the music and dancing, it's a beautiful thing.
Are you in UT? Yea, I'm really trying to push House Dancing into a bigger slice of the dance culture here, and when it gets big enough, I'll definitely invite some of those pioneers and better-known Housers out to UT =D.
Hit me up on facebook facebookDOTcomSLASHdannydance
I'm out in Honolulu, but I have some friends out there and nearby, yes keep me posted we're not that far away Will definitely hit you up on facebook. Keep on with it Danny!
You're in UTAH, man? Alright! Don't listen to people who try to tell you you have to do some certain step to do House dance. They're just copying three and four year old NYC steps that somebody else taught THEM at some workshop or something. That's what I call the "International Style". The thing is, you don't HAVE to dance like that. You're a fine dancer, nobody would glance at you twice in a New York club, where not everybody is doing the same step either. Can't we all just get along? :o)
Thanks for the great comment and feedback =). I agree that there is room for diversity in our dance--just last Sunday I visited NYC and "Kings of New York 6" was going on, which included House battles. One of the old-timers--this lady that's been in the scene for 30-40 years--reminded the whole room of how important it is to reinvent House as your own dance style and not just copy each other's, so I totally agree with your point =D
House is definitely a feeling and anything goes in the clubs, however, there is a style of dance called "House Dance" that was created to the music that is nearly 3 decades old, it's just that it has been underground in the US, only certain cities you can see it. If you're interested check out some of major contributors, Marjory, Caleaf, Brian Green, Ejoe, Terry, Shan S and there are many more...
Indeed a feeling, I agree! House Dancing, like the kind in my video above, really stems from that feeling, which depends a lot on the particular song or style of House Music. Being a DJ and House dancer, I get to seek ways to expand knowledge of the music and the dance. Both are going very well thus far. Plan on having a large-scale House Dance Masters in 2010 once enough new dancers pop up, at which point I'd love to bring out the likes of those dancers you mentioned.
hey, thanks for watching, and I'm glad you enjoyed it! And you can dance like this too--it's a feeling, so what you need is some incredible tunes to motivate your soul =D
Whats up danny, You deff have to come out to NYC and check out Sullivan room with DJ Tony Touch!
